  • As we open Revelation 8 today, we will again find incredible insights into our Great God in each chapter.
Each of this book’s 404 verses is like a tiny window into understanding a bit more of our All-Powerful and Almighty God.
Almost every one of the seven teaching truths or “doctrines” presented in this chapter is tied to the same doctrines in the other books of the Bible that God has already taught us.
Here is what we see taught in Revelation 8:
    1. The doctrine of Inspiration: God Designed Revelation to Connect the Rest of the Bible (8:1a)
    2. The doctrine of Prayer: God Designed Prayer As our Vital Connection to Him (8:1b-4)
    3. The doctrine of Sovereignty: God Connects Our Prayers to His Plan (8:5-6)
    4. The Doctrine that God is the ONLY Giver & Sustainer of Life (8:7)
    5. The Doctrine that God ALONE Holds the Breath of Life in His Hands (8:8-9)
    6. The Doctrine that God EXCLUSIVELY Controls the Water of Life (8:10-11)
    7. The Doctrine that God is THE Source of the Light of Life (8:12)
Now, walk with me through each verse, and let me explain these doctrines.
    1. The Doctrine of Inspiration: God Designed the Book of Revelation to Connect All the Rest of the Bible
Revelation 8:1a (NKJV) When He opened the seventh seal,
We are here introduced to the seventh seal. The amazing detailed numbers that God uses as a framework to our understanding of His plan, is part of what we need to see, to help us fit everything together that God is telling us.
First, we see how God sometimes uses numbers to communicate truths to us. He has a set of seven numbered seals. That means that there were six seals before this one. Those seals started in chapter 6. We have already studied each one. But think of them as a literal set of events that happen in a specific order, and they are a tool in God’s plan, which is yet in the future.
God's Word Uses Literal, Historical, Grammatical Communication
The Bible is straightforward to understand when we look at it the same way that we look at almost all other communications in life. When we talk, read letters, assignments, menus, texts, and so on, we use this plain, ordinary sense of the literal meanings of words.
For example, when someone tells us: “Two days, three scratches, and five bumps”, we interpret those words as literal and framed by the context of our communication.
If those words were medically tied, we would be looking for changes in health.
If those words are tied to our car, we hear about car body repair or damage.
To understand God's Word, read the Bible as if God were trying to explain His plan to us in plain English. That is what God has done.
Now, look at the sets of sevens God has already shown us for a moment. There is a reason for this repeated usage of sevens. God designed completed sets in groups of seven. For example, seven days represents a complete week of days.
In chapters 2-3, the seven lampstands represent the seven churches, which represent all churches of all ages that Christ's church would exist on Earth.
The seven cities were written to represent all the cities churches would ever exist in. God addresses this message to all believers in all churches for all ages and uses the seven to represent all as a set, a complete list.
So, in one sense, the seals represent all of God’s plans to judge this sinful world and end the rebellion against His holy and absolute rule.

First Trumpet............................Many pieces of a comet which has broken apart fall to earth. There is fire and destruction over a third of the earth. A comet is made of rock and ice which burns as it travels through the atmosphere.

Revelation Chapter 8 was fulfilled in the wars that destroyed the Western Roman Empire.
#1 Attack of Goths led by Alaric and his scorched earth burning policy. Historian Claudian compared their invasions to a hailstorm.
#2 Attack by the Vandals led by Genseric. A historian PhD thesis on the naval battle estimated that one third of the ships of the armies were destroyed.
#3 Attack of the Huns led by Attila. He so desolated the Rhine, Po and upper Danube rivers that a historian wrote "many had died and still continue to die , that drank of the water".
#4 Attack by the Heruli led by Odacer. He conquered Rome itself, the metaphoric heavens.
Later when papal Rome is destroyed in the vials the same symbols of Earth, Sea, Rivers, and Sun are used.

@@jeffc5474 No, there are 13 chapters of events after Revelation 8 before you get to New Jerusalem in chapter 21. This was all taught by the reformers. Check out some historicist prophecy study books. "The Present Reign of Jesus Christ" by Caringola is a good simple summary to start with.
It is important to realize the history here. Emperor Justinian made the Roman Catholic Church the continuance of the Roman Empire, Daniel’s 4th kingdom. In 529 AD with the Code of Justinian it declared “We order all those who follow this law to assume the name of Catholic Christians”. Three and a half times later (1260 years) in 1789 the French Revolution begins ending Justinian law and destroying the temporal power of the Roman Catholic Church and executing its leaders. In 533 AD Emperor Justinian recognized the bishop of Rome as the head of all Churches establishing papal power. 1260 years later in 1793 papal power was removed when France declared the abolition of all religion. In 538 AD Rome was taken by force by Belisarius which fully enabled Justinian law. 1260 years later in 1798 Rome was taken by force and the pope was imprisoned, and Rome declared a republic. Some Christian teachers lose track of Daniel’s fourth kingdom, prophetic Rome, in 476 AD when WESTERN Rome was conquered. But the Capital of Rome had been moved to Constantinople in 330 AD.
The temporal Roman Empire continued until 1453 when it was conquered by Islam and the four sons of Malek Shah who had been held back 391 years since the Islam attack began in 1062, just as when God prophesied and as described in Revelation chapter 9. But when the Muslims took over Constantinople the heads of the Eastern Orthodox Church(who now shared the authority of Rome) decreed the right to rule to the Muslim Caliphate which going forward claimed to be Roman Emperors. Whichever Christian teachers don’t lose Rome at 476 AD, lose it at 1453. But by official acts of the Roman Empire, all the authority of Rome (Daniel’s 4th kingdom) proceeded unbroken into the Roman Catholic Church and the Islamic Caliphate. The importance of this cannot be overstated when it comes to prophecy. The 6 seals of Revelation were the overthrow of pagan Rome, the seal being related to government documents. The 6 trumpets were the overthrow of both Western and Eastern Rome by armies, the trumpet being a military symbol. The seven bowls are the overthrow of the spiritual powers of Rome as described herein, the bowl being used in religious practices.
The decree to rebuild Jerusalem in 457 BC gave the Jews freedom to worship in Jerusalem. 2300 years later in 1844 the Sultan of Turkey issued a decree of religious toleration allowing Christianity in Jerusalem. This began the drying up of the Euphrates (Turkey/Ottoman power) described in Revelation 16.
Just as the papacy had the starts and ends of its power separated by 1260 years, so Islam is separated by 1290 years. In 632 AD Islam started warring against Christendom. 1290 years later in 1922 the Ottoman Empire ends as Turkey’s sultan abdicates. In 634 AD Caliph Omar conquered Jerusalem and the Caliphate is established. 1290 years later in 1924 the Caliphate is abolished. But the event that enabled these two events is even more important. WWI, the Great War, as it was known, had the final great cavalry battle of History led by General Allenby, a brilliant general and devout Christian. That battle was widely discussed at the time because it was the Battle of Armageddon (Megiddo). This led to the liberation of Jerusalem by a Christian from 2520 years (seven times) under pagan rule (604 B.C. Jerusalem taken captive to 1917). Not only did 1917 fulfill the 2520 years of punishment, but 1917 is the year 1335 on the Muslim calendar.
So now you can see your biblical timeframes all tied in to the Roman Empire, Daniel’s 4th kingdom, which brings together Daniel 2, 4, 7, 8, 12, Rev 13, & 17 as expected. Seven times punishment, three and a half times persecution, 1290, 1335, and 2300 all wrapped into Rome the 4th kingdom being destroyed by Christendom.

I realize your futurist teachers have been touting seven years to you and everyone else ever since the antichrist Jesuits introduced that false doctrine, but it is not in scripture. @jeffc5474 I'll ask you again what were the things SOON take place ?
      Why is his coming SOON?
Rev 1:1 ISV This is the revelation of Jesus the Messiah, which God gave him to show his servants the things that must happen soon. He made it known by sending his messenger to his servant John,
Rev 22:20 ISV The one who is testifying to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

    • @jeffc5474
      @jeffc5474 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

Remember, His definition of soon is not ours. Remember Revelation was written after the fall of Jerusalem, not before. Revelation states every eye will see Jesus when He returns. Nobody saw Jesus return in 70 AD so that wasn’t the return of the Messiah. Pray we never meet in this world.
