The is one of the first times I feel compelled to leave a comment on a review video. It was really great and honest and answered a lot of the doubts I had concerning the bag. You come across as sincere and I really appreciate it, especially when there are a ton of reviews that seem more like marketing. Keep up the great work!
I’ve had a GR1 since 2011. It’s been through multiple trips to Europe and Asia. All of the US. Two Goruck Tough Events. And EDC rotation. I’ve always hated the way they do organization but not enough to not use it. I think the build quality is why would purchase their stuff. Nothing really comes close to if.
Agreed, that's what peaked my interest to begin with. Ultimately, I will keep it and likely use it on and off. However, it's not quite the perfect one-bag I was hoping for. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
5.11 Rush 24, 37l bag, with me every single day for 8 years now. I mean, every single day. Work, camping, hiking, hunting... everything. Zero issues. $129. I dont get it man. I support vets and our military, but $500? Like a lot of stuff, it's just marketing and tacticool appeal. I'll stick to 5.11, Maxpedition, Vertx and others, companies that support our service men and women, and make outstanding products at reasonable prices. Not that anyone cares about my opinion, but I had to rant, the price is bananas, even if you can afford it. Whatever.
I wish GoRuck would make the GR2 in Red/Black, like they do the GR1, because it would be so much easier to see, not only what you're filming, but items you are looking for in a dimmly lit situation. With the warranty they offer, I'm looking forward to purchasing the last backpack I will ever need; while in the city or in the woods of the Pacific Northwest.
Great review! Is this the 34 or 40 litre? One comment is one handed video taping is very annoying to me. I would subscribe to your channel if you used a steady tripod to film.
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I intend to review the Topo Travel Bag. I just got done traveling with it for 2 months, so needed some time in the saddle before I could collect my thoughts. :)
They are super expensive. I sent this bag into Goruck for repair and they chose to replace it, ended up getting a GR1 instead. I am much happier with it, though it isn't perfect.
@@JohnKDeVries For them to replace it is why its $$$, but at least one has some mental security that if anything goes wrong, most likely it will be replaced. Either way, it is reassuring.
@@KGB-FSB Yeah, their customer service was excellent and the quality of the bags is very high. But I think there are plenty of equally good options for less money.
I sent it in to get repaired. GoRuck said there was a defect. Their customer service was some of the best I've ever had. They offered to send me a new bag, I asked them if I could get a GR1 instead. They shipped it out, no problem. I am as happy with the GR1 as I was unhappy with the GR2. ymmv. I might make a video on it at some point. :)
If you look into any consumer product or service category, there will be affordable brands and premium brands. Does a $300 GSHOCK tell me the time? Does a $30,000 Rolex tell me the time, albeit with ever-so-slightly better accuracy? Can I drive to the grocery store in a Toyota Camry? How about a Ford Raptor or BMW M5? The whole "overpriced" argument is so overplayed. Part of that price tag pays for the lifetime SCARS guarantee. You'll never need to buy another bag. You can spend a 4th of the price on another brand, but how many times will you have to buy that same, or different, brand in your lifetime? Buy once, cry once. Simple.
WAY OVERPRICED for what it is. It’s a backpack meant to carry things. You can easily buy any other brand that can do the same time and last longer than a GoRuck. RecycledFirefighter is one of them and I highly recommend it. I’ve had a bag from Jake for 4 years now and I love it.
Christmas Is Awesome “The Chief” for an overall pack. Can’t go wrong with it. However it is not a travelers pack, it’s not quite big enough for that category. None the less it’s a wonderful pack. You don’t have to be gentle with it, it’s meant to be durable.
The price is ridiculous! spending that much on a bag is vulgar and a total waste of money! it is no better than ones from Amazon for 30 dollars! Why don't you move the laptop to the second area so it is not squashed into your back??
Point me to an Amazon bag with 1000D that is designed for rucking and has a lifetime guarantee? The GR2 will outlast the majority of its owners. You buy once you cry once. You obviously don't value quality so keep giving your cash to Chinese-made crap from Amazon.
@@mdc123-v2v Why bring it up from a bloody year old post! I value quality you dim wit that is why i said it didn't look good for the money! I am not American so i don't buy junk and i am not fake! Glad I could have helped! It's an expensive bag. I ended swapping it for the GoRuch GR1, which I am very happy with.
Love the critical analysis. I see too many people trying to justify their purchase rather than objectively review.

I have a GR1 now, which I am very happy with. I sent back the GR2 and they offered me a replacement, great company to work with.
I love the patch you have on the pack!
me too! Got it on amazon.
Did they fix that ripped part on your bag?
yes, they actually replaced it. No questions asked.

great points about the GR2... im surprised not more people mentioned the negative's about the bag..... Can you do a review of the Topo Design as well?
