Egbaland and the Yoruba nation owe it a duty to keep the legacy of Alhaji Ayinla Waidi Omowura alive for posterity. He was a Platinum or Gold recording artiste on the EMI label. I remember vividly the presentation ceremony at the National Theater in the 70s. He was an icon of apala music and music in general within the borders of Nigeria. Yes, he has gone but his music lives on. His contribution to the science of Yoruba folklore music remains a discipline of study in the Department of Sociology in our tertiary institution. Anigilaje Ayinla Waidi Omowura, continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
@@akindelejosepholowojobi803 He actually spoke classic Yoruba with a perfect blend of his native dialect. That’s absolutely admissible by all standard.❤

Ayinla Omowura is an indisputable Apala music master in his lifetime and up till now. I am one of his music fan IP till now. May his soul rest in peace.
Alhaji Ayinla omowura's music is undoubtedly beyond just genre dynamics, it's simply poetry unleashed. Quite reminiscent of TUPAC SHAKUR if you can only reason it that way it does make it simple in my opinion.

He died on 6th of May 1980 in a beer parlour where there was a misunderstanding between him and his manager, the manager eventually broke a thick glass cup on Ayinla's head and he died before he was rushed to the general hospital.
Forgive my ignorance, but what is the name of the extremely melodic drum that seems to be "singing," bending tones, with long sustain? It is so beautiful!
