I love this moment. Great interpretation of both of the actors

this isn't week 7! week 7 is so much greater, because we get the revelation about sophie ("she says you saved her life.") as well as paul at his absolute best (living "as if" therapy is really helpful after his last conversation with Gina). also, i think the fact of paul's telling april's mother about her cancer is kind of a grey area, just as taking her to chemo was, perhaps unprofessional from a therapeutic standpoint, but on a basic, human level, the right thing to do.

@ControlMastery fair enough. however, consider paul's position: april was using him as a way to avoid calling her family. is it really appropriate for paul to have to be the one to answer every time april has a medical emergency? he'd already spent 4 weeks trying to convince her to tell her mother, and only called her when he realized april had put him down as her emergency contact. at that point he really only had two choices: continue acting as april's mother, or notify her mother.

Maybe Paul needs to learn to say "sorry"

Everyone failing April, just when she really needs someone to be a rock in her life, be someone who she can rely on, so sad.

Yes, it's bad therapy--but it's good drama! You have to keep that in mind. I'm in therapy right now and my sessions are NOTHING like these. My sessions wouldn't get any ratings. The drama makes the show.

Exactly. I think this channel is taking the show too seriously.

I don't follow. I could understand contending that parents should never be brought into therapy. I gather that's not your position, yet wouldn't most any patient's parents be largely responsible for their pathogenic beliefs, and if not, why bring them into therapy?
Insofar as you regard Paul as "clueless" about family matters, why should only April flee, and only now?
Are you judging sessions we have seen with his patients, or what we learn about Paul's behavior/issues with his family?
