@@DarkbloomVis yes I do. I love Metroid games. Prime is great, first one is my favorite. I like side scrollers more so those are my favorite Metroid games. I’m getting into game development now , and was gonna make a Metroid vania, but it was a bit too hard. Lol.
No other Metroid Game in my heart will ever compare to Super Metroid, It was the first Metroid Game I ever played and as a child I was terrified of the Game, I ended up quitting out fear and not playing the Game until the year before Dread was announced and that's when I became a true fan of the series, I'm 18 now and can't wait for Prime 4!
From super on, the true 2d Metroid games are all top tier! What’s nice is that each has its own strengths (and weaknesses). Super obviously laid the blue print, Fusion had a really compelling narrative along with tighter gameplay, Zero Mission merged what was good about Fusion and Super Metroid. Samus Returns brought 2d Metroid back from the dead and laid the foundation for Dread which is classic Metroid in every way!
Remaking Super Metroid is like Remaking Resident Evil 4, It's a really hard challenge to accomplish and you might screw it up in the process, personally I don't want them to Remake either Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion those Games are fine as they are and should be left alone.
Good question, had to think for a bit. I'd put it below Fusion above Zero Mission. Even then, I'm not 100% sure I'd put it above Zero Mission. That's a hard one.
Dude, I loved the video, Metroid Other M is basically one of my childhood video games, and when I played as a kid didn't paid much attention to the lore and stuff so I just enjoyed its gameplay 😭, so I just thought it was really cool, but now that I'm old I realize Other M lowk falls off but the love I got to Other M I'd put it on 6th place, behind Metroid 2 on 7th place and the original Metroid on 8th place
I appreciate you checking the video out! :D It's okay if you enjoyed the game, I for sure enjoy games that everyone else seems to dislike, Other M isn't the worst thing in the world, it just hit all the wrong notes for me. The narrative was a bit much compared to Metroid usually is. The gameplay isn't too bad. I respect your rankings though :)
I’m Looking forward to getting Dread! I began my adventure with Super (which I have not even gotten close to finishing), but Prime Remastered is my personal favorite. Where would Prime/Prime Remastered land in your tier list?
I think you'll love Dread. It truly brings Metroid to the modern era. Super Metroid is so good, if you ever get the time I highly recommend finishing it! Prime is a masterpiece honestly, if I had to add it to this list it'd probably go in between dread and Super Metroid :D You excited for Prime 4?

Probably gonna need to free some space on my SD Card though… What’s also weird is that Prime was probably the game that started this weird thing for me where I like to take different cartoon characters and put a version of Samus’s Suit on the character.
Um you might hate me when I say this but I actually injoyed Other M for the record it's not my favorite Metroid Game that will always be Super Metroid but I don't hate Other M yes there are things in the Game I don't like such as Adam as a whole and also MB she looks too much like a Barbie Doll I mean if you're gonna make a human version of Mother Brain make her look scary, and come on you can't hate Anthony Higgs he's the best Character in the Game and I personally hope that we see him again in a future Metroid Game but just wanted to let you know that I personally don't hate Other M, but it's still my least favorite Metroid Game.
I personally think super is the worst purely because how clunky it feels. If it had the control like zero misson, ledge grab, uncapped fire rate and all, I would probably put it at Nr.2. Without the quick sand it would be Nr.1. The only reason I can semi enjoy it now is virtual console/switch online and it's quality of live features.
I can see where you're coming from for sure. Something about how Samus controls in Super is what makes it special for me. The game is designed around the fact she can't grab ledges and is floaty, so it's not too horrible. I do agree though going from the smooth movement of the later games to Super is a bit jarring if you don't expect it. The capped fire rate in Super needs to go 100% though
@DarkbloomVis well if there is one thing I wouldn't want to be changed from supers controls is how wall jump works. For some reason I find it super easy to pull of in that game specifically. Pun intended.

2D Metroid series is amazing.
Super Metroid is an artistic masterpiece. It’s not just a game.
It really is. I always tell my friends who never played it to at least try it once, it's worth it. Most friends end up loving it

This right here is a perfect summarization. The games are all great in their own way. I'm just glad we got a new 2D Metroid after so long
Metroid Samus Returns should get a HD port for the Switch in my opinion, with Fusion mode and all the other Amiibo blocked content unlockable.
I 100% agree, the fusion mode being locked behind amiibo always made me feel a lil sad on the inside

Metroid Prime 4 is coming out next year. Prime 4 is taking long to come out because they restarted development in early 2019.

I consider AM2R as an official game in the series, and besides some sections it's a flawless game
