Anybody remember a night at the Garden when Reggie Fleming beat up John Hanna, socked goalie Jack McCarten and in one of the funniest hockey moments ever, with stick still in hand, chased Shack to the other end of the ice, before finally dropping it and pummeling good old Eddie. Nobody really hurt, but the blue seats shook.

There were times in the 1970's, after he came back to the Leafs, that he was the only thing Leafs fans could cheer for. When the Leafs would be losing again, we used to chant, "we want Shack", we want Shack!". The coach would put him out there and he would skate around like a maniac. Lol. The fans would go insane. And he was just as much of a character guy off the ice too!

One time, the opposing goaltender was knocked out and a stretcher was brought on the ice. As the attendants were gingerly running down the ice Eddie hopped on the stretcher and used his stick as a paddle making like he was in a canoe. A true entertainer, not like the majority today's players who are walking talking individual multi-million dollar bland corporations that say nothing colorful or interesting.
