      Please i adopted two NZ rabbit male and female both are indoor. I'm bothered about their mating. I read it's not proper for two rabbit siblings to mate and mine lives together in my house without a cage

    Good video. I raise NZ Whites as well. Just a suggestion; instead of purchasing plastic (wind blocks) cut your plastic feed sacks in half. That is how I do it. Works great and saves money.

    I find these animal education videos fascinating. Wish I lived in a location that chickens and rabbits were an option!

    • @reneebrown2968

      Rabbits should be an option no matter where you are. As should quail. They are not considered farm animals so you can even keep them inside city limits. You can keep both or either inside your house or apartment if that is your choice. I personally brooded out my quail inside my home and keep a rabbit inside as a pet and have my breeding stock on my back porch. So far it's worked wonderfully for me. I live inside city limits so i can't have chickens or ducks or geese but i can have hundreds of quail because they are a wild species. Go figure

    • @janicesatterwhite4513

      Quail and rabbits could be inside if you really want to. Just a thought. Janice

      I live in the city and have 12 chickens and a rooster. It just depends on how chill your neighbors are lol 😆 and the rooster has a no crow collar so he's not very loud at all.

    I used to freeze rabbit and without fail some of it would go to waste because it would get freezer burnt. This year I discovered pressure canning rabbit meat and it has been amazing! I highly recommend it.

      I use heat shrink bags for poultry and rabbits and no freezer burns. I provide a lot of gluten free recipes for my rabbit and chicken. I also have videos showing how to can. I've accumulated 100s of different canned vegetables, soups, and stews.

    • @nataliebentz1496

      I used vacuum seal bags to try and prevent freezer burn, but some of the bags would get punctured by a sharp bone and break the seal :/

    Im going to be setting up in rabbitry very soon. Just going to start small as husband and I are both older and both disabled. Just want something that is less work and more pleasant that meat chickens! So Ill start with 2 Flemish Giant does and 1 NZ white buck and 1 California buck so that everyone is for sure unrelated and go from there. God bless you in 2021!

    My other two breeds came from different locations. I really enjoy seeing other people's rabbitries, everyone sets up so differently. Once I've finished my new setup, I'll have to make a video of it

    Ok so when raising them for meat they basically live in a small pen with no need to free range outside in a safe contained area? I’m considering starting with a few but I think I want them to have access to soil and grass to roam during the day. If I do that will they fight or can females get along this way?

    I'm sure you know that wire can be purchased with plastic coating on it. It is a little more expensive but it is easier on the feet of the animal. I 1/2 ''X 2'' for the bottom lets the poop and urine drop into a tray.

    • @dobson777a
      @dobson777a  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I use 1/2 by 1/2 welded wire for my enclosures. Everything falls through. I've never seen and problems with my rabbits paws. I harvest at 3 months when they are 5 lbs. I raised the mating bucks and does to 4 years with no problems either. Most of what you read about wire bottoms being a problem on rabbits paws is horse manure.

    • @dobson777a
      @dobson777a  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen several articles indicating rabbits may have trouble below 40F. I myself have not had troubles with adult rabbits down in the twenties F. I always protect my mothers with kits by adding heat lamps. I also have a nursery area covered with tarps to block the wind. I make sure my rabbits can't get wet from rain when it is cold.

      Mathew 15: 11It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”
      JESUS the Lord and Savior declared in the above verse that it isn't what you eat that corrupts you. As a Christian What Jesus says or does goes there is no other way. Remember Jesus could not lie or else that would be a sin and if he stated in Mark that what you eat will not corrupt you then by the good grace of God I am inclined to believe it.
      Christian's are tied to the new testament which overwrite the old laws. Jews are stuck in a time warp of the old testament because they never recognized Jesus as their Savior.
