That pink one looked awesome! I would have loved to see some LED's and stobe lights on that dark one! I got to ride a slide like that in Germany and it blew my mind! Felt like I was traveling through time and space!
I have been on a camping that had a very long slide but also with good curves and speed to good actually cause if I (and other people) would go max speed you would just fly over that extra high sidewall so yeah lol that pool was nice (heated water (solar heat panel thingy's) so not as cold it where 2 pools with nice stones on the outside also it was all rvs and just WOW JUST WOW it was amazing
Well there goes my lunch !! 🤑lol SOME people have the BEST jobs !! I'm betting you HATE having to test them rides on a hot sunny day ... tragic 😎 Great vid as ALWAYS fella !!
One time on the pink slide at typhoon Texas, me and my cousin were going on it for a nice ride, then I was trying to get on the raft and he thought I was already on and left me hanging!!!! It was so funny but I eventually went down on a one person raft.
Make sure the riding tubes arent getting hung up in the slide tubes/safety hazards like broken slide tubes major cracks are there belly's (low spots full of water) to indicate the ride has sunk downwards making the tubes miss aligned (not always detectable by eye)
I've always wondered, what happens if you fall off the tube? Do you get stuck? Do you get any injuries at all going down 'bareback'? Is there any risk of someone flying out of the open slides on a corner?
TPG : WOOO WOOO ITS COLD ITS COLD!!!! *random voice from the pipe* : man up! :| p.s is it still sad im interested about the lighting used to light up the slides ? lol
I guess this is the toughest part of your job isn't it. I guess it is easy to work on the mechanical systems and know everything is within the approved specs, but you still have to actually ride these things. I wish the facility manager of my local waterpark is required to test ride the slides, the one bowl ride needs a good looking over as me and some other riders keep overturning in the enclosed tube section before the bowl and we end up belly sliding (did followed the posted rules - hold on the handles at all times or until you're upside down and the handles are ripped out of your hand by force) Do you get to "test" the lazy river?
True story, my podiatrist warned me to never walk bare foot basice of how bad my anckles are. He said, " if you get up in the middle of the night to pee , you will put on tennis shoes!" That's how serious he was
Maybe one day you should try increasing the flow rate on the orange slide to see if you can make it a little more exciting and get riders a tiny bit higher coming into the funnel.
@@Zeamus634 we have only a town of 25k have a small wave pool, a zero depth kids area and a swim lane pool for 8 with 2 water slides 1 tube and 1 normal
Hey, so, earlier this year I was at an indoor water park in Scotland (an on site thing) and I had an accident. I went down the race slides, got to the end and when I went to get out the slide slopes up to the drainage point, I thought my feet had better grip... Well, now I know they don't. I fell down and my knees hit the drainage grate. No bleeding, and after a few minutes I was fine, despite the 2 life guards that came and said "are you ok? We saw you shaking" to which I said the most brused thing was my ego lol. I did get a big lump on my knee where I fell, but that's the fun of a water park, right? Well, after that I found Aqua shoes. So these let water flow through, but, when I'm stood on them give me the grip my feet need. So I have to ask... How strict are you guys on the no shoes policy? Because it looks like my feet have shoes on, but they're aqua shoes to give me grip for what is, in a water park, a disability.
Really satisfying videos after a long day... I don't know if this is the case for everybody, but for me - even as a subcribed viewer from Germany, your channel or videos are not even close to top of the list when I use the search and look for you manuelly... For an unsubcriped user it's hard to find you by coincidence or just again... There are many Pool-channels when I exactly tipe in "ThePoolGuy"... quite sad...
The temperatures near houston where this park is located were 50's at that time the rain dropped super cold near freezing water. There were multiple hail storms and tornados spawned from this storm. The temperatures there around this time of year are aroud low to mid 80's they can get up to 100+ and add in humidity
@@thepoolguy i know. But your video makes us want to go to the closest park. Of course i would rather travel your way and do a few tour vids with tips for guests. Maybe we will make it there sooner than later. Thanks for the cool vids. 👍😁🤠
Favorite video so far. Listening to you squeal at the cold water 😂😂 I'd squeal too so its ok.
Always a good day when there’s a pool guy episode
yep
You were like “I’m out of shape” my brain responds “that’s okay round is a shape”
The Pool Guy, in a pool!? What sorcery is this? 😂
I can just feel you reverting back to being a kid when you're screaming, "it's cold, it's so sold". 💯😂👍🏾❤️

Hey you got yourself a real nice set up there little bit of something for everybody very nice thanks for the video my friend
Okay, I laughed out loud when you sat down in the tube on the green ride and screamed because the water was cold. 😂
You made me feel cold from squealing about the cold water. Sitting here i could feel the cold water.
"Argghhh, it's so cold" ,think i'll turn that into a ringtone ROFL
Holy buckets! Out of shape?! I couldn't even make it half way up the steps the first time.
Dude that back wall of the wave pool is just so crisp and clean
Glad it wasn't me...brrr!!! That was fun!! Hope you do that again! 😊
That cold front hit us hard up here in central Canada, dumped a bunch of snow too. We’re still dealing with overland flooding issues from the weekend
Are you in Manitoba? I drove through MB on my way back to northeast Ontario from Alberta. I was amazed by how much water is in the farm fields.
If we lived closer to ya'll we'd be happy to be test dummies! 🤣 Nice POVS though! Can't wait to visit again! 😁
Please message me when yall do come out again! Colab?
@@thepoolguy Awesome! Will do! 😁
The Pool Guy fitness program: Climb all the towers twice in 10mins...Go! :P
This is the content I come here for, seeing the slides in action! Would be cool to see that massive Texas flag boomerang one
🤣🤣🤣🤣 the cold water got me laughing out loud! Awesome video! Thanks for freezing for our enjoyment
Better you than me. I'm a wimp when it comes to cool weather and water parks.
"I'm out of shape" ... Yep, can relate... By the way, I like the (new?) channel logo!
Thank you, glad someone noticed, lol!
'test rides'..... Suuuuuure hehe
Hey, NY water ride I get to ride, without any line.. Is my favorite!!
YOU HAVE SUCH A BADASS JOB!!!
“I like pink cause it’s open” I like when the pink’s open too 😼😂💀
The scream when you say down in the water caught me off guard 😂
Great way to have fun on the job!
You got that right!
1:35 haha. Doesn't look the warmest there! What was the temperature that day?
Wonderfull, its cold🙈🙈🙈🙈😉😉
This is something rare on youtube
it`s cold it`s cold it`s cold, yeah, and that is where you let kids swim/play in. put some heating into it so everybody will like it.

I know this is probably the busiest time of the year but so thankful for a pool guy video
The bowl slides are my favorite. Ours is called Whirlpool at my park.
If you’re in a cold snap that usually heads our way in the UK!

Ha ha that day wasn't hot n sunny 🤣
Oh yea ... TRY and do that here in the UK in April !! Lol

Don't let anyone even yourself say your outta shape. They taught you your shapes in grade school and round is a shape.
Just got CPO certified in Texas, and this is absolutely what I want to do with it!
TeamOrange!
No man should ever scream that high! :D
Team approves!
I think it's cold 😎
Gentlemen... we all know the moment when "the boys" hit the water
Very cool as always!
Do you guys have sprayers for the stairs when it’s hot?
The stairs don't get too too toasty. Because the wet rafts and tubes drip water onto the stairs.
What are you looking for when you're doing these test rides?
Fun obviously
Make sure the riding tubes arent getting hung up in the slide tubes/safety hazards like broken slide tubes major cracks are there belly's (low spots full of water) to indicate the ride has sunk downwards making the tubes miss aligned (not always detectable by eye)
Like the new Logo!
a good day at work
I've always wondered, what happens if you fall off the tube? Do you get stuck? Do you get any injuries at all going down 'bareback'?
Is there any risk of someone flying out of the open slides on a corner?
Probably the kind of cold you want to soak in if you got a nasty sunburn like I do right now.
Mmmmm. Cheese and rice.
What a job
That's so mean of them to make you ride the slides.
Bro you are the best
Btw I am from Cyprus and I am waiting every day to see your videos
Nice one glad we finally get to see some slide runs. Is the air cold or just the water?
I'd have to say it's the water based on his initial reaction on the first slide (green)
Air temp was around mid 60's low 70's water temperature was down to mid to low 50's
Can you do a video on how the red light green light stuff works?
Sounds like a plan.
TPG : WOOO WOOO ITS COLD ITS COLD!!!!
*random voice from the pipe* : man up! :|
p.s is it still sad im interested about the lighting used to light up the slides ? lol
Lol, these slides do echo, so maybe you did hear that.... I tuned it out apparently. 😛
Love the video. Can you show us what happens when the emergency stop is pressed?
Yes, so someone else asked about the red light green light. E stops are for those lights
@@thepoolguy Aren't there E stops that shut the tower off if something goes wrong?
@@FireAlarmHowTooGuy there are as well yes.
@@thepoolguy In a future video, could you hit one of them so we can see what happens in the pump house?
I would have to buy a wetsuit. I can't stand cold water.

Yes, I get to test the river. I also get to Motivate it... "Go River!"
You better complain to the maintenance and operations department about the COLD water temperatures!!
Just curious how does one that is handicap ride the slides? Is it possible?
Maybe it's time to invest in a solar water heating system, use the heat the rooves and pavement absorb to keep the water toasty
Not worth the investment. Would be used 1 maybe 2 days a year.
Which water park is that?
Boy, we can tell your feet don't spend much time outside shoes .... ;-)
True story, my podiatrist warned me to never walk bare foot basice of how bad my anckles are. He said, " if you get up in the middle of the night to pee , you will put on tennis shoes!" That's how serious he was
@@thepoolguy ouch! I've been lucky in that regard, and try to stay barefoot as much as possible to keep my ankles strong.
Will slide boarding ever return ?
No, it's just too much work to keep working.
ThePoolGuy, Whats the name of this water park and where is this located?
This is Typhoon Texas, located in Katy Texas
I think this guy likes cheese and rice 🗿
I do... don't you
You need a wet suit when doing these slides this early. That how to way up in a hurry
Maybe one day you should try increasing the flow rate on the orange slide to see if you can make it a little more exciting and get riders a tiny bit higher coming into the funnel.
Actually, less water makes it faster.
@@thepoolguy Really? How?
Our mini water park is heated if needed
Bet that's expensive!
