We all play games for a reason.
Some try to escape reality.
Maybe it's their lack of real friends or confidence, and need a world that cares about or even revolves around them.
Sometimes, we find that we are lost, scared. And we are always helped along. And finally, when all is said and done, we have to say goodbye to those new friends we have made. In some games, we can go back and see them once more. But sometimes, it really is goodbye. No matter how long I live, I will cherish the memories this game has made, and will never forget the time I spent with the friend I will never see again.

Niko has to live with the guilt of letting a world destroy itself.. A world he could have saved..
In OneShot: Solstice, he realizes this is all a game, that everyone he meets is fake. He wonders why he needs to save a fake world with everyone being nothing but code and programming, all for the fun of his god. He then manages to tame the world machine, making it go out of its code and reprogramming itself.
I won't ruin it for you. Gotta play it for yourself to understand.

SirMisterAstral I was in the same boat with the World Machine up until Niko mentioned that about the characters doing things they weren't supposed to.It was funny how both me and the World Machine were surprised at the same time.

I’ve never even played the game, yet this track got a couple of tears while listening and reading the comments. All I know about OneShot is from the TH-cam comment section, and you know what? I’m not googling it, I’m not looking it up, I made a promise to myself the I will go into this game blindly, so I get the real experience. I have not touched anything from this fandom except the beautiful music, and I think I will be ready soon, to play the game. Soon. Not yet. Soon
Edit: I’ve finally played the game. Having Niko literally leave the game in the Solstice ending hurt. Niko became such a dear friend to me. They are real, the game says so repeatedly. Maybe one day, I’ll meet them again. Until then, I can only hope and dream.

This game was amazing, i will never forget Niko and a lot of other people also won't. The solstice ending got me to tears, and so did this song. Its just the feeling of saying goodbye to a friend you've been so much time with, knowing you won't be able to see them again. It just makes everyone sad. Thank you for making this, now i'll go cry in a corner.

Oneshot changed my life forever- but in a good way...
oneshot is that type of game that you can't ever bring yourself to start again because it might lose its magic...
When all is said and done, you will never get the same experience.
No matter how many times you play it over, there's nothing you will be able to do to get that same emotional burden,
but if it brings you even the tiniest bit of solace, you know, deep down, Niko, and the virtual program of OneShot are both happy.
The ending may have been bittersweet, but it was the absolute best you could've done...

even tho as an 11 year old kid when it came out.. i never took much interest in things in the past and, i finally thought about it 5 days ago, and i was trying to search it up and see what it was about.. i ended up watching mark play it, i saw solstice before i even played it!, and i guess i disrespected the game for what it was, i saw how people felt about it through old 3 year old comments from beyond current day, so.. i bought it and even though i had already seen some thing's from it, i still wanted the connection with it, and the fact that the little guy said my name through a text box.. made me feel *happy* inside.. and even if i can't cry, the feelings i have, will linger on, both because i had never taken Oneshot into consideration at a younger age (currently 16 as of right now) AANND because i watched someone play it first.. soo you know what? ... Niko, take care my friend, i won't EVER forget you until the day i pass.. goodbye Niko :')

Y’know, whenever I restart the game through the magic of file deleting, I actually feel kind of bad, like it’s a really selfish thing of me to do to rip Niko away from their home over and over so I can spend more time with them; sadly, after resolving to never touch the game again and let Niko be happy, I got a new computer, opened the game, and pressed start thinking it’d only show me that image of the starting room (or whatever it does, I forget), however clearly my files of a save file didn’t save so Niko is back.. I kinda feel like it’s my obligation now to go through the regular run and then the solstice run again to bring Niko back home
Edit: oof, didn’t realise this is my second comment on this.
Double edit: In one several hour marathon of both runs, Niko has finally been put back home. Woo!

Coming back to this video after a year and revisiting the memories of this game is amazing, thinking of what I was doing a year ago to now, it's amazing how much people grow, this game was so spectacular and had such an amazing story with beautiful themes, and I really will cherish it, the lessons that this game teaches are inspirational, and it was nice revisiting it through this truly fantastic song

I finished playing One Shot a few days ago. I hate how I always arrive late for every fandom. I'm truly hooked on this game and it sucks to see that there isn't much content posted for it anymore. This song 100% made me teary eyed lol. I hope one day I will be able to see Niko again... somehow... watching gameplay and listening to the One Shot songs really gets me all emotional. This song is no different. I really wish that I had found One Shot sooner...

Recently I’ve had a very cool thought. You ever noticed how Niko’s cat ears aren’t actually apart of her body? It’s actually apart of her hat. And if I’m right, if I recall. Her mother also has the same kind of hat. This gets to a serious thought...
What if... that hat is actually a cultural hat, or maybe apart of a belief. That got me thinking even more! What is her species like? And is there billions of other cat people! Did they build city’s like us! Perhaps. Did they’re history follow ours, just different species. Or is there different races of cat people. Perhaps slight differences like skin colour? Or different hair colours. I want to see a game where we get to explore Niko’s world. Idk if it’s just me, but to me it feels like the OneShot fandom isn’t complete yet.

Playing OneShot was an amazing experience would be a Heavy understatement. Playing OneShot ascends Any Other Story Game I’ve Ever Played, words do not describe the feeling I felt while playing and after the story ended. It was true wonders I shall never forget. Ah yes... this helped me remember how broken hearted this game made me feel. I've never even played it. I just watched some TH-camr (I think it was something along the lines of Melonz) play it, and ever since, I feel like I can't look at this game and not be upset. But... as the music plays near the end, I can't help but also feel a sense of peace...

I want another game on OneShot where you actually get to explore Niko’s word. Cat people everywhere in city’s would really fascinate me seeing Niko’s species. Making your way through the world and most ultimately.. seeing Niko once again. I would have tears in my eyes seeing her again (or could be a he, but I think it’s a female) I bet she or he would have tears in her or his eyes too. After so long we would finally be able to see each other again. Niko is the best character I have ever known. I think it’s going to stay the same forever.
