“A little sad”: Liberals say Conservatives' 2nd non-confidence motion shows “desperation”

- After the Conservatives tabled a second non-confidence motion to try and bring down Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government the day after a failed first attempt, Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre asked during question period on Thursday, “Who would be against the following motion?”
Government House Leader Karina Gould rose to reply simply “Canadians.” She later added, “It's a little sad that the Leader of the Opposition, having just lost a vote of non-confidence in the government yesterday, is putting forward the exact same motion today. I think it shows his desperation.”
Meanwhile, House Speaker Greg Fergus indicated that he docked three questions from the Conservative leader as a penalty after Poilievre declined to withdraw comments from a heated House of Commons exchange last week. NDP MP Heather McPherson said that while she appreciated the acknowledgement, she was “confused by the mixed messaging” by allowing Poilievre to continue participation.
McPherson also raised concern regarding a controversial comment made by a Conservative MP during Wednesday’s question period, regarding Trudeau “sharing a bathtub with Tom Clark.” Conservative MP Garnett Genuis attempted to provide an explanation with context against the “false allegations” of homophobia, saying that the point of the comment “had nothing to do with sex.”

Crazy that they get paid to do this
with our money.
Don’t you dare think about not paying your taxes.
Clown show
When you turn to the bloc for support, that's desperation.
Good one.
So true!!!
Yeah, that was Harper's trick. The Cons will do whatever it takes to take and hold power for their rich donors.
The block should not exist at the federal level, Federal governments are responsible to all Canadians not just the insufferable demands of one province
Desperation is the liberals who have to buy the Bloc and NDP to vote down an election the majority of the people want. Keep track on the cost to Canadians to stop the vote.
...let's see what they think of the 50th non-confidence motion.
What's "sad" is that the Libs still seem to think they have some imperative to govern.
Govern POORLY, you mean.🤣
If you had a single brain cell, you'd understand that he has only one more after this. If a neuron sparked, you'd understand that all parties have extreme ideologies, and most Canadians don't want to vote for any one of these parties.
That’s the issue - they think I’m their insanity that they are the “natural ruling” party of Canada… and Junior thinks he is the heir apparent to the “throne” of Canada… It is the opposite of democracy. I’m a democracy the elected officials represent the will of their constituents, not their own personal greed.
cause they do did you miss the 21 election ?
When leaders try to hold on to power when their shelf life is up. That means they're greedy and don't care about the people. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson voluntarily resigned when he became unpopular with his party. Similarly, New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern voluntarily resigned after becoming unpopular with New Zealanders. While Trudeau's popularity is in the toilet, he's still fighting to stay in power, and that's shameful.
how about we the people vote instead of the corrupt "MPs"
We did, 3 years ago
@@GuyWithJeepOGNo one voted for a coalition with NDP.
@@NZrq9mq actually, I voted NDP, and I'm glad they worked with the other parties to pass legislation, instead of doing nothing but playing theatrics. The parties should be working together on anything that benefits us and voting against things that don't. Not just voting purely for "opposition".
@@GuyWithJeepOG You support the coalition that is driving more Canadians into poverty? And an authoritarian government that abuses its power?
But..... Trudeau called PP and Conservatives homophobic, and that's not in question? His "apology" was not an apology because it was followed by a "but....". It was insincere. Bah. House of Commons is becoming a joke!
The conservatives are still awaiting for a withdrawal and apology for the Pm for calling them natzis three years ago. It is not a house. It is a circus with a massive tent erected in its place
Id suggest they are now veterans of Stand-Up. Just waiting for Netflix special...
Defending inappropriate and homophobic remarks in parliament is exactly why conservatives unite Canadians.
Only problem for conservatives is that it unites the every party represented in parliament except the conservatives against the conservatives.
The greatest gift Trudeau has ever received is the cpc and their members pushing any type of social conservative agenda.
Becoming? It's been a joke for a long time. They act like children instead of full grown adults. Their bosses are literally every citizen in this country but they act like they're entitled to act that way instead of the professionals they're supposed to be.
It's EXTREMELY sad that the most incompetent government in Canada stays in Canada due to politics and playing the system.
Let's go to elections ..... Gould is talking nonsense as always

@@frank5d289that is why Jagmeet’s own people in Brampton called him a sellout.
The only problem for conservatives is that pierre and the cpc are even more in favour of corporate power and even more anti-worker than the liberals.
If poilievre actually did something to help workers like introduce a bill strengthening unions instead of confidence votes bound to fail he might actually win over some non-conservatives.
Or if he did like Harper and promised to not allow his party to go after LGBTQ rights, abortion access, and healthcare he might have a chance of keeping high numbers when he starts getting attacked during a campaign and maybe even keep the strategic vote from going against him.
However, he promised to allow his party to introduce and vote on abortion and now has members of his party making homophobic comments in parliament.
