Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific parce.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music composition and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer of this new version.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Ella se educó desde los 8 años hasta los 18 años en el Conservatorio Real de Bruselas lugar donde Nació además, luego de terminar sus estudios se mudó a Canada específicamente a Quebec, pero no fue allí donde lanzó su carrera, haciéndolo en Montreal, alguien dijo " cantantes hay muchas y muy buenas, pero cantante/intérprete hay una sola y es Lara Fabian ", para muchos la mejor cantante del Mundo y para mi también por sobre las demás.

"Adagio" es un término italiano usado en la jerga musical clásica/operística para delinear un tempo bastante lento.
De hecho, todos los términos para describir el "tempo musical" tienen una derivación italiana, por ejemplo, "Lento, Lentissimo, Andante,
Allrgro... y así sucesivamente" y no tienen traducción, se pronuncian así también en otros idiomas.
La composición musical de "Adagio" fue esbozada originalmente por el compositor italiano "Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni".
nació y vivió en Venecia entre 1671 y 1751 y fue escrita en "sol m" para cuerdas y órgano y no tenía texto.
Aunque más tarde la composición final fue escrita por otro compositor italiano llamado "Remo Giazotto" sobre los fragmentos encontrados de la composición original esta obra será conocida en el mundo como "Adagio di Albinoni"
En 1999, la cantautora italo\belga "Lara Fabian" escribe e interpreta el texto de esta obra en dos versiones, una en inglés y otra en italiano, manteniendo el título original.... por eso la canción se llama " Adagio". .. pero en realidad con el texto literario no tiene nada que ver.
Obviamente siendo una gran canción ha tenido muchos intérpretes a lo largo del tiempo, hasta llegar a nuestro Dimash, quien siendo un gran fan de Lara Fabian, como todos sabemos, quiso rendir homenaje a esta gran intérprete.

Es cierto que el Adagio tiene un significado musical, pero también tiene uno filosófico y es el que Lara utiliza en esta canción. En ese sentido, la palabra Adagio, refiere a una sentencia breve que evoca un proverbio, una máxima, que contiene algún elemento de conocimiento o experiencia trascendente. Johnny Hallyday fue uno de los mejores cantantes franceses y en su entierro en Diciembre del 2017 fue despedido por un millón de personas al paso del feretro por los Campos Elíseos.
Él es el autor de la canción y el concierto es suyo pero hace un Dúo MARAVILLOSO con Lara. Este concierto bajo la lluvia fue visto por 80.000 personas en directo. Muchas Gracias

Well, thank you for that reaction. I have to admit that I was only familiar with this song through a cover that I have heard, so I caught your comment about many covers being done. I had no idea that Lara Fabian had such a wonderful, powerful voice.I enjoyed this original so very much and I think I'll go look up more by her. I want to say this right, because I don't think that the cover I heard was better, or worse, just different, perhaps more hopeful. It was by another vocalist that you have just become familiar with and, I think, enjoy, Floor Jansen, from Nightwish (this song not with Nightwish, though). For Lara this is not a cover, this is her song, she wrote the lyrics. And also she wrote an italian version.

@@ericsicard910 Apologies, I must not have made myself clear in my original post. I know Lara did the original, and, as I said, I think it was wonderful and intend to look into more of her work. I also think that there is value, and recognition of a great song, in a cover. And, that a good cover doesn't follow the original note for note, but allows for the covering artist's own interpretation. I am not meaning to denigrate Lara in any way, she's magnificent, but merely pointing out another version that I think that Cami may enjoy, as well. It is apparent that you are a great supporter of Lara's and I can respect that, so let's just enjoy her music.
