It's not that obvious but actually, EXO knows what's happening inside our fandom. And they always try to repay our struggles every year through a winter album. If you buy an exo album, you can always see EXO-Ls at the credit section and that's really sweet. What made it even more special is usually the sales EXO got with their winter albums always go to charities. They donate in numerous foundations and they're not even bragging about it. We just came to knew about it once a staff share about it to the media.

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Kyungsoo's unique voice gives each song a unique charm. I'm ready to listen to his voice as much as I want.!Waiting for a solo album!
I go back and forth on which version is my favorite version for this song. For me, Luhan brings emotion whenever he sings (like Suho), where on more ballad-type songs like this it always seems like he's on the verge of tears. [He has a famous Chinese song called Tian Mi Mi he covered for a movie's re-release, and it's just so beautiful & ethereal in his voice that his version is kinda the standard^.^] BUT Kyungsoo's voice has such power & impact!~ How is one supposed to pick just one?! ...I pick the version where Baekhyun, D.O, Chen, AND Luhan all sing while Lay plays the piano^.^ This was the song that made me sit up and take notice of Chen, tho~ It was early 2014 (I think) when I watched EXO's 2013 MAMA performance, and I spent the next few days watching everything I could get my hands on. BUT I went in as chronological order (even with variety stuff) as I could. And hearing this song was what made me really look at Chen. His parts are easily my favorite; I always shush people when he starts singing in this song^.^ I, also, drive people around me insane during winter, cause I just put my EXO winter playlist on repeat; my best friend will complain that we just heard certain songs cause I keep both Korean and Chinese versions on the same playlist^.^ A great thing about EXO is that they don't just save their winter songs for winter; even during summer on their tours, they'll do winter songs (hell, during the early tours there was a winter section). It helps that their winter albums turned more away from holiday music and more towards music that fit winter emotionally like soft ballads. [The winter albums are more like a holiday gift to EXO-Ls, less of like cash-grab. In fact, profits for the winter album sales are donated~]

The story (rumour?) I heard was that originally the EXO-K version was supposed to be with D.O., Suho & Baekhyun and the EXO-M version with Luhan, Lay & Chen. But when Chen was recording his part in Mandarin the producers were blown away and had him sing it in Korean as well (& which came across even better). SM knew they had something special & made the decision to include him in both versions and (to dispell any hurt feelings) they put Baekhyun in both as well. You're 100% correct about the sing sounding better in Korean (perhaps it's the translation?)
This is my favorite christmas song. I know its sad but its so beautiful too. I first heard this song live. And even though I couldn't understand I could feel so much emotions in their voices and in the sad handsome faces of ChenBaekSoo. Well, okay specially Kyungsoo.. hehe. It was in EXOluxion Seoul. They are like the trinity main vocals in EXO. But you didnt have to apologize Rennari, appreciating Sehun's visuals or any other EXO member is always the right time.. haha I felt the same when I 1st saw the video.. I remember crying but I still manage to think "omg, don't look at me like that Sehun" 😁 And same here I love the Korean version more with this song. Thanks Rennari 😘💕

I'm a Christmas lover, too and the idea of Kyungsoo starring in a Christmas movie is almost enough to make me cry just thinking about it. I so wish it could happen. 'The Star' is one of the tracks on the 'Miracles in December' album (I'm pretty sure you're going to love the whole thing), while Exodus is a fab track from the second album.
