1:17 hypothetically speaking, if there is no rook on b7, the pawn still can't capture the pawn on e6 because the black king is in check by the bishop on b2 if the pawn were to move (again, assuming there was no rook on b7), it could only go f6, not fxe6.
@@luqmaanhay4957 yes, that's correct. i was just pointing out that the reason the pawn can't take the pawn is not actually the pin (as implied in the video), but rather, the bishop check if you were to remove that rook, the capture wouldn't still be possible
It would be nice if the first one was so constructed so that we could logically prove (by retroanalysis) that the previous move was the double pawn push. In the second position, the blind spot (at least for me) was that the Queen was pinned, so cannot move! In the fourth position, BOTH rooks could intercept, destroying the checkmate if the knight went to the wrong square. In te fifth position, Qa2+ doesn't work, since the rook can intercept it. However, if that answer is found, the correct solution would be trivial.
I literally found every checkmate pretty fast, first one was easy mainly because I already knew the answer (I solved this puzzle a long time ago). I'm not lying by the way. Finding M1 is pretty easy if enemy's king can't move, or if... SPOILER ALERT ...its moves indicate what piece has to give a check :)
1. Tell yourself it's mate in one every move 2. If it's mate in one, you will find the mate 3. If it's not mate in one, you will not find the move 4. On step 3, rinse and repeat until you get a mate in one
The knight checkmates AND double checks are such a beauty beacuse dpuble checks it doesnt matter if the queen takes the knight or blocks the rook the king is still in checksy checksycle and its checkmate
I managed the first puzzle because I immediately noticed the bishop that would have checkmated if the pawn wasn't there, so I thought of en passant as the only possible solution.
Hey @Chessscape ! for the first puzzle isn't Qf6 also a mate in one? I'm a beginner in chess and I've been trying to figure it out since an hour. Anyone please help.
really good puzzles the hardest ones for me were 6:20 and 4:37 was a bit confusing cuz i didnt see numbers i thought wait pawn can block then i realised im stupid and found the actual move it was really fun and challenging the diagonal check i found almost as soon i looked at the board some of those are really easy if u look if king has any moves but lets not forget in-game we miss very easy moves sometimes cuz we dont focus in the entire board
im not great at chess, (so if this doesn't work thats why) i thought the first one was queen f6 cuz the king has to move back to g8 and then knight takes
Without watching the Solution of the first puzzle only the first 20 seconds, „you habe to know blacks last move“ that is quite a big hint, obviously it has to be a en passant, and the only possible en Passant i see here is with the pawn on d5
When u said ‘ the rook takes the bishop isn’t checkmate because the queen can block’ but I realized even if the queen blocks we take it and it’s checkmate
If you've been watching the previous vids, you should've been able to instantly solve the first one 😎
Fr, en passant
true
💯
I did
So true
The second he says "only way to find solution is to know the last move" I knew that the first puzzle solution was dxe6 en passant checkmate.
Same it was the easiest of the bunch tbh
wrong. its actually called en croissant
Me aswell
mw aswell
4:26 Sounds like me when I try and find mate: (Finds only move that doesnt lead to checkmate)
why couldnt you just move the king?
@@Icantfindanoriginalhandlethe king cant move
@Icantfindanoriginalhandle bro think before you say
"Only one move to not checkmate the king"
Move king from g8 to f8 💀
So checking yourself is an option now ig
THERE IS A BISHOP
Bishop on c5: "Am I a joke to you? 🙎"
In the first one can't you just move queen to f6. That is also checkmate as the rook is protecting the queen
Kxh6

Yes! Please post more mate in 1 content! Love it!
sure 😉

In the first one you just move de queen to f6 an its checkmate
you lose the knight on h6 😎
black takes the knight on edge and escapes
Is not.king takes knight on h6..
Love this content!
More of these please

Found checkmate within 1 minute after looking for checks after accidentally looking for them instead of checkmate.
In the 5th puzzle (9:10) knight g7 check mate right
Im also thinking that
GREAT VID this really helps and I can see these stuff better in chess games now!
I got all of these correct. I can now say that I can find any mate in 1 as long as I am told it's mate in 1.
1. Tell yourself it's mate in one every move
2. If it's mate in one, you will find the mate
3. If it's not mate in one, you will not find the move
4. On step 3, rinse and repeat until you get a mate in one
@@danielyuan9862 how to win every game
In the rook takes bishop scenario or the bishop check scenario the queen is absolutely undefended
What about 1. Nc7# in the puzzle where You moved Qc4#? Aren‘t there two correct solutions?
um... in the how to not checkmate when you gave us the answer at around 5.55, can't you also move the white king?
In the first one, what stops you from doing qf6?
Edit: Nvm I see that the king could just take the knight.
I like that last one - the only way out of a double check is to move the King
The knight checkmates AND double checks are such a beauty beacuse dpuble checks it doesnt matter if the queen takes the knight or blocks the rook the king is still in checksy checksycle and its checkmate
7:29 rook on h3: I Can block the bishop checks like my brother on c1
9:11 I moved the queen diagonally where he put it I got it only in wrong direction/opposite dirrection
For the first one, just move queen to f6. You don't need to know what black did last
For the 2nd puzzle what about Qg8 checkmate
Chesscape, you should do an il vaticano puzzle or even a dea dei cavalli, it teaches people new moves and it would be very good for improvement
Hi, I like your vids and I have a question. Instead of doing qc4 can’t you do kg7 in 9:11. Keep up the great work btw.
Нет это не мат он F6
Wdym by "In 911" 😟
On the 1st one, could you do queen to F6 checkmate? Or am I just being blind
5:50 that’s fine but if you move the king, it’s not checkmate either 😂
On the fifth puzzle, wouldn't Knight to c7 or g7 also be mate?
in second puzzle we can just take bishp then take queen and checkmate why do we have to do the 1 move checkmate which is kinda harder to find.
5:38 checkmate with bishop to from A8 to B7
9:13 knight e8 to g7 checkmate
Ng7 and nc7 are both mates
@@crackedleopardI was about to say that but you beat me to the punch
Actually, knight from e8 to g7 is impossible because it is pinned by the rook.
@@minecrafterandmoregames9989oh dang your right

nice thinking process 😎
For the 3rd puzzle the position isn't even possible you can't have two light squared bishops
i never thougt that finding mate in 1 was hard
Me too :/
Is the third one O-O, assuming I am playing chess 960 and haven't moved the king?
But what if you promote the other pawn, the pawn beside the rook?
Hey @Chessscape ! for the first puzzle isn't Qf6 also a mate in one? I'm a beginner in chess and I've been trying to figure it out since an hour. Anyone please help.
If Qf6+, king takes knight
Bro I solved the all the five questions except for the 2th
The knight can also checkmate beacause the king is covering f7 and the other checkmate is kg7#
really good puzzles the hardest ones for me were 6:20 and 4:37 was a bit confusing cuz i didnt see numbers i thought wait pawn can block then i realised im stupid and found the actual move it was really fun and challenging the diagonal check i found almost as soon i looked at the board some of those are really easy if u look if king has any moves but lets not forget in-game we miss very easy moves sometimes cuz we dont focus in the entire board
The second one I thought of that, but I forgot about the pin.
in 2nd one you can also move the queen directly in front
im not great at chess, (so if this doesn't work thats why) i thought the first one was queen f6 cuz the king has to move back to g8 and then knight takes
In last second puzzle u can checkmate with the knight on d8
bro just why he doesnt move the queen to F6 in the first problem
edit: im sorry i just noticed king can just take the knight and its not checkmate
Without watching the Solution of the first puzzle only the first 20 seconds, „you habe to know blacks last move“ that is quite a big hint, obviously it has to be a en passant, and the only possible en Passant i see here is with the pawn on d5
In the fifth puzzle if u moved the knight to c7 it would have also been checkmate
For the one trying not to mate can’t you move the king to G7 resulting in a stalemate.
That’s the only positions Martin is better than us
In the first puzzle he could do queen f6 checkmate because queen has the corner and it's defended by the rook
But the knight is hanging
What about the king move not to checkmate
On the second puzzle, somehow QB7 is also mate.
No, that is an illegal move. White will be in check if the white queen moves away from the diagonal, it is pinned by the black bishop on g8
for the second one I kept saying “QUEEN B3”
You can also play Qb7#, the queen is protected by the bishop, and the knights are protected by the queen
No you cannot.. The Queen is pinned by the black Bishop. She can only move back diagonally.
@@hayah1983 my bad, i think i skipped the video and didn't realize it
If you moved your knight to c7 in fifth puzzle it would have also been checkmate
But the realized I was watching 1 move checkmates not just checkmates lol
5:00 ah yes, from M1, to NOT M1.
The title is right😂
Got only 2 correct...... You really are an amazing mentor for me
On 8:52, aren't Ng7# and Nc7#?
On the third puzzle the bishops are on the same color 💀💀
Dxe6 enpassent checkmate, I seen this before, once you said "you can only solve it if you know what was the last move" i solved it
The pawn in f7 cant take the pawn beacuse the king is being check so you should say the pawn in f7 cant go to f6 cause its pin
The winning, move is queen F6 am I correct?
In the first puzzle queen to f6 then it is checkmate
for the 3rd one you could move the king
Who else feels like magnus carlsen every time they solve these chess puzzles💀
Me fr🦅
In the 2nd problem Q b2 is also checkmate...
9:12 if im not mistaken a6 is also checkmate
2:32 your brain really tricks you when seeing the puzzle (if its an actual game then this would be easy (only if they dont notice that one rook)
puzzle one i had gotten qf6 checkmate
Night.. C7 is another checkmate for the puzzle 3
I saw night c7 too
He should’ve seen it
In first one, I’m confused why you can’t move the queen to f6 checkmate, it’s protected by the rook and still leads to checkmate
Same
king takes knight 😅
@@chessscapeOHHHHH I WAS WONDERING WHY WE CANT JUST DO QUEEN F6
@Chessscape The puzzle at 08:00 minute mark in your video, isn’t knight to g7 checkmate as well? I didn’t spot the queen move though…
That s also an answer
how?! the rook covers right
No, you must have misplaced the rook on b8 😅
And the rook on h4 too because both knight to c7 and knight to g7 work
Oh we missed the pin I juste realised
In puzzle 3 queen to be is mate as well
"Think about the last move made by black"
Me: EN PASSANT
When u said ‘ the rook takes the bishop isn’t checkmate because the queen can block’ but I realized even if the queen blocks we take it and it’s checkmate
but not in 1 ;)
why cant u just Qf6#?
Can you do queen f6?
In the first, you van also move a Queen, no?
The 3rd one can't he just move the white king to f7 or g7 like
The one where dont checkmate u choulve moved the king to
I felt really proud of myself solving some until he said they were the easy ones
1: dxe6#
2: Qb3#
3: Rc6+
4: Nc3#
5:Qc4#
6: g8=N#
If you see the doble bishop in do not chech the king thers 2 bishop in white but only 1 is in white and black
You are the best when it comes to puzzles!!!!!!
Maybe you can't believe this but i found every checkmates in just 5 second
Me solving these puzzles: easy 🗿🍷
Me while playing real games: h4 h5 go brrrr
2:07 bro if he cover with the queen i can take the queen and its checkmate
thats mate in 2
in the first puzzle Qf6+ checkmate
Chesscape: Train ur visualisation
Me: *when this is played in teh real game i resign*
Chesscape: 😡
2:11 then, you take the queen with mate
I might be wrong but on the fifth one isn’t knight g7 checkmate?
YEAH I THINK IT'S ALSO A CHECKMATE
Thanks soo much Bro I solved 5/6 its soo usefull ❣
Welcome 😊
5min 30 you have 2 white square bishops
3:09 I saw it and thought it was checkmate but for some reason I ignored the knights and my mind totally went 🗿
I mean, I figured them out, so I must be 3000 elo
at the third puzzle white is on 8th rank
1 why not Qf5?
In the puzzle before the last one knight g7# is also an answer
its pinned
All of the puzzle is so easy. I solve them within 10 seconds
i ll come up with harder ones than 😅
