She did truly care for the homeless as I myself can say that when I first met aunt ruby, I was just a teenager living on the streets of Adelaide city n I remember she gave me a blanket to keep warm n showed me where to go for a feed. May she truly Rest In Peace ❤
Brings me to tears every time. Ruby Hunter's version of Down City Streets is just so haunting. She was electric live. Damn she could light up a room. She was such an amazing talent. Vale Ruby and Archie
I don't know why but Aunt Ruby reminds me so much of Buffy St.Marie an Aboriginal woman singer from Saskatchewan, Canada who is so well known all over North America. Sorry for Ruby passing away she sounds like a remarkable woman and a very talented singer too. ❤ 😢 The Aborigines in Australia have suffered so much just as the Indigenous people of Canada and America have suffered so much too. As a White man I am sorry for what happened in both countries, even though I had nothing to do with it. 🙏 Prayers 🙏 😢
Beautiful. Simply Beautiful. Love Ruby's music. Sang with so much love, pain, tenderness and raw emotion.Ruby and Archie's music had brought tears of joy and also tears of shame at times. Two Beautiful Souls gone But Never to Be Forgotten. Thanks for This Wonderful Upload. Regards Frank
I am living on the opposite side of the world from Australia, in Newfoundland, Canada. And sad to say children have suffered the same treatment over here for many years. Only recently in western Canada were graves of many children discovered in unmarked graves near buildings, many run by churches, government agencies for many years back. I first heard of Archie & Ruby only last week; (Feb 2020) when my good friend Susie from South Australia sent me the URL's of some of their music. Thank You Susie. Susie and I met online about 20 years ago and have shared music of both our countries over those years. It's a real eye-opener to learn how the same sad things have happened all over this world, often at the hands of those who should have been protecting children. I thank Archie & Ruby (RIP) for sharing their music and helping to educate others in this world and also helping make the lives of those victims of abuse find some form of peace. Keep up the good work Archie, you and Ruby are loved around this world. Don; Newfoundland, Canada
I have read about those cases in Canada... Sad to say I have read about similar cases that have occurred around the world... And not just the children but the horrendous treatment of the original habitants of lands around the world. Same story, just different parts of the world. Now Archie is also gone. Just finished reading his book. I big brotherly hug to you DonBob P.
I first heard this beautiful song on Archie’s Charcoal Lane and then had the privilege of hearing Ruby sing it with Archie at several of his concerts - always brings tears to my eyes - love you Ruby - RIP
'I look around, and understand, how street kids feel, when they're put down'. Beautiful...such compassion and understanding. Thanks Ruby...and Archie. Respect.
Now we lost uncle aswell. Both voices will live on through song and spirit. It was about 20 years ago I first met these two and I still play there music to my kids so the music goes on.
They are the best Australia has ever and will produce we are blessed to have heard them. I am blessed to have them in 1996 in Townsville they sang to me and a few others live. It was magic.

A truly international anthem about homelessness. It could be translated into any language.
What about the babies lost in the 1970s. Unmarried mothers lost babies,
