Benson: Germanium Preamp

The Benson Germanium Preamp puts a fresh spin on the company’s legendary Preamp pedal, replacing the first FET transistor with a warm, spongy germanium one. The result is a slightly lower gain version of this classic amp-in-a-box, with more color, richness, and that signature germanium compression. It’s particularly great into a clean, high-headroom amp, and makes an ideal front end for any pedal platform. In this demo video we’ll take the Benson Germanium Preamp for a spin in a full band context on baritone and guitar, then we’ll explore the range of tones and functions of the control set.

Exactly! Yeah, it's particularly awesome on bass. I couldn't work a bass bit into this vid for logistical reasons, but it's fantastic and keeps the deep low end quite nicely. Have to do a bass thing with it soon
