    What kinda pisses me off is that some of the 'over-complicated' life hacks are actually useful

    • @HouseholdHacker
      @HouseholdHacker  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      If you find one to be good you can probably shave off some of the steps involved to simplify it :)

    Okay, I know these are supposed to be a joke, but I actually really like the soap and dog bed ideas.

    As ironic as it is, repurposing an old patio umbrella like that actually isn't that bad of an idea. Same with putting together a travel kit inside a suitcase for your dog. Overcomplicated but surprisingly useful

    I love how some of these are borderline believable/helpful. And then the next one is literally bolting an oversized remote to a sofa.

    If you want to actually recycle soap bits better, run the big chunks through a cheese grater first to get them smaller. Helps them melt way faster!

    • @minx9554
      @minx9554 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll help to over complicate it:
      Instead of getting out the old cheese grater from your messy cabinets- walk over to your window blinds!
      This step is easy- just spray some cooking oil on the blinds to keep the soap residue from sticking around. Then- place a bowl or towel under the window to catch the soap that falls. Finally- just use it like you would a grater.
      Simple and you don't have dishes after wards. Just wipe them down after! Done and done.

    On the mop concept - I still prefer grabbing my younger brother by the feet and dragging him across the floor. Only these days since we've gotten much older and larger, he's much more harder to work with than ever before. I'm starting to think he doesn't like it. :-)

  • @felixbabe6215
    @felixbabe6215 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Ok, why are these actually good ideas. I know their supposed to be overcomplicated, but they actually seem quite reasonable some of the time. I could just be stupid though.

    • @Kreed360
      @Kreed360 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the joke is not entirely that their over-complicated it's that they're unnecessarily overcomlicated. Like the clothes rack, you can do that, or you can just use a string. The soap, why dont you just _use the slivers_ . And so on and so on.

    I definitely have a problem that requires a needlessly complicated solution! Whenever I want butter on my bun it's always tough to cover the whole surface, because it's just too hard in it's cold state. I tried cutting it in really thin pieces but that takes way too much effort- When I'm hungry there's no time!

    I'm fairly certain the lost remote is a joke, but..... Don't have a chain closet, just get a cable lock (like the ones sold for bikes available for 10 bucks). Or better yet just super glue or hot glue the giant remote down to a table next to your couch! Also I love how the second picture for that remote on amazon, they obviously photoshoped the picture to make the remote even bigger (Boostwaves Universal Jumbo Remote Control TV-DVD-Cable It's Huge - Never Lose it! )
