Dam around $700 for the part might as well just get an actual spot lock trolling motor for that
It is around $617 NOT $700. We have discount code “KayakDIY” which drops price from around $649 to $617. All in you have a new warrantied GPS motor for around $700-$750 that is lighter, easier to mount, & with route follow modes and features only seen on really expensive $2000 GPS motors. The Gheenoe owners have been loving it because many of them don’t have bows for traditional heavy bow mounts.
@@KayakDIY way too expensive, can buy a few troll motors for 600, maybe even a used gas motor for a small boat. Not worth it.
650 plus tax for my location and without the discount code is $703. So more than $700 would have been accurate. Assuming shipping is free
@@Randald we know damn well bro ain’t shipping these out for free 💀

$617 for AutoBoat and $40-$119 for a motor
*VS*
$1300+ for most other brand GPS motors.
I will never look at xi3 or iPilot after owning AutoBoat system. I’ve owned other $1300+ systems like xi3/iPilot and when motor burns out I’m stuck replacing the entire $1300+ system. When AutoBoat system has motor failure I simply swap out a $40-$119 motor within an hour and I’m back on the water. Also the Xi3 GPS was weaker and had connection issues at times. The AutoBoat GPS is way more accurate and consistently grabs stronger signal. Also the app for AutoBoat is pretty awesome. When it comes to owning multiple boats like me it is also more cost effective. I can just move AutoBoat adapter between motors on different boats. Also when it comes to Saltwater GPS motors AutoBoat becomes way more affordable since bow mount GPS saltwater motors cost even more. Last but not least I can mount AutoBoat based GPS motors in areas I couldn’t mount bow mount trolling motor….such as inside my kayak pedal drive. The AutoBoat kit is $649 which is about half the price of bow mounts.
@@KayakDIY can I connect multiple outbourds to the autoboat?
@@bardariansone AutoBoat kit per trolling motor.
Was just on a guided fishing trip and they had a gps unit and it was sooooo slick. Immediately looked at buying one for my boat but can only mount a transom motor. This looks perfect for my set up and at a decent price (competitor gps unit trolling motors are easily twice the cost of this unit and on much heavier trollers than what I need). For a niche product this is perfect. Will be saving to buy this next year!
The new AutoBoat Smart head system has just released at Tiny Boat Nation for pre-order. You can use the discount code KayakDIY. The new Smart head system eliminates the box and is even cleaner yet. It is super easy to install and only requires two wires to be connected. The new Autoboat Smart head system also has a new surprise feature that is only seen in motors that are much more expensive and having an add-on expensive accessory. Found that AutoBoat smart head is a bit more responsive and has better performance. Check it out at TBNation.net
I just ever so softly, ever so quietly, drop my metal anchor.🤣
Yo that is sick
I have same setup and I fish rivers creeks canals bayous bays and even the Gulf side when the water is calm enough with my 3 person fishing kayak it's perfect for fishing in a canoe or kayak plenty of power anchor lock for when you get near a school of feeding fish like speckled trout and great for following the feeding schools of fish like red fish and speckled trout. I love this setup can't be beat for 150 dollars I paid total for this exact same motor and then I bought this controller and it's worth the price tag for the controller gps makes life so much easier safer and fun on the water and you can easily take the controller off one boat and put it on another trolling motor if you got a kayak and a bass boat or John boat with trolling motor as well. I can steer the kayak with one hand while I keep casting my lures when bass and speckled trout fishing. I won a saltwater fishing tournament with this same setup it was called the ultimate 3 tournament where you catch one of each fish red fish speckled trout and flounder and who ever had the most weight combined win and I ended up with 43 lbs total between the three fish I entered to be scored the red fish weighed 32lbs flounder was 7 lbs and the speckled trout was 4.5 lbs at 19 inches. I love this setup I sold my flats boat that I used for rivers and the flats in the bays and stuff cause I use this setup way more then the actual flats boat cause it's cheaper to run easier to maintain and easier to get out on the water and go fish. I still own a boat for offshore fishing and going places where it's to dangerous to get to with my kayak but this motor and controller setup can't be beat even if your not fishing and just wanna go cruise the river and go find a sand bar to camp on with you and the wife and kids it's great for that to and it's powerful enough to power a small John boat for 3-4 ppl and some equipment for camping on the river
Now you have to tag and register that kayak no thanks
Dang dude $20 is too much money. Sheesh. Do you just eat top ramen to survive?
$650 for one, I'll pass. That's more than I spent for my whole rig, trolling motor, boat, and trailer included.
No problem. Just sharing. Do remember to at least take advantage of discount code which makes the price drop from $650 to about $617. Discount code is “KayakDIY”. AutoBoat is a lot less expensive than other new GPS motors and I think it offers a lot of benefits such as easier mounting, less expensive to repair if motor burns out, and the app has lots of unique useful features. I don’t care what people buy as long as they get out and have fun. 😊👊
Thanks for stopping by the channel.
Nah he's right this looks like a good modular design for people that want to have the option of swapping out motors. I'll stick to my anchor for now but I'm considering this.

The GPS is way stronger and reliable than xi3 I’ve used. Plus If xi3 motor burns out I’m down $1300. If AutoBoat motor setup burns out i can find replacement motor for $40-$119 and be back on water within an hour. Price is less than half of what xi3 GPS costs. I also can mount this on more kayaks and watercraft than xi3 or ipilot. Plus, last I checked Motorguide Xi3 and many others don’t have route follow smart modes like AutoBoat. That is a huge perk to AutoBoat.
@@KayakDIYstill a rip off no matter how much you explain your moronic product. Hope you go bankrupt with prices that high. I could buy so many trolling motors that work just fine and are even much faster too for significantly less. 150 per motor is easy to find, you are price gouging the life out of your business.
I’d rather have manual handle got to take hands off fishing pole to mess with control with the manual jus hit it with your knee
$100 for the trolling motor and $650 for the controller makes its a $750 trolling motor tho. For that you can get a really nice setup.

*No you can’t. Prove it. Post the link.*
*Haswing Aquos is remote controlled NOT gps.*
Plus, their more expensive Haswing Cayman GPS motors have shitty app, customer service is non-existent, and they are heavy as shit for mounting. My friends are dealers and looked into carrying Haswing….they ultimately bailed on the deal because Haswing basically disappears and doesn’t support their product after you buy. Haswing provides almost no support to their distributors and dealers.
Yea I got a $100 motor for a reason if I had $800 laying around I would gotten a better motor 🤦🏾♂️
It isn’t better. I’ve owned iPilots and Xi3. Heck friend just got a $3000 Rhodan as well last year and already crapped out. 1yr typical warranty. It covers AutoBoat. Doesn’t cover the trolling motor. However, I don’t see how it would damage the trolling motor. It also doesn’t modify the trolling motor and it installs without any tools. The clamshell design means you can install AutoBoat without having to modify or dismantle your motor. Pretty genius. What baitshop did you buy mud minnows?
Did some research and found a review that mentioned the gps system is horrible compared to other short shaft gps motor. Ya'll need to give these out to others for review, then maybe it'll gain more attraction. So far, majority of the Autoboat GPS review are from your own company only, bias review. I need more reviews from others. Feel free to send me one and ill give a good review though 😉 I kayak fish all the time.
Haha. Nice try. Not sending you a unit. The random review you claim you saw likely was due to user installation error. We get many people who have motor head backwards with power cables sitting on gps causing interference. We also have several users who have gps mounted backwards and tons of other errors. It would be an outrageous claim to say AutoBoat gps is horrible compared to others. When installed correctly that simply isn’t true. Also once it is installed correctly you don’t need to baby it…it just works day after day. We have had tons of major fisherman test it. It has been tested also in South America for 4yrs by some of the greatest anglers I know fishing the harsh Amazon river (for example: Jonny Hoffman).
For record Henderson Hookin & Florida on Tankful bought their AutoBoats. Check with them for the most non-bias review. Also check with Aliex Folguiera channel as he just got one a while back. Pretty long list of other TH-camrs with AutoBoats. My videos just show up first since I think Google considers me an authority on the topic. Also could be due to my channel size. Not sure how algorithm works. Haha
@KayakDIY Darn, it was worth a try haha Thanks for for the informative response. I really do like the idea of a light weight and half priced gps motor. And "horrible" was an overstatment, it was more of the gps moving more than 6' before adjustment, but then again, could be user error like you mentioned. I'll refer to the other videos you mentioned and see what I think. Really do want one, just not enough review on how it really is and after a year. Appreciate the help!

Why keep stressing about a $100 motor when that system is 5x that amount?SMH
Because the total system is still less than half of most other motors and it has more features and a ridiculously awesome app interface for things like route modes. Also many people already have these motors so it costs them even less. Plus if motor burns out they can find another motor the same day and be back on the water (something you can’t do with other brands).
For people complaining, a spot locking trolling motor is easily costing you 1.5 grand. With this you could get a trolling motor off market place for like 50 and come out good as gold
you can get a much more capable motor if you look around. I found a 55lb powerdrive on marketplace with an i pilot head for $600. Just gotta know where to find a good deal
Definitely not more capable than AutoBoat Smart Head for $617 (via promo code). Your $600 used iPilot “without warranty” can’t anchor jog without additional expensive sensor. IPilot route follow mode sucks. AutoBoat destroys your POS marketplace iPilot. It is more intuitive and way easier to use. Like choosing a Nokia over an iPhone. You don’t know what you are talking about. 😂
Thanks bro just yesterday talking about buying a gps enabled motor but this could be a better option... But whooo that's expensive
GPS I feel is stronger than xi3. It seems to hold positioning better. Also if xi3 motor burns out you are out $1300+. If AutoBoat trolling motor burns out you can fix it in an hour by just buying another motor for $40-119. Plus the system is easier to mount. For instance I can put this motor system In my hobie pedal drive where a bow mount wouldn’t fit.
To the people who say it’s too costly, give me a frickin break. The nearest Minn Kota with spotlock is $1150. Second, the name brands with GPS have long shafts which you probably do not need in a small boat. And thirdly the Autoboat fits on a transom style motor. These have a lot less weight and mounting surface than a bow mounted GPS trolling motor.
Exactly….I will never look at xi3 or iPilot after owning an AutoBoat system. Only time would be if I needed a super long shaft beyond 48”. ProControll 48” trolling motors fit AutoBoat.
Out freaking standing
The app is awesome and has more smart features. I use it mostly to control the motor. The blue remote has further range for cases of parking truck and leaving boat in the water in anchor mode. Blue remote and smartphone can be connected to motor at the same time.
Just $700 without trolling motor included 😂
$649 and many people might already have compatible motors. The motors range from $40 (gently used) to $119 (new). That is way less than spending $1300 on a Xi3 or iPilot system. Heck if Xi3 motor burns out you are out $1300. Of AutoBoat trolling motor burns out you just swap out the motor for $40-119. The GPS performance is better on AutoBoat than Xi3 that I used. Xi3 seemed to have poor signal/connectivity. Only reason I would consider a iPilot or xi3 would be for the longer shaft on some boats. However, ProControll’s 48” shaft motors are under $200 and fit AutoBoat so that covers a lot of boats.
Respect everyone’s opinion. That is just my opinion and rationale. Also I like the app features on AutoBoat a lot. The app is always free and their new features being developed sound amazing. No other GPS motors will do what they are about to do.
That's really nice, it's just $700USD is a tad out of my price range and I'm running a 60lbs brushless on a 18ft StarCraft which is slightly out of the 30-50lbs minnkota.
Yeah it is rated for 55lb thrust or less.
For 650 it looks like it’s lacking in quality. But then again anything you put on a boat is stupid expensive and looks like a medium fart could break it.
In terms of your perception what is the area of concern regarding quality? I can forward that concern to the engineering team.
Gen 1 AutoBoat has been sold for last 3yrs in Brazil with thousands of units in service. We discovered it there due to Brazil having a huge fishing tourism economy.
The Gen 2 units with further improvements will be what ships mid-September. I had the owner of the company and TBNation at my home testing and discussing design and performance tweaks. Even now we still have teams in U.S testing it to weed out any unforeseen problems. AutoBoat has customer service as their top priority. We have tried to anticipate user errors and engineer around those potential problems.
Price point at 700 and im sure that isn't shipping then add tax your at a grand and that is too expensive when you can just buy one that has all that built into the motor. motor guide has the most affordable option especially used
Price isn’t $700. It is closer to $615 with the discount code KayakDIY. Also many people already have the motor or they can find them dirt cheap. Plus AutoBoat has more features and things like route follow modes. AutoBoat is also better weather sealed than other GPS motors I’ve used. Other brand motors I’ve used have had water intrusion wreak havoc on motherboards (ie: Rhodan).
So ya sayin we save money with this setup
Somebody’s feelings are gonna get hurt. I love it.
😂 definitely makes it hard to justify $4000-5000 kayaks with GPS motors.
@KayakDIY I'm planning on buying one of these for my feelfree lure 11.5 V2 with the beaver tail rudder. Even with the autoboat installed, 100ah lithium battery, lowrance hds and active target. The whole setup will still be cheaper than an Old town autopilot 120, Just the kayak.
Now make one that can work with a brushless motor like a haswing :-)
Will keep that in mind. We primarily intended to bring technology to the masses at the lowest price. So the less expensive most common trolling motors were our first target for compatibility.
Bro I need this I’m trying to troll and fish on my small boat not just move trolling motor the whole time and not fish
Should be priced at $300. People would acutally buy it.
Or keep same price and people actually buy. lol
It already barely can stay in stock. TBN keep increasing orders. IT IS PRICED WELL. It does way more than other gps motors.
@KayakDIY By reading the comments. I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. You are definitely lying. GOOD LUCK. 😆 🤣 😂
This makes no sense. $600+ for gps unit, plus trolling motor. 😂 like living in a double wide with a Ferrari parked out front
*Funny….but that comment makes no sense.*
The smart features alone make AutoBoat a better buy than Xi3 and iPilot. I haven’t seen route follow modes or such easy route recording on MotorGuide xi3 or MK iPilots. Not only is it cheaper but it has more features. Also I like how it mounts easier on most of my boats. It is way lighter and easier to take on and off. If motor burns out I can swap AutoBoat within an hour to another motor for under $150 vs Motorguide xi3 or MK ipilot will cost a fortune and take probably a week to get parts and be back on water.
😂😂😂😂😂
Nice only 600$ for a 100$ motor
Yeah so around $700 or less you can have a GPS motor that fits almost any boat. Basically about half price of other new GPS motors. If motor burns out like my neighbor’s $3000 1yr old Rhodan bow mount you just replace a $40-119 trolling motor. I have zero desire for a large Xi3 or iPilot bow mount. I like that AutoBoat is more weather sealed than most other gps motors. Also AutoBoat put a waterproofing barrier on their motherboards as well as additional protection. They don’t advertise it, but it is a huge perk. I’ve had 4 other expensive brand name gps motors break due to water intrusion frying motherboards. AutoBoats is way better protected.
Well a spot lock from minn kota is 2000, so, I'm interested
New app features coming to AutoBoats are gonna be awesome. The company let me Beta test the app updates. The new Waypoint stringing for route creation is awesome…the app has satellite map and I can plot waypoints which creates a route for AutoBoat to follow. So easy to use unlike other brands I’ve tried. Also a lot less expensive. The company vows to never charge for their app updates or features…always FREE!
Where was this before I bought the Garmin Force!?!?
Attention: Not working new brushless motors.. for example, rhino blx70 and other new brushless motors.
It is designed for the basic manual (no Digital maximizer) 55lb thrust motors or smaller. The motor compatibility list is on the website of TBNation product page.
How long can you go out for on whatever battery u have?
I am out all day using 100AH lifepo4 battery. I’m using a Minnkota riptide 45 pound thrust motor paired with my AutoBoat. This link gives discount to LiTime batteries. These batteries are affordable and good quality A grade cells. Might be better deals but I can only speak for what I have used.
www.litime.com/discount/KAYAKDIY?ref=k8l6rYjiXC_Dlb
It's 650 dollars..
😂😂 what good is it advertising on a 100 dollar motor
Because many people already have the motor. The total price is less than half of other new GPS motors. Also if motor burns out like bow mounts can it is cheaper to replace the motor and swap adapter to new motor. Also it is a lot less bulky and easier to mount in more places and on more watercraft. I have zero desire for xi3 or ipilot now. I look at them and they seem large and archaic. Like filming TH-cam videos with a VHS camcorder when I could use a compact GoPro. I like the AutoBoat system better due to unique mounting and it’s smart features.
@@KayakDIY I've been using the same Minn Kota for 10 years 🤣 what are you talking about. And your claim you have to replace the entire system when a motor burns out is entirely false. Minn Kota sells all replacement parts a simple Google search shows you that. I get it though your a salesman lol
Yeah the gps thing itself cost $600 you might as well just get the real thing
I never will look at xi3 and iPilots the same since getting this. They seem bulky, heavy, and archaic. If my xi3 motor burns out I’m screwed. If my AutoBoat trolling motor burns out I can find a used one within 5mins for about $40. Otherwise I can buy new for around $110-200 depending on what power and specs I want. I can literally same day be back on water for a-lot less. My friend’s Rhodan was $3000 and 18months old and already crapped out. I see basic motors 10yrs old plus.
I would argue the real deal is AutoBoat and not these overpriced bulky pieces of junk like xi3 or iPilots. For a new GPS system it is 1/2 price of what other brand new units run.
That is really cool!
Pretty sure i can get a gps controlled trolling motor for less than the 800 bones involved in this setup. Maybe not brand name but still.
There is more reasons I prefer this over traditional bow mount gps motors than just price. The apps backtrack functions, route recording, and overall function I really like. Also the GPS seems more accurate than xi3 I’ve tried. It also seems to be better performing than Old Town AutoPilots that I tested which use Minn Kota iPilot system. I also like how lightweight the system is and I prefer the modular motor design. If motor fails I’m only out $40-119. If ipilot or xi3 motor fails I’m likely out $1300. Also it just mounts better on many watercraft. My buddies Gheenoe had aluminum transom up at the bow, many bass raider style boats have transom in bow, etc. I understand your initial logic, but being an owner of multiple watercraft and AutoBoat that is my viewpoint. AutoBoat is a brand name…just not quite yet in North America….in South America it is well known for the past 3yrs and there are thousands of units being used there.

The new AutoBoat system is called the Smart Head it releases November 2024. It is even better!
I hate to break this to you but you can put any trolling motor on any kayak for less than $100
You keep playing down the price but it’s $650?
Yeah. I’m stoked. I can build out tons of kayaks easily with this. Heavy bow mounts don’t fit most kayaks. This is also half the price of other bow mount GPS motors. It has better features and controls. The route follow I like better, the app is always free, and I feel the GPS holds anchor position tighter than other units like xi3 and some of the iPilot systems I’ve been on. Seriously we live in a world of $400+ GoPros and other ridiculousness. I think $649 is killer price and apparently thousands of Brazilians did as well over the last 3yrs. That is how we discovered these motors. Brazil’s fishing tourism is huge along the Amazon.
$100 trolling motor.
$500 battery
$200 marine mat kit.
$700 dollar piggy back gps system.
You can use basic battery. I prefer 100ah mini LiPO4 one I have with runs around $329. Regardless you need a battery for any brand motor you buy…not just AutoBoat. The GPS motor adapter is $649 but code KayakDIY gets you further discount. You can find motors for $40-119. Have had xi3 and iPilots motors burn out and there goes $1300+ down the drain. With this AutoBoat system if my motor craps out I can find another motor within an hour for $40-119 and be back on the water. Plus I prefer the easier mounting and slimmer small mounting footprint. However, I get it. Not for everyone. Makes no difference to me. I just show people what I’m using and enjoy.
@@KayakDIY I wasn’t talking shit. Just listing prices.
@@robtaylor6806 no it is cool. Don’t mind if you were. You from Midwest? Saw the tractor profile. I grow up in Iowa. Worked for Demco that makes wagons and sprayers.
Lol might as well buy a 1300 ipilot powerdrive
When that power drive motor craps out or has issues you are out $1300. When AutoBoat motor craps out you are out $40-$119. Also you still need to buy a battery for the $1300 powerdrive. With the large savings of AutoBoat you can afford to buy a better LiPO4 battery which I think is really important and huge upgrade.
This is great. Still light weight able to use it with my trolling motor in the pedal drive hole. Then gps on top of that.
That would be handy in Ukraine
For war? I suppose a drone boat could be useful.
Not bad but it’s the price of a actual spot lock trolling motor
Where are you finding a new spot lock motor for that? 🤔
@@KayakDIY Amazon has a couple of ones. Or go used minikota.
Definitely not buying a used Minn Kota gps motor. For one I’ve had 2 of them get water into motherboard and they were toast. Autoboat is way more water resistant and motherboard has a coating to help protect it as well.
When u got money but not that much
The new AutoBoat Smart Head is definitely gonna kick ass and beat most other GPS motor setups. For instance having anchor jog without needing separate expensive heading sensor, having a colored screen remote with magnetic charging, and bunch more features at $617-649 price point. $617 with our promo code KAYAKDIY. The box is eliminated and all components are housed in new AutoBoat Smart head. Pretty stoked. Way lighter system too and easier to mount than heavy awkward bow mounts. Will do videos on new AutoBoat system in about a month.
Ty super bunches!!!
No problem.
So you save an arm and a leg not buying the spot lock motor… but still have to spend an arm and a leg for the product? I would definitely consider this if I could get both the motor and the aftermarket spot lock for 500. Other than that, it’s too expensive to be considered makeshift when you can just spend the extra couple hundred for the spot lock motor brand new. I was very intrigued with the idea though. Constructive criticism.
Until your motor takes a dump. With this you can run $50 marketplace specials and get the same results as a 1,000 minnkota spot lock.
Every new spot lock I see is $1300+. This is about half price. My neighbor’s $3000 Rhodan motor burnt out and was barely 2yrs old. If that happens with AutoBoat you are replacing a $40-119 motor and can be on water same day. Swapping adapter to new motor takes 3 mins. I’ve seen the reliability of the large bow mounts. I would rather have the smaller footprint of the AutoBoat setup and the option to change out motors as needed for $200 or less. They sold thousands in South America/Brazil already for the last 3Yrs. That is how I heard about them. The fishing tourism in Brazil is huge. Bunch of friends have fished using these units and looked to bring them to the U.S. They are selling them for same price in Brazil.
Man autoboat is killing it
@@dakzwilson8055 just wait till you see the New AutoBoat Smart Head system. It is available on preorder now at TBNation.net

Has some new features. We eliminated the box and everything now is in a head which you swap with your original trolling motor head. Very clean setup. We might have some surprise upgrades for customers too. There are some features in the new Smart Heads which will blow minds.
@@KayakDIY will it install into my existing head? I really do like the look of the one I have lol
Ridiculous pricing. More than my dam kayak
Except it isn’t. It gets me a better gps system that is easier to mount for about half the cost of others. Thanks for your opinion. I’ll keep my AutoBoat and laugh at those buying heavy glitchy unreliable Xi3 and iPilot systems. I’ve owned them…never again.
I wanna get one of those Lil Skiffs so I can take my dog out with me. Right now I pull him behind my kayak in a Inflatable Raft. 😂
They are available from the same company that sells these motors in the U.S. Here is link to the skiff. tbnation.net/products/rotomolded-lite-skiff-built?ref=LiteSkiff
Would be cool If it wasn't almost 700 bucks. I made my hundred dollar motor operate with 200 bucks of rc parts. Granted it don't have anchor lock. But still
Would this work with a torque do or similar setup?
I think you are referring to Torqeedo. The answer is no. It won’t work due to voltage differences and Torqeedo’s unique speed controllers. It was designed to work with wide range of budget 5 speed trolling motors that typically cost under $300. There is a list on the site of compatible motors. We are adding motor motors to the list routinely. We recently discovered new compatible motor even yesterday (Pro Controll).
For the price of autoboat, you can buy high quality remote control trolling motor that comes with the foot control as well😂😂
Remote control motor without GPS is no comparison to AutoBoat. 😂
Also there is rumors that AutoBoat may have a future wireless foot control system.
@@KayakDIY thats what I have a GPS phone and GPS fish finder for🤷🏻♂️
You won’t have anchor mode or route follow modes with your basic remote control motor. Also I laughed when you called your basic remote control motor high quality. They fail all the time due to not being very water resistant and motherboards get corroded. AutoBoat is way more water resistant and even has an additional waterproof barrier sprayed on the motherboard.
Will this work with the newport vessels nk180 motor?
No, that is a 24v system and AUTOBOAT is a 12v system. AUTOBOAT was design to work with multiple brands and models of super cheap basic 5-speed trolling motors.
Is that American price?
Yes. Around $617 (using promo code) or $649 full MSRP.
The new AutoBoat Smart Head system can do everything this AutoBoat system can do plus more. The new Smart Head system releases in November and has a lot of future proof features added that will make it a badass motor setup for years. It even will have options for more advanced remotes that will release December/January.

Not at $700 bucks..
It is already $649 and half the price of other brand GPS motors. What price are you expecting? You realize this is already a proven system with thousands of units on the water over period of last 3 years. ProNav adapter for trolling motors is $700 and works with a lot less motors.
I got the expensive on that came on my boat when I bought in the wind I didn’t hold it anchored spot
Sounds like your expensive one was underpowered or malfunctioning. I’ve had nothing but great experiences and reliability with AutoBoat system. I like that it is modular so I can move the system to a different motor if I ever break the motor or if I want to get a different size. The motors it uses are readily available used and in department stores for under $200 typically.
1000$!!!!! That’s ridiculous, that’s almost as much as your kayak
What? It is $617 if you use discount code KAYAKDIY
WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING? 😂
Nice but 650 dollars $
Get it for close to $615 if you use code KayakDIY.
A lot less than other new gps motors and better water sealed than other brands. My friends’s $3000 Rhodan gps motor had motherboard get wet and corroded 2x in a year….he is pretty sure rain water did it which is even more pathetic. AutoBoat is way better sealed and easier to replace motor if you burn out a motor. Also AutoBoat has more features like Route follow modes in a cool app.
"100 dollar trolling motor" yeah right hahahahahahahahaah
Walmart literally just had C2 Enduras for $75. On average see them around $114 or less pretty easy. Not to mention the countless FB marketplace motors I can swipe for $40.
In pre-ordering it soon! Only question is: Will there be a manual override where it can still be operated as a tiller style?
It was cool until I saw it was $700. I'll just buy the GPS Minn kota
Almost twice the money, if motor burns out you can’t replace motor same day for $40-200, it is less compact and easily mounted to kayaks and small watercraft. For those reasons I prefer AutoBoat….especially in saltwater. Saltwater GPS systems are expensive and the ability to swap out motor easily via AutoBoat is nice. My friend’s $3000 Rhodan GPS motor crapped out after a year! He now is out $3000. If that happened to me I could find replacement “saltwater” motor for $40 used or $120-200. new. I can also mount my GPS autoboat system on my kayaks and skiffs way easier and cheaper than a bow mount.
Rhodan has a two year warranty. How’s he out if he only had it for a year?
@@joshwalker1441 maybe it was slightly older. 🤷♂️ It was on a pretty damn new flats boat and motor looked brand new. All I know is he said he had to fork out another nearly $3000. I just figured for as new as it looked and what he spent it sucked that he would be out $3k. He takes good care of his stuff and can afford it, but I saw that and was even more glad I wasn’t going down that money pit road. Motors might burn out, but I can just swap adapter to new motor.
@@KayakDIY i may have to try one of these on our microskiff. Easy install?
@@joshwalker1441 install takes maybe 3mins without tools. NO TOOLS REQUIRED.
It clamps onto shaft and you don’t have to take trolling motor apart. Pretty clever design.
How come the trolling motor handle the other way around?
Thanks
Trolling motor handle needs to stay in factory position. This allows for gps to not have interference. I never use tiller handle anyway. I use AutoBoat remote or app for control not the tiller.
Pretty cheap for a drone attack
Maybe should sell to 🇺🇦 🤷♂️
Very cool.
Will that work on a bow mount trolling motor cable driven
Ya for $650 what’s the point???
I don’t blame your skepticism. The point is the system is lighter, easier to mount, and has more features especially ones that are related kayaks. The new AutoBoat smart head system has multiple remote options, anchor jog without the need for a separate sensor, and an app that has way more features than the other brands. Creating routes to follow is so much easier on AutoBoat than other motors I’ve tested. Plus if you use the promo code KAYAKDIY you get the system for close to $617. IT IS AVAILABLE AT TBNATION.NET.
I don't understand why someone can't make this product for around 100 dollars or maybe 200. It's gps and a fairly basic program with a simple remote. Really not that crazy or technology is you consider basic smart phones have easily all that and are 200 if that
Then do it. Can’t be done.
Definitely wouldn’t be any profit margin for dealers or distributors. You would also not likely be able to have employees or any company overhead.
Is it for people without arms?
People who prefer holding fishing rod instead of trolling motor tiller handle.
If you're in a kayak the motor ain't that easy to reach unless you have one of those goofy side mount brackets.
What kind of munt is the trolling motor on on your light skiff
Amazon “NyVoozy mount” with u-bolts around the handle and track nuts. Completely no drill
Looked it up, what a joke, $600? Might as well buy a nice trolling motor
The new AutoBoat Smart Head system is on preorder. You can grab for $617 with promo code. It is gonna do things your delusional “nice trolling motors” can’t. 😉
Gonna have one of the nicest remote options, future proof design, & smart features not seen in $2000-3000 motors. Oh and it makes for a way lighter system to mount. Also easier and cheaper to mount on most boats. Then again you do you and go fork out $1000+ for something that does less than AutoBoat. 😂
Can that double as an auto turret?
It maybe could be adapted as an auto turret for live sonar. We have been looking into it. We have several projects in development. AutoBoat is here to stay in America. We are rapidly developing the product line and trying to make the adapter system more and more versatile. Our mission is to bring technology to the masses…so if we can make the system multi-purpose we certainly will. At moment people could certainly use it as a remote turret for live sonar.

Which Riot Kayak is that on? Did you make the mount?
I made mount out of angle aluminum from Home Depot, bolts, and plastic board. I then drilled two holes in angle aluminum and track mounted it on the Riot Versa. Took me maybe 5-7 minutes to make mount.
@@KayakDIYdo you have a picture of the aluminum mount?
This is awesome!
If it wasn’t $700 I’d buy one. I’m not spending that amount of money on my $200 plastic boat.
It isn’t the price of the boat that matters. It is the boat. I’ve gotten great kayaks and boats for $200. Just some don’t make sense to motorize. Thanks for commenting and stopping by. If you are ever nearby Cape Coral, Fl and you want to try AutoBoat out just let me know. I got few boats setup with them now. I joined the company as a co-owner. I’ve never done that with any other brand or product. I just really like the capabilities and directing this company is going. Their engineers and programmers are phenomenal. The Gen2 units shipping are gonna be amazing.
Problem is if your going to pay $700 on "auto boat" why would you put that on a $100 trolling motor when you can pay $200 more and get the trolling motor that has it all built in😂😂😂

Way less expensive than a new ipilot or xi3 which so far sucked big time for me. Xi3 had weak GPS and ipilot just died for no apparent reason. 🤷♂️
Man oh man. This company is going to explode.
Cmon for 700$ it’s not even in the market
The add on is 650 lol
Yeah. About half price of any other major brand GPS motor. These pre-orders are gen 2 units. Gen 1 units have been out in South America for 3yrs with thousands of units sold. We just made some huge improvements for durability and performance. Stronger material and fixed attachment to motor. Ability to add new features via App. We got new feature coming that no other GPS motor will have. Biggest perk is if the motor burns out which can happen on all brands…you can buy another basic motor for $40-$200 depending on specs you desire. Basic trolling motors are everywhere new and used. You can be back on water likely within few hours. If xi3 or ipilot motor burns out you are out a lot more money and it could take days to get back on the water. My buddy’s Rhodan GPS motor was barely 2yrs old and cost him $3000 and it broke! He just spent another $3000 on one. That is insane.
