West Somerset Railway - 4 6 0 Mini Steam Gala - 27th and 28th July 2024

The West Somerset Railway held a mini gala as they had four 4-6-0 steam locomotives on the line. These were:
6880 Betton Grange
6990 Witherslack Hall
7812 Erlestoke Manor
7828 Odney Manor
The Grange, 6880 Betton Grange, was only at the second railway since being built and launched earlier in the year.
On the evening of the 27th, a double headed train ran from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead and return. 6880 leading 6990 towards Minehead, 7812 leading 6880 on the return. On the outward journey the train stopped just outside Blue Anchor, presumably to allow the diners time to complete their meals whilst giving them an outlook over the sea. The video catches the restart of the train and heading off into the sunset toward Dunster, with the castle in the background. The return journey from Minehead was in the dark. Exceptional video, really enjoyed the shots at Blue Anchor and Castle Hill. Interesting angle of Stogumber with 6990 getting away!
