    If only we could just have books levitate in front of our face and turn the page with our mind without any struggle

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Apparently you can get a remote for the Kindle that turns pages, so with the stand, you could get pretty darn close to magic. (:

      It’s possible, put the book on an robot arm, use face and eye tracking camera. You could make it turn if you stare at a certain point, or use a neurosky headset to turn the page when you focus

    I agree entirely with this review. We have something very similar that worked great when I was recovering from a neck injury and had limited mobility. It now works great as a music stand, holding books or sheet music in place while being easy to adjust for different instruments.

      True, I wish I had it back when I was taking drum lessons. Was always such a pain, trying to fit a normal stand in between the drums and cymbals. Would be great for metal drummers with 60 different parts to their kit, ha!

    Thanks for your review. I ordered mine. I needed a better way to read my Bible and read reformed theology literature after a hard day's work. I, too, find it difficult to use my hands constantly trying to focus on my book. This hands-free setup should bring ease and comfort along with more reading capabilities as I lay in bed or a lazy boy.

    Thank you so much Andrew for making this video. I was looking to purchase this very stand. Decades of reading books (which I love) and computer/laptop use has severely affected my neck, back, and shoulders…
    As you mentioned in the video, you lost interest in reading due to the physical pain. Well, so did I.
    Hopefully, this stand can revive that interest…
    Greetings from Delhi, India.

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Leandra! Yea, I've been using it to read on my back in bed for years now. One of the best things I've ever bought. Makes it so relaxing and so easy to get to sleep. Might not work if you had a tall bed, though. You could always put it on a riser or something, I suppose.

  • @Eric19401

  • @leonthesleepy

    I will say that all these book holders always seem to cause spine damage to my books. Especially hardcovers. I didnt know this until after i finished a book, and realise the back had a pretty nasty crease where the back cover folded.

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bet you could rig up something where you secured one side of the book, and then used a folded piece of cardboard or something, so that the book stayed open at 120 degrees. You'd have to turn the holder back and forth, but if you were holding it yourself and didn't want to open it all the way, you'd have to do that anyway.

      @@rarestlego I do have an on-table drawing stand that can be used for books, but rarely use it for that, since the book is too low. That's why I like the rolling stand-you can get it up to eye level, you're not looking and crinking your neck.

    I am looking for someone who is paralyzed on the left side. If I put the book in the Levo stand for him, would it be possible for him to turn pages with one hand? In all the videos I've watched, people use two hands.

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Sally, yep, I've done it myself, for example, when I'm holding a mug in one hand and turning pages with the other. You press your thumb on the page, pull the tab up and place it off to the right, then turn the page, using your arm to hold the book open as you repeat the process on the left, then move the tab back on the right.

    the downside with these stands/holders are that the pages are curled when u lock the pages up with those straps. This make reading a little uncomfortable since u dont have a straight page to read from. I deal with this by straighten the curled page out for easier vision.

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've always just used the straps for the cover, not the pages. Then I set the metal prongs slightly outside the book, so they have an outward pulling effect that keeps the pages straight.
