"You don’t need all things..." doesn't just apply to colouring! Mantra for life 🥰
Hehe yes if only I could follow my own logic 🤣
Wonderful video! Lots of tips! I would say that Polychromos is actually not for the heavy handed because they are oil and require a very light hand and lots of layers. Using pressure with them actually doesn’t get you the colors you want. They are the opposite of Prismas. I have lots of hand pain and the Polys are perfect because I don’t have to use any pressure at all. And now that I’ve been an annoying opinionated subscriber I want to say that i am SO glad you are back! I love your videos! ❤❤❤
Not annoying or opinionated in any way Hun....it's nice to share our different thoughts on things and I can definitely see where you are coming from .....thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I have a lot of pain in my hands and I prefer polychromos too as can be used lightly for layers.
I Have MS Your I Get A Lot Of Spasms An Cramps In My Hands, An Back Your Tips Are Excellent
This is amazing Emma I wish this video was around when I first started for the advice on the pencils my pencil collection is very much like yours from prismas to Polly’s to luminance to Albert Durer holbines colour soft most of derwent pencils castle arts Artezas and many more.. do I use all no I just collect I had to stop buying and use what I have.. my wish list is superiors my partner said i can get them if I want them I’m just going to get a smaller set see how prime sale goes ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
Yes collecting definitely becomes a hobby in itself for most of us
Thank you Emma, brilliant video as usual, really appreciate you sharing your tricks and tips.
Thank you very much Hun❤️
Excellent tips and recommendations, thank you so much! Something I would like to add in case anyone is interested is that I have found that the Holbein pencil in soft white will go over the Signo white paint pen without removing the paint as long as the paint is dry. It is what I use when I want to soften or blur the Signo white paint pen.
Oooooo love it will have to try that thank you
What a great video! Your come back has been brilliant ❤. I would have appreciated this video so much a few years ago. I guess many of us fell into the “I must have ALL the sets I see my favorite TH-camrs using” Fortunately I’ve sold and given away the budget sets I bought, and I only kept my premium pencils. Even though I have not been coloring, it brings me comfort to know they are there. 😊
Yes gotta keep those favourites 😘
BTW I love the title of the video
Colouring while watching the video. "Sit up straight".... oh right. "Elbow on the table"... oops. "Don't work from the wrist"... darn. But I was wearing the finger sleeve, so 1 out of 4 i guess 😂Great video, lots of useful tips in there!
Hehe well it's a start 😉
This was possibly my favorite video of yours. Definitely useful. Could you do another? You are a beautiful human, thank you ❤
Would there be anything specific you would want in another?
@emmacolours2020 Hmm. Put me on the spot. I guess I asked for that though, didn't I, lol....maybe Hitchhiker's Guide to water soluble mediums, HHG to backgrounds, HHG to dry media, HHG to embellishments, HHG to coloring books....
An overview of each with just tips, tricks and suggestions?
@@brittanysmith6855 good ideas.....thank you ❤️
@emmacolours2020 Thank YOU too! Happy to help. I look forward to your upcoming content 😁 Side note: For me, the most difficult thing as a beginner mixed media artist was knowing what mediums played well together and what ones did not like each other. And, the hardest thing about being a beginner colorist was knowing which books liked which mediums the best. Also, what supplies would suit my needs (heavy/light handed, smooth/creamy/rough application, layers/one coat, etc.).
Love your video . still waiting for my Prisma Colors 150 from USA . they will arrive maybe Saturday or next week … End of September thinking about Holbein 150 set…. I love my pastel set and used them a lot when sketching …..Love this advise very well thought out I dont so people .. I love nature hahah xxxxx Happy coloring

@@emmacolours2020 still waiting for them meh 4 weeks so far
Brilliant video Emma! I've been colouring for a few years now, and this has made me rethink a few of my choices etc. I have definitely taken a lot away from this, tfs xx
So pleased if it helped you Hun ❤️❤️
Awesome tips Emma! I also haven’t been coloring I miss it and really hope to get back soon! 💜
It will be there when your ready hun
Another Great Video Emma, Thank You. I Don't Think You Know Or Believe How Talented You Are. All Your Pictures Are Beautiful. X
Your so wonderful...thank you hun
@@emmacolours2020❤
Very useful, thank you!
You are very welcome hun
I use Crayola 120 set which I love. I just got the Castle Arts Harmonius set of wax pencils which I'm learning how to use. I love each type of set for it's abilities. Both of these are "budget" pencils. You don't need to spend a lot to do what you love.
No just enjoy yourself for sure
Great video ❤
Thank you very much
Excellent job. I really enjoyed spending this time with you. I've been coloring for a couple of years now and I still learned a couple of things. Thanks!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching ❤️❤️
Ooh those fingers sleeves! Didn’t know they existed but now I do they will be very useful! Thanks!
They really help with the finger bump I have....a game changer
Still with you Emma, very useful information thank you 🙏 ❤
Hehe thank you Hun ❤️
I have used Crayola’s Colors of the World skin sets. They are inexpensive in the US. From Jamie
Glad you like them I just struggle with skin so much with other sets
Thanks so much for sharing. I am also using the Creative Companion for the first time this year and adore it!
Yes I have found it super useful and think I will be using one again next year too
I love the Brutfuner squares
Me too❤️
Thanks for the finger sleeve tip!
You are very welcome 😁
Do you have holbiens and a review on those. I am thinking of saving up to get those weather a few open stock at a time or the full set. I would love to see a video with a review of these pencils.
I do have a Holbein review up 👍
I found it very useful and it gave me a lot to think about. Thank you. x
Thank you for watching hun
This was brilliant. I learnt a lot. Tysmfs…..awesome ❤❤❤❤❤
Glad it was useful ❤️
Emma a big thank you for this video 🎉 this is one of the most helpful/useful videos I have seen on TH-cam 😊 I wish I knew this info before I started colouring, I thought I needed everything creators where showing and too many pencil sets LOL😂 its gets so overwhelming and expensive. Thank you lovely 🥰 xxx
No although we show you a million things we never expect you to own anything .......the fun is in the joy of coloring ❤️
Thank you. Very helpful and informative video. Rita.

Glad you enjoyed it Hun thank you for watching
@@emmacolours2020 your so welcome Emma 🥰
You are so right. 💕 I made the mistake of buying Thomas Kinkade, as my first book. I will never touch that book again. 😂 A few months later, I bought a Matchstick Mouse and a Maria Trolle book, and started again. 😁
I had a set of Polychromos for drawing already, still bought probably 7 other cheaper sets. (all given away, except one) I could have bought another professional set for that money.😭 I felt like I had to have them all. 😁
I agree with you, the Brutenfurner squares are great if someone doesn't want to spend that much money. So are the ArrtX. I use the ArrtX as a second set alongside the Polys. (If I don't like the Polys in some books) Prismas are very expensive here (More expensive then the Polys), and not available individually. Unfortunately.
I would also advise buying a maximum of 2,3 books at the beginning. One printed by Amazon, one by Maria Trolle, Hanna Karlzon, and/or Johanna Basford, and maybe another one that appeals to you. Then you'll know, if you have a preference when it comes to paper. 👍
After that, we all (almost) go mad, and buy so many books, that they would last several lifetimes. 😂
Great video! 💕
Lol yes I am definitely bad for buying too much stuff 😆
🤣😀🤣🤣😊‘Some people are creating a lot of cr-p’ Truth.
🤣
Wish I seen this 3 years ago 😂
🤣
I have the black widows skin tone sets. What do you think of those?
They are beautiful pencils...my skill level isn't great for skin so I just find a really soft pencil easier
My evil twin buys things when Im not watching. . . 😅😅😅
I think I have one of those too lol
