This is soooo good. DH Peligro was such a phenomenal drummer. This has everything you want from the DKs--Biafra's intensity and weirdness; the driving bass; that psycho surfer guitar. And Peligro showing up most of the other hardcore drummers. Even at 13 years old, I could tell the DKs had something more "artsy" going on--I respect them now even more for it.----even if they imploded pretty nastily for a while!

How are the Dead Kennedys so great? Let's count the ways.
    1) Political band that lived everything they preached.
    2) Black drummer at a time when black punks weren't that visible. Hell, a time when the black presence and influence in rock in general seemed nearly dead.
    3) Just as fast as any other hardcore band, but also capable of slowing down and sounding even more threatening doing so,
    4) While absolutely an acquired taste, a hardcore singer that could actually carry a tune and not just shout himself hoarse.
%) In Eat Bay Ray, probably the most tasteful and tuneful guitarist to ever emerge from the scene. One who wore his surf influences on his sleeve, And hell, on "Moon Over Marin", got almost romantic.
