The music of FFXIV is pretty much on par; and better, than most of the FF series in general.
Even after its long and gone offline; it's gonna stick with me lol

It's incredible. Even my husband who's only made it to ARR fell in love with the primals.. and then I told him where the music came from...

Now that’s a treat so few games inspire the fans to unit for😎 been a while chief, I see that your fully on board with everything 14. Even though I haven’t been on for nearly two years, I can still say yeah I’m with this. Once I get a few things settled with rl, I plan on returning

I dont know what it is, but the two that get me emotional in all of ffxiv are Footfalls and Close in the Distance when both hit the Forge Ahead lines.

the Song of Hope section is the part that gives me the most chills, and brings me to tears lol.
The Endsinger fight and the track that plays in it will always be one of the best boss fights ever made in my eyes, just for the sheer spectacle and the weight of the moment in the context of the story. So that Song of Hope melody ALWAYS gives me chills haha

It's absolutely incredible. After filming this, I had a hard time gathering myself. Honestly, great decision to not "live react" for this one.

Your 'reaction' is about as much as I expected, awe, chills, tears, I think we all went through every phase, although I'd argue we all had tears at different moments perhaps. Still, lovely.

Husky does have some seriously mad skills!
I was blown away when he released his cover of P12 (or was it P11?) in less than 3 days after 6.4 was released. I was like "Dayum! He ain't messing around!"

As one of the singers who took part, it still astounds me just how hard it hits home and how much it hits others - those who knows the game and those who don't! ^^

A lil wild, but I gotta say: I hate being new, only due to being SO behind plus a completionist.
I really love story-stuff and taking my time, and despite what everyone tells me doing all the sidequests as they appear. Also despite what people seem to say, I loved ARR. But ffxiv has like... so so SO much *stuff*, and pretty much everyone is SO far ahead. Everything I want/like is behind tons of quests and raids and pvp and gold saucer and crafting and trials and dungeons and some systems I've heard of but apparently haven't even reached *unlocking* yet- it's gonna take me months to get... "there"? The end? Anywhere? Or idk even know where. And now with Dawntrail and the opportunity to do new things with others for the first time... I'm feelin it more than ever. Really don't wanna miss the start of that one.
I understand everyone says to take my time and that it's great and all that I am (and still plan to), but it's really just not the same. Coming from someone who's played Guild Wars then Guild Wars 2 since the almost series inception (roughly 15 years for me), I understand the feeling of being someone who's 'been there' through an mmo's life vs being the new kid. As sweet as the ffxiv community makes being 'the new kid'/ a sprout be, it really doesn't feel all that great xD
I feel so disconnected from... everyone, and my FC. All these players walking around with emotes and fashion idk if I'll ever even figure out how to get, with inside jokes and connections. It kills the motivation to keep playing pretty strong and quite fast. Also being used to gw2's lack of sub fee is another reason. Regardless of all that I still love the game and lots of people are very nice.
Now the reason for all this:
But WOW, the music. First of all, music moves me deeply, especially game music. Second, I always get messed up and emotional easily with large choirs/groups of people coming together to make music, especially from/about something deeply meaningful to them. This medley still hits hard even though I only started playing a couple months ago (I'm somewhere within Heavensward right now (mildly spoiled on this and that thing for the game overall, how could I not be lol. But I'm not one who minds spoilers for stuff too much). Even if I'm quite discouraged stuff like this gives me the energy to stick with the game and not give up on it.
Gosh sorry for the novel, but I got pretty passionate after this. You got me crying extra hard once you started crying! curses 😂

Aweee yeah it’s easy to lose it in these.
Whats unique to ffxiv is that there is no “requirement” to run through it. You won’t “miss anything” you can experience every bit of it like the day it landed.

I hope youve made some good progress in the past three months, but just in case I'll say this anyway. I understand the feeling of being behind and being pressured to catch up, even if its all coming from yourself. I'm sure you are familiar with all the cliches by now so I'll attempt some originality. The journey each of us takes through XIV is special, some take it more seriously than others of course (looking at you, person in the roulettes named "Viewing Cutscene"), but ultimately it is our own personal journey as the Warrior of Light. So far as missing out, I think this community is good about helping involve people and explaining past fun memes and such, and realistically I think the only thing you can actually miss out on are seasonal events, but the items return or are put in the store the following year. If you truly feel so disconnected from everyone around you, I'd say you need some new friends, I am helping 3 of my friends through the game now, trying to stay engaged with them and wanting to know how they feel at impactful moments to them. I made an entirely new character to play through it with one of them, so if you need a connection feel free to reach out. The only thing waiting for you at the end of the MSQ is waiting really, there is other endgame stuff to do and it is quite fun, but I dont think anyone would disagree that the MSQ is the main journey we all go on together. I'm sure by now you know that a smile suits a hero best, or heroine, and thats what you are, thats what we all are. When I see new people enjoying the game I feel a happiness, that they are walking the same path and enjoying it, and that one day we will meet at the end, while we wait for the path to continue. If there is anything I can can ever do feel free to reach out, we are all Scions here.
