Hector was the best. He owned his audience. He could be near the knuckle but never nasty.....plus he was actually funny! Sadly missed but fondly remembered.
My auld man asked if Hector Nicol was on YT? I said 'who?' And then proceeded to look. I am glad I did. An old school comic at his best! I had never heard of him before today. A proper scream!
When I was a young man, I worked in the gaety theatre in kirkgate Leith. I remember Hector, he played straight man to comedian Johnny Victory. One of their famous skits wastwo statues coming alive at night. Hector was Rabby Burns and Johnny, McGonagall. Hilarious
Ps we are still watching Hector on various yt posts and crying wae laughter...didn't realise he had such tragedies in his life but he carried on...knew he wisnae fae Edinburgh wi that accent...when have you ever heard of a comedian from Edinburgh as the big yin once said...God Bless Hector a comic genious and all his own material 😆😆😆

My Grannies brother... She played piano in the silent cinemas aged 15.. his brother Joe ran ENSA concerts abroad in the war.. it aint half hot mum... he retired to run a theatre in wales.. Bertie ran petrol stations .. and invented for the war dept,,
A neighbour of mine john Lowe always had hector at his house when i was growing up in kirkcaldy my neighbour was a co comedian too by the name clawed balls. Funny MAN he was
If you listen to all the other comedians they are all based on this great man. He was never really recognised for how good he was. Very rarely used bad language, good comics don't need to swear.
Surprised that Hector could hold a tune so well. Ok not a brilliant voice but very listenable, there’s no earache at all, and a guaranteed laugh. I’ve got his LP’s weans, ask yer granny. RIP funny man❤️🕊️👍
The Master at work R.I.P Hector
