sabse bada gap to margin mein hai. CDSL's margins are 50-75% better than NSDL. That is a surprise. Absolutely same business but such a gap. Hard to understand.
As Anil ji mentioned operationally CDSL seems to be far better than NSDL.

Dunno why, but I do not have even a single Demat account with NSDL, atleast until now. It looks like all DPs are stuck to CDSL. But investors must have more options so that they can enjoy the freedom of choice. So we should always prevent the monopoly of any one entity in any field.

All new age broker uses cdsl whereas all bank related broker use nsdl so cdsl will outperform nsdl in long-run
