If getting Charlie dressed is causing kids to be late to school, keep him in his pajamas and get kids to school on time, he’s literally got all day to get dressed, no sense in wasting precious time before school

I think she has realized that with this out of control toddler, there just isn't enough time in the day to have another. That is why she is keeping Charlie infantile. She is really shooting herself in the foot. Letting children be children is, of course, great; you don't want kids to grow up with age-inappropriate social media, violent video games, etc. BUT you also do not want to keep a toddler a toddler. Kids need to grow and develop, and Charlie can really do MUCH more than his parents think he can. Kids CAN dress themselves at 2 1/2, except perhaps for tying their shoes.

The amount of families she visits when they cannot control their kids and they want more kids, shocks me! Are the ones who complained after they have six kids and they couldn’t control their first two. These people that love babies forget that they grow into toddlers and big kids, and they will have to deal with them.

My heart broke when the mom wouldn’t tell her daughter that she missed spending time with her. She couldn’t just tell her that she missed her. She just wanted to bring up her petty resentments toward her daughter’s teenage attitude caused by their lack of relationship. 💔

Sadness -couldm't say she missed time wi4h her own daughter-shoping -a movie.even a quick meal & what of the other son & time for him-in the end the older two kids will actively dislike the little brat -& that could even carry thru for s lifetime as there was no connectio -no 'lovable little brother' he"ll miss out & so will they. I think Charlie imo is also improving. Especially with the time out step. The first time he sat on there, there wasn’t much issue and he stayed there surprisingly without any trouble, came back and ate his food. So, he knows what he did was wrong, but since nobody ever disciplined him like that he js kept going. Him going on the step made him realize “yea my mom meant business”.

Mom is giving this little boy WAY to much power in this house. His older child is running late for school, and Dad is gone to work, and rather than chucking Charlie in the car with his pajamas on and getting the older child to school on time, Mom indulges Charlie's tantrum and let's him have his own way, making her older son very late for school. He refuses to eat a proper dinner and she gives him sweets when he kicks off and allows him to sleep in Mommy's bed.

The Mom clearly knows and states: she wants to keep him being a baby. The older ones needed to be grown up cause life went on and rent needed being paid. Now with this one she wanted a baby. He got treated like one, so he behaved like one. And at some point his behaviour was too much of a hassle to deal with.
Once she had a decent night's sleep and probably some time to think about this family, theit relationship, her life, she got frustrated. These fights with Charlie kept the family together at that point. It was their safe routine...

I think it’s used as a way to ensure the child is listening and understanding, but yeah, it definitely sounds like they’re asking the child for permission. When I give my preschoolers direction, or have to redirect them, I’ll usually say “Do you understand?” or “Got it?” or “do you hear me?”

If he were my grandkid Grandma would have laid down the friggin' law. In no uncertain terms. It is about parental respect, and I mean the parents SELF-respect. Letting a little toddler rule the house and run riot over everyone means that the parents don't have much respect for themselves because if they did, they would not accept that kind of controlling behavior.

Accidents happen to all of us, especially the little guys who don't have the fine motor controls yet. However, if a child deliberately dumps his dinner, he goes to bed without. When breakfast rolls around, I think he will be grateful for some eggs and toast, and probably be ready to give up his shenanigans.

What is funny about being held hostage by a screeching two year old: no TV, no lights on, no bath or bedtime, etc. This Mom & Dad are acting as if the toddler is a laugh a minute. He isn't. It's child abuse to allow a young child they are responsible for to become a tyrant. It's neglect to allow the child to treat his older siblings the way he does. Even during the family meeting the parents responded to Jo's findings with proud laughing which is sick. Did these people suffer brain damage since the older well-behaved children were brought up?

I found this Mom to be completely selfish. She said she "wanted more kids", when she couldn't even take care/spend time with, the ones she already had. Also, she said "Parents always give up things like spending time on themselves". That's what you do when you have kids. It becomes about your kids. What a piece of work.
