(4K) 2 Hours+ Best Ever Planespotting - Watching Airplanes Winter/Spring 2020 Chicago O'Hare Airport

Over 2 hours of 4K 2160p60 winter/spring plane spotting video, a parade of airliners of all sorts, cargo and passenger from the past few months of this year so far. Been doing a lot of "stay at home" stuff recently just like all of you and with the extra free time I've combined a lot of my favorite clips from the past few videos, with a couple new ones added, all into one video for extended viewing. We start with some newer clips I've filmed and then move to a rush of special catches and favorites I've bagged recently. Video then follows the general progression of a day at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

We've seen some variety on some of the standard routes that regularly serve ORD... Qatar usually sends us the Boeing 777-300ER but a few days recently they have sent us the A350-1000. Will this trend continue? Hard to say but I'm enjoying the variety! As far as I am aware,
this is the first ever arrival of an A350-1000 variant to Chicago O'Hare.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd see a Delta Air Lines Boeing 777-200 at ORD but we've had a few stop by recently helping to transport cargo and I managed to catch a vid of one here. We've seen a number of the United Airlines heavy aircraft running regular cargo service duty from ORD to Europe including the B777-300ER which is normally not seen at ORD.
ORD gets LOTS of cargo of all varieties but Cargo AirACT (or ACT Airlines) is a new one. It is a Turkish cargo company based in Istanbul formerly flying under the name myCargo. It operates scheduled and charter air cargo as well as wet and dry lease services. Kalitta Air had been operating these Turkish cargo flights using a THY ATC identifier but I've heard Air ACT will be taking over. I'm all for even more color in the Chicago skies!
Amerijet International is not a usual visitor here at Chicago O'Hare but with the recent increased demand for cargo for obvious reasons, and lack of regular airline flights, they have stepped in to help with demand. Based in Miami and mostly fly the Boeing 767-200/300.

Madeira Airport Spotting That’s exactly what these videos are for. I don’t even watch the whole two hours myself! Instead I enjoy the ambience and atmosphere created when it is played. Great white noise to study to or sleep to even.

Matter in fact, when you were shooting amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, did you get a post 9/11 vibe at the airport? (Less planes). I haven’t gone shooting myself recently but, I’d probably expect something along those lines. I wasn’t born before 9/11 as well so, I’m honestly not too sure.
FS Ricy I wasn’t working in the aviation industry when 9/11 happened but I remember vividly where I was the morning of 9/11 and I also remember the empty skies in the days that followed. There are certain things about the vibe right now that are similar but overall it is very different. Airplanes are still flying even though the airports are mostly empty so that is the same. But there is a greater feeling of loneliness and emptiness perhaps from this at the airport. There is a sense that this will not be going away soon. After 9/11 at least we could hug each other and there was a lot of patriotism that inspired people and we rallied together and rebuilt. We will still win and overcome here but this time we are facing a different kind of enemy. Thanks for watching!

Also I find your experience fairly interesting, I can understand understand the current feeling of loneliness despite the many aircraft flying; the inside of those airports are practically ghost towns as well... possibly the fear immediately after 9/11 was much greater as the enemy was more difficult to avoid (since they could cause mayhem anywhere anytime) compared to a virus where you just stay healthy and play your own role in order to avoid safely. I’m glad to hear that you are positive through this situation as well, we will beat this pandemic one way or another!

Did you record this before COVID-19 cause that was a lot of planes and it caused a bunch of flights to get canceled and there were very very few flights when Chicago was on lockdown

He does great video and all hand held. Based on a 2017 video he should be using the Sony FDR-AX53 4K Ultra HD Handycam Camcorder.
That is correct! AX-53, no tri-pod and lots of practice.
Wes is correct! I have sometimes wondered if I should upgrade again but for now this camera gets the job done.

That was at ORD. Delta was using them for cargo flights a lot this year from here since they had nothing else for them to do.
