Almost all American? No love for British translations - most notably the Revised English Bible? There's also 'The Bible for Everyone' translated by Goldingay & Wright, although I find the transliterations in the O.T. jarring.
Most of the great translations are "international" and I don't think we should be too parochial with the nation of origin anyway. I like Gordon Fee's recommendation about "just read them!" Bless you!
