The Srirangam temple is one of the three main temples of Sri Ranganathaswamy and is called the Antya Ranga (the last Ranga).
The 3 main Ranganathaswamy Temples are:-
Adi Ranga: the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangapatna, Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, Karnataka.
Madhya Ranga: the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Shivanasamudra, Kollegala taluk, Chamarajanagara district, Karnataka.
Antya Ranga: the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam, Srirangam taluk, Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu.
According to the temple's website, Srirangam is considered the biggest functioning Hindu temple in India.
The temple complex is enormous and has seven prakaras (enclosures). There are 21 magnificent towers in all prakaras providing a unique sight to the devotees and visitors.
The highest gopuram called the Rajagopuram is at the outermost prakara and the lowest gopuram is at the innermost.
The temple is extremely crowded during the Dhanur Maasa in the winter season as devotees aim to visit all 3 Ranga Temples on the same day, as it is considered auspicious.
Srirangam is definitely a place worth visiting to get darshan of the beautiful Ranganatha Swamy.
