Ralf Souquet, Mike Sigel, Efren Reyes, Shane Van Boening there are lots of them. But it doesn't mean that I don't like Potts, he plays outstanding really and is one my favorites.
Eren, players you just mentioned are great but they play another discipline of pool. In Chinese 8 ball they would be demolished by Potts. So would be the opposite. Different games.

The Chinese 8 ball tables have tiny pockets, so the players can't play with the same style and panache as Reyes and Strickland, it's all very controlled tidy.
I think you're right. This table is far too fast. I don't think the pockets would be a problem for Efren or Mike Sigel they are traditional players they played to maybe smaller pockets but both got old. Young Earl the Pearl would kick his arse lol so do Efren and Mike. But I still am doubtful about Ralf. I think he may kick Potts' ass even on this table.

So here's a guy who only plays one "pool" game/tournament. He is good, very good. But how good? The best European player (imo) is Jayson Shaw. Shaw plays, 8, 9, 10, straight, rotation, one pocket & bank pool. Qualifies for the Mosconi seemingly every year & plays in the Chinese 8 ball tournament. Gareth... not so much. I mean if playing pool on a bar box is beneath European players... why aren't they cleaning house in the major pool tournaments? How is SVB or Reyes the best players to hold cues? Why can an aged Johnny Archer beat a Ronnie O'Sullivan at his prime in an IPT 8 ball tournament? For as good as European players claim to be or as easy as they make pool sound... they aren't exactly setting the pool world on fire. When it comes to playing position on tables with "buckets" for pockets, they don't seem to understand how to cheat angles. They're safety games seem to go out the window as well. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Montana Kid I wouldn't call this Chinese 8 ball tables bar boxes, most 9 ball players can hardly pot a ball on these tables, SVN who is the best player in the world after efren reyes has a very hard time playing this tournament. Those are the same cyclops balls used in America, Chinese 8 ball tables are 9 foot like a gold crown Brunswick but have smaller pockets similar to the ones on a snooker table, the cloth is also very slow rolling nappy.
Who can honestly take this American game seriously when the tables are just to easy, it’s a joke. Anyone can play American pool well. Its a lottery game cause the skill gap is next to none. You think you are a really good player.... until you give Chinese 8ball or snooker a try.

Table is 9 foot by 5 foot same size as a standard American Pool table. The balls are 2 and 1/4 inches (American Pool Balls). Pockets are 3.34 inches.
