Nice summary, it was interesting to listen to your point of view. I’m not sure if I’m entitled to comment as I scratched on day 1 and decided to take it super easy (which to be fair was still hard but I just fancied sleeping in bed for 6 hours a night as I’m weak and lazy😅). But I ended up riding 90% of the Albania route and can confirm that lightweight full suspension was definitely the best gear choice, climbs were quite rough at times and I didn’t feel like the extra 1 kilo of weight was really slowing me down. The extra traction was worth it. I think I was also the only one with the dropper post - it made a massive difference on the descents, especially in the bikepacking setup where I could shift the centre of gravity as low as possible and literally go twice as fast as everyone else.
Wow, I like Alex's bike! Lightweight full suss is fast by the looks of that course. Has he put his own bag on the Tailfin rack? It looks different from the usual. If so I may try one on mine. Nice video Josh😊
Yes Full suss was definitely the fastest overall option for the route I think. The Tailfin bag that Alex was running is actually a prototype bag. It's good for smaller frames or for running a dropper post/ full suss bike. Its not production just yet, but I believe that it will be at some point.
Like your pictures in the background with the brevet cards.👍🙂

Josh, the Continental Race King rules...💪Im going to do Évora - Castro Verde, using part of your route 🤞keep up the good work.
Thank you for doing this!
Sorry, another question.
Do you know anything about that bag strapped on the bottom of Alex's down tube? I could do with one!
Might be one of the tailfin downtube bags
It's a Tailfin downtime bag.... www.tailfin.cc/product/small-packs/downtube-packs/downtube-packs/?v=79cba1185463
