The thing some may notice between a Wells Wayne and a Lifeguard Wayne is the location of the windshield wipers. The Lifeguard Waynes always had the wipers on the bottom. The Welles bodies where some of them had the Divco truck windshield had the wipers that hung from the top instead of the bottom. Superior for a while also had a few buses with jackknife doors, but on some of their models, like the ones that were built in the early 1960s had what some would call the reverse jackknife door. Instead of folding forward, they would fold backwards. I rode some of the Welles models as well as the Lifeguards.

Ahh yes, the ol Wayne screeching door lol. And the AT545 whine.

This bus sounds fantastic. Second the non-chatting video suggestion. Question: do these 545’s (assume that’s what it is) jump back and forth between the gears like the old 540’s?

Love the bus. Would love a riding video of this but without all the talking in the background (interesting discussion though). Carrolton crash was about 6 years after Superior went out of business BTW.
