Little bit of sports knowledge from an American who loves both footballs. John madden isn’t just an iconic commentator. He is widely considered one of the greatest coaches of all time in the nfl. After his stelar career as a coach, he went on to become a icon of the game as a commentator as well, his voice, name, and brand of football becoming synonymous with the “new nfl” his legacy is the reason madden is named after him as he is considered a innovator of the game and brought about many of the fundamental tactics as a coach and commentator that launched a new era of American football.
As a fellow American, he truly is synonymous with the game of football, our version of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Also. On top of this. Madden was influential in the development of the Madden game.
He wanted it to be made so kids at home could learn football and how to recognize certain looks like an NFL Player
Madden is named Madden because he helped create that franchise it isn't just an homage to his legend

For me, this is one of the best FIFA videos I’ve seen. The nostalgia, the talks about next FIFA’s and this vid is a prefect example for a podcast. You most do it. Thank you so much for this vid!
In case you still care Andy, Madden is named after John Madden, who was a NFL-Player, later coach, which he was one of the best of all time, best coach of the 60s/70s and because of his insane knowledge of the sport he also became one of the most beloved commentators of all time, so he covered every experience of the sport you can have, which was the reason they named it after him and he was generally beloved by everyone involved in the sport. As bateson said tho he sadly passed away late december 2021, rip to the legend, just trying to give him the respect he is due, loved that you guys brought him up

In case anyone is wondering if this card is an End of era or premium sbc. It was part of a set of Premium fut birthday players (El Shaarawy, Torres, David luiz) these players had Fut birthday cards placed into packs and then had better cards in sbc’s.
Some of these sbc’s included needing red picks as well which received mixed opinions at the time. These SBC’s were rereleased at the end of the year (with easier requirements) which is were a lot of people ended up getting them.

In your hypothetical icon update, If someone upgrades their icon, does it become untradeable? If not, does it sell on the market as its upgraded version or as the baby version? Also, if it remains tradeable and reverts to baby, and you sell your icon but want them back later, do you have to do the objectives again or when you purchase the icon back it turns back into the version that you have worked towards?
Think it's a great idea personally, just curious what you would suggest for these hypothetical questions?

In MLB the Show they have a system like you were talking about. It’s called player XP and it’s 5 levels you earn xp from playing with them and performing well. You can even do it offline. It boosts stats the higher player XP you get. It would be a nice addition to FIFA.

This was a good top 5 Fut card of all time. He was absolutely mental.
I feel like it would be an interesting concept if instead of discarding the cards they used they have to discard someone of the same value on FUT 22. It’s a way to keep discards a meaningful concept and would be more entertaining to see say a TOTS on fifa 22 discard instead of a player on an old fifa which has no impact

Correction, John Madden is one of the best coaches to ever coach American Football.. Hence why ea signed a contract with him to name the game after him while he went to commentary after he retired from coaching. He’s actually really iconic, not just a pundit .

for what it’s worth, the NFL game’s not just called Madden, it’s called Madden NFL…it’s commonly known as madden but they do still have to pay loads to the NFL just like FIFA
