In India, Nepali is a caste and Gorkha represents as Indian Nepali. In Nepal, Nepali is a nationality and Gorkha is a District and a symbol of bravery. In the UK, Gurkha is just a British accent of British Gorkha that’s all. The word ‘Gorkha’ is a homonym which is most frequently misunderstood by many. Btw, nice podcast. I would definitely watch his film.

A king with Crown is better than many Kings (many places) without the crown. Every Nepali youth and parents of should watch/listen this episode skiping going to movie and gossips. My Swiss expact showed a big house with Chapel at Luzern, Switzerland is a reach person /family. But Swiss used to go to fight as "Gorkhas" in other countries which still proves by Swiss Royal Guard in Vatican City. But their efforts to make own country made Switzerland developed country economically (by agriculture and industrial products) even in between 3 big piwerful countries. Hope a day will come to bring a change - change for better of all Nepali. ❤

Gorkha soldiers played a vital role in most of country ‘s independence until the recent one Bangladesh but we are not treated as such moreover we have not owned that legacy. Remember Ujir Singh thapa was 19 while leading his army against east India company and won this puts me into shame when I think about and we all should be

The Gorkha name came from Gorakhnath as I understand it. Thank You, high time a Nepali took the trouble to make the movie about the Gorkhas who were used and discarded by all the people they trusted with their lives.

I appreciate for your work towards Nepal and Nepalese rich history. I am sure that this will bring a certain awareness about the glorious past of Nepal and their bravery. We were fighting against one of the toughest armies (German, Japan) along with the British army. We gave our men and blood for the true independence of Europe and whole Asia. We need more people like you brother who can documents our sacrifice in the big screen. I still believe that the world has to know Nepal and they owe a great deal of gratitude toward Nepalese people. This is the wonderful podcast for my research as i will be writing the book on Gurkhas glorious past.
    Thanks Sushant and Pardeep bro.

Sadly🇳🇵Nepal has been prepared as a disabled (paralysed) nation for past 200+ years (deep well) who can only think and talk big (too many useless information stuffed big-heads), but sadly it ain’t going to bring any changes until and unless the nation, starts (moving its bodies) creating doers! Everyone wants to be right, but how many does the right? #getUPnepalgetUP #standUPnepal

Good to see two young Nepali youth chinwagging about things that really matter and giving their honest opinion. Would love to see more youngsters jumping in and debating issues that would elevate the consciousness of the youth of Nepal as a whole. This podcast is the best medium I have come across that communicates effectively with the youth and the wider Nepali diaspora

We talk all about corrruption in Nepal on the political and bureaucratic level, but it surprises me that no body talks about it at the community level. It is so readily accepted within our society that its almost as synonymous as being successful. In democracy, people get the government they deserve.

He knows very little about history. WWI chandra shumsher was our PM, WWII juddha shumsher was our PM. After WWI chandra shumsher managed to get treaty of 1923 signed and our independence was fully recognised by British. Also Nepal was involved directly in WWII not gurkhas but nepal army in Assam.

You are correct dude, I messed up with the names of the prime minister, and as for Nepal involvement that’s true too. Ironically, I was just talking to one of the army generals abt it and we were discussing how Nepalese soldiers were only awarded MC instead of VC, as per Rana’s request as they had to respect the VC holders. Anyway, only a filmmaker, not a historian here, so always space to learn more. Thank you for the listen tho. 😊🙏🏼

@@itsaayush1582 sorry bro I am not a film maker but I love history speaking of which let me tell u something more, during WWII in battle of Burma and Assam gurkhas fought against japanese and nepaless army fought against azhad hind forces of subash chandra Bose. After WWII many gurkhas lost their job and were unemployed that's when subarna and mahavir shumsher who were expelled from nepal for being c class ranas, who were doing business in kolkata and had a lot of money decided to recruit these veterans and formed the mukti sena of nepalese congress.
