@@rawroo2279 I think it's $1000 to pre-order it online. The base price for the car is under $80,000, but the car at launch will be $169,000.

The seating position in the back is very strange with how high the floor is but besides that this car looks the business. Hopefully it drives as good as it looks. Great presentation by the way.

It looks like they did it this way to raise your knees like he was doing here, to I think lay you back with those inclined seats, probably to relax you more with the angles you'll have. Just my guess
Its an amazing car if they are able to deliver as promised although no under thigh support at the back so thats really bad

The visors should be like the model x where it retracts to the side. Having it fixed where it currently is ruins the panoramic windshield.

Hardware inside is probably bad, or they just aren't optimized. Probably the first though due to optimizing being pretty simple because there's fixed hardware.

Tesla’s is good. The older MCU are slower but not the new stuff. It is super quick.

This is a an amazing vehicle. 517 mile range, 1080 hp and all wheel drive. This is an electric vehicle that I could own. I will have to check this out once it goes to production. Thank you for sharing my friend.

I’m a Tesla owner and a total EV advocate, so any new EV’s coming to market are a great thing. This is a great video and I can’t wait to see this car take away even more market share from the ICE producers.
Also, I am very observant. 164 miles of (actual) range at 50% charge sounds very comparable to what you find on the Model S LR in the real world.
That said, this car will be far more satisfying to the ultra rich crowd than the top of the line Model S will ever be. The cost difference of charging at an EA 350kw station vs. the Tesla SC network will mean nothing to those who can afford this type of vehicle.
I think Lucid did a great job on the design. I wish them luck on the production and sales. It’s a Tesla Model S killer when the Dream edition drops to $105k.
There's some subtley here, Tesla has been driving down the cost of production so much, they profit and far ahead on certain things. For instance by the time dream edition is in full swing, the 2020 roadster i truly believe will be in production, so 180 K for lucid vs. 200 K for 2020 roadster. I still like the roadster more.

Is cool but the lag on the screen would get on my nerves and it would make the digital interface worse than the traditional one. They need to pack more responsive screens.

This is cool, I'm just kinda tired of the focus on making electric cars these high-end luxury items. I want to see something really affordable for common people, because at the end of the day the greatest thing EVs have to offer is the reduction of carbon emissions.

What’s your definition of affordable bc in my eyes a fully base model 3 is 30k
The technology is expensive. Development of these vehicles are basically running off a trickle down model where the expensive product is release first to subsidize further development on more consumer friendly versions. This was the same thing Tesla had to do for the model S when it first released. Companies like VW and Volvo can start at scale, they just eat the cost of development upfront but can develop more 'affordable' cars to release. I am still excited for what Lucid Motors has to bring to the EV market and push all the auto manufacturers including Tesla to innovate further.
Raw materials for the batteries and computer modules are rare, expensive to mine and process, and pretty polluting... so it makes sense to sell them as luxury items.

The thing people don't understand about accelerating fast in an electric car is that it drains the battery severely. If you press the pedal to the floor multiple times the range capability will drop significantly.
I'm really excited for Lucid and that bodes well for us consumers. Their specs are insane. I'm hoping all new BEV entrants stop comparing themselves to Tesla and just do their thing. It's such a wide wide wide space for everyone to get their share and demographics. It took Tesla well over a decade and they are still growing. It's a very long road ahead.

I cannot believe how GOOD this car is!! The higher than normal floor and not being able to move your feet underneath the front seats is a bit questionable but if it's for the battery I completely understand. God if only I had bank vaults for pockets!!
Even if it might be hard to believe that Lucid will be on the mass market in the next 5/10 years it does blow away the imagination and creativity of the competition, there are so many small details on Lucid Air that I dream of to have on my Tesla.
This looks way better than Tesla.

I’m an engineer and I like their engine and trans drive system. Fast and efficient.

This is a beautiful design in every detail im in love with this car
Although an investor, I think the car has some serious shortcomings.. major is the seating and seating space for backseat.. horrible as it lacks headroom. And the other major one is the buggy software and way too much reliance on the front cameras that r right at a place that can easily get damaged
It's an $80k+ sports car... they're not going so much for headspace with this design. I recall seeing an SUV in the works as well.
Car is very very beautiful...... Exterior is Awesome... Astounding... And most important is blend with technology... Gives your eyes a Super Richy look.
Interior gives a immense wonderful experience of some one lucid dream of ultra good life style.

Aside from that, one detail I couldn’t avoid to notice is the low response of the touch screens above the wheel. Maybe there’s still room for improvement for that 😅

My concern is that the flip-out mechanical center screen will need expensive repairs if something goes wrong. Also any type of LED screen may be prone to delamination over time. To replace each screen would cost over $1000. Cool design, cool concept. Concerned about the money you'll have to fork out when the Warranty runs out.
Finally, Tesla has serious competition. When Lucid expands it’s line of EV’s to the masses with affordable pricing, it will get interesting. I hope Elon is taking notes.
They don't have a single car on the road... There's no serious competition here and this is a car that costs 180k with options. Model s performance is 100k 😂
Wedow This would be a valid argument, if Tesla did not enter the market in the same manner. Tesla’s initial offering had considerable delays, and products the masses could not afford. Lucid is not vaporware, because they have all of the ingredients(Tesla engineer& Saudi funding) to succeed.
@@Stan0619 lucid is planning to stay in the luxury vehicle segment for a while and don't really have any plans to enter the mass market, so you'll have to wait for a while to get their stuff for the price of a tesla. competition is still exciting though.
Hope only success for Lucid, I think this is a viable car market, the upper scale EV high price segment for luxury. I think better tech only inspires Tesla to do better so i don't think they are too worried. On a side note for 180 K im surprisingly not impressed by this car in terms of design. There's just nothing unique looks wise.

The part about user interface & keeping buttons/switches for certain things is absolutely genius. I am so glad one company is finally having the brains to not blindly follow Tesla into the "EVERYTHING MUST GO IN A SCREEN" trend.

I currently have the 2016 Tesla S and this is my next car. I love the design. I like that it has door pockets and seat pockets, however I do like the tesla s hatchback trunk

Is the trunk going to be legal in US because I think regulations are that stoplights have to be on non moving part, so no trunk. I mean it can be in the trunk but it has to have some on the body.

Review without driving it on your own is just 50% of the story.
It is the same with food, it can look amazing on the plate but you need to taste it to have the full experience.
Looks good but they need to work on that trunk hinge to get it to open another 30 degrees at least.
The reaction time on the touch screen is very slow. Maybe consult your CPU and RAM with Samsung.

I do really like this car, would totally consider it if it wasn't a $100K+. But, it does seem like they're just trying to one-up Tesla on a lot of stuff. Whatever though, more adopters the better!

Since the motors appear to peak at 670 hp each, that Performance rear axle with two of then might be able to draw all the power the battery have to offer.
I'm curious whether they'll car regen at 300 kW (or lower) or so something interesting with these usually very short inputs during dynamic driving.
For the same price you could get a model Y and model 3. Bruh

How can they get away by not having the turn indicators not on a fixed panel. Us regulatory DOT laws specified that any turn signal indicators either have to be on a fixed panel or have more than one for example if these are on the trunk lid which is not fixed they must have another set on let’s say the bumper which is fixed. I don’t think they will be able to have just the ones on the trunk lid. For over 120k the interior just doesn’t add up to a car over 120k lots of plastic, and vinyl finishes along with the rails for the seats , no covers and shows bare metal .

Lucid should just sell their platform, motors, battery pack and electronics. Leave designing of vehicle body and software to others.
The interior isn't bad but the exterior body they should improve that a bit (plus the software) but good job so far

Did not give much info about the car's safety from both design and more importantly software such as it's driver assistance capabilities and it's ability to avoid accidents or human/driver error. To me this is extremely important for any future electric car. Hope Lucid is not just focusing on the design,vwhich is also important and they seem to have done a good job.
