They can be compared. It will almost certainly boil down to the kind of ecosystem you enjoy. Android has its pros and cons compared to ios. Samsung normally has certain crazy features in their flagship phones whereas Apple normally gives what will probably be needed and enhances their software quality. If you ask me which of those has a better and more reliable ecosystem in general, I would go for Apple, yet Samsung will always have a certain feature that might not be present in any other phone and has a very good ecosystem as well. So it all ends with personal preference
