- Today, I will tell the story of Princess Alice of Battenberg, the mother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Princess Alice was born in 1885 as the eldest daughter of Prince Louis of Battenberg and Princess Victoria of Hesse and by Rhine, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. Her son is the well-known Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and one of her brothers was Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma.
This is a truly touching story. This wonderful woman endured much yet, dedicated her life to others so courageously. Well done to the Duke of Edinburgh for taking her in at the end of her life. He was a good and proper son. Thank you for honouring this fine lady.

A fascinating woman- one who suffered tremendously yet performed outstanding service!😮😊❤
Theres a documentary about Princess Alice this is too short very proud of PA
I find it hard to believe that Alice was completely deaf , in those days ,she would not been suitable marriage material and would probably be locked away . I worked with Deaf people and their whole outlook on life is very far removed from a hearing persons life. Helen Keller is the only person that managed to speak ,but it took years on a one to one. It’s also been said that Alice learned other languages . I think she had hearing issues but learned to speak , and her hearing got worse as the years went on .
... we are hearing 100%
never
deaf
@@AndreaCandido-tp4kk who are hearing, what do you mean ?
Why did Elizabeth not use the Greek tiara ? Because her mother disapproved of Alice's German links ?
