    Unless some rules are applied I think it’s hurting the college sport. Long term it will show

    NIL and the portal has ruined college football tradition and loyalty to universities. The loyalty is only to the money.

      It’s NIL and Transfer Portal without structure and regulation that’s undermining team stability and school fandom…it’s not ruined yet but it’s going to damage the sport if the chaos continues.

    The team that I’ve watched for 35 years is still in the playoffs, but this will be my last year of watching the sport…I’m not saying it’s bad, but Nick Saban was 100% right in what he said about today’s game.

    There’s good and bad with the changes. The good is that the talent is finally spreading out. The bad is there’s no loyalty anymore, big schools raid all the small schools for the guys they’ve developed, schools tamper, and having no limits for NIL gives an unfair advantage to the wealthy schools. There needs to be a cap on NIL and unlimited transfers with no penalties has to end.

    They need to regulate NIL and the portal, but I do like it. Hoping it means more parity.

    I think college football needs a commissioner of college sports. Clamp some type of restrictions on portal and monetary compensation.

    i think the school you go to first you should be required to stay there at least 2 years before you can move. a lot of guys get red shirted anyways their first year. they need to give it a couple of years to see if they will fit in there or not and then decide to stay or move.

    Yes, but it probably needs a commissioner and a cba. TP rules should also change as far as when it opens. Oh and lets drop seeds 9-12 and go to a 8 team playoff!

      Yeah 12 teams is absolutely comical and destroys the do or die nature of the regular season. Upsets mean basically nothing because the loser still has massive room for error.

    I haven't watched you in a bit but had to check this one. To have a REAL discussion about this, you can't look at the College Football environment the same. N.I.L./ Portal has changed everything. These kids control their own path now. You start there and then this can be fixed. I believe I know a good place to start. A reply would be nice.👊🤙🏈

    What you love in this new era with re-alignment hurt the PAC12 & B12. So no, The new era is not great for college football. It is great for the P2, but it sucks for everyone else.

    • @jeremylicea1841
      @jeremylicea1841 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      PAC12 commissioner was the reason for the pac12 demise. Teams left because of the tv/revenue issues. PAC12 after dark was the worst idea ever.

      @@jeremylicea1841the revenue dried up because the 4 team format didn’t allow access to the post season

    • @jeh58
      @jeh58 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@jeremylicea1841 Oh hell, I am not going to disagree with that. Both commissioners and some greedy & ignorant university presidents played their share. However, ESPN & FOX were like sharks in the water smelling blood. The SEC (ESPN) saw an opportunity to poach the two major B12 schools and were happy to do so. That was encouraging FOX (B1G) to do something similar and went for USC & UCLA, destabilizing the PAC12. Then the PAC12 leaders continued to mess up at every turn. Oregon & Washington jumped at half price over their fear of falling financially behind. After that, the B12 jumped in and took the four schools their media partners would pay for. I really don't blame the B12, they were in survival mode. And finally CALFURD begged to get into the ACC for scraps off of their table. They were afraid of being in the same room with any team from the MWC, They didn't enjoy being in the same room with the Beavers an Cougars anyway.
      So there you basically have it. ESPN/SEC started the destruction of it all. FOX then joined the party. They gave up the P2, and only will want the ACC, B12 & G6 only as fillers. You know, the minimum wage schools of D1 college football. Does anyone believe SEC & B1G leaders care at all outside of their2 conferences? Do the care about all of college football? They truly don't. They want more money for themselves and less for anyone else. The P2 considers others as just farm leagues. They want the rest to develop their future players, and allow the schools scraps off of their tables as payment.

    NIL levels the playing field. Instead of seeing the same 3 or 4 top powerhouse colleges every year it’s giving other schools a chance to compete. I do believe some rules should be applied to NIL and the portal.

    You mention the Michigan Ohio State game but that game had no meaning in the grand scheme of things outside of those 2 fanbases bragging rights. Ohio State was still easily in the playoff.
    It’s a feeling I know a lot can relate to this season. You’re watching OSU-Oregon or Miami-GT or Vandy take down Bama and you realize….win or lose, this does not matter. Dropping to 15 means nothing.

    I am one more season of egregiously bad officiating from bowing out of the sport I've loved for 25 years.
    NIL, portal, and this pathetic participation trophy 12-team playoff have turned this sport into an uglier version of the NFL (which I quit watching almost a decade ago for various reasons).
    Money has poisoned the sport and it's never coming back because enough people will keep tuning in.
    2024 may mark the year college football officially died. Good luck getting the TV companies to do anything positive to resurrect it.

    Finebaum sounds like a dummy, He keeps saying Indiana beat a bunch of no-bodies well they beat the current national champions in Michigan, I wouldn't say they are a no-body.
    He calls teams frauds when the biggest frauds in the first round were Tennessee who got blown off the park in an embarrassing fashion.
    This clown needs to be pulled off the air, he's living in the past when the Big bad SEC did have all the talent, now with NIL the talent is spread around more than anytime in the past 20 yrs

      60% of the top 300 players just signed with the sec schools. 28% with the big 10. It's been that way for years. Nil and the portal is just making the rich richer not the other way around. That's just these shills in the media lying.

      So you think SMU, Clemson, Boise state, IU and ASU will give just as good games as Ole Miss, Bama, and SC?
      Michigan was irrelevant this year, Finnebaum wasn’t wrong about that. The difference with the SEC schools and other conferences are sustaining the level of dominance year in and out. UM could not.
