With this being my first experience with Tyler the Creator, I didn't know what to expect. I especially didn't expect an album with such a strong and heart-wrenching narrative. I've heard that musically and thematically that this album differs from his other work but this has me excited for more Tyler. Let me know your thoughts!
nah, igor is good but doesn't "stand out", it's just insanely popular, other albums like DAMN. or even just Good Kid, M.A.A.D City stand out more as they tell an actual story, imo even Goblin. stands out so much more than igor
@@Kenjicrafts I said all his albums stand out. Because they're all incredible different styles. Also, IGOR absolutely tells a story, what are you on about, lmao?
fun fact about the albums end, the last synth/note on are we still friends ends unresolved, but actually perfectly resolves on the starting synth of igors theme, making the album and love cycle an endless loop, which also makes it way more sad lol
If you enjoyed igor i wholeheartedly reccomend Flower Boy (my personal favorite Tyler album). Other album reccomendations include This is Why by Paramore & Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappel Roan in terms of albums that have dropped seni-recently. Loved this !!
As someone who has this album in some of my favorites of all time I kinda agree that no specific song stands out. My favorite is WHAT’S GOOD but I never just recommend the song to people. To only listen to one song from this album is robbing people of an experience. I could never recommend just one song to someone without recommending the whole album. I believe this is something that needs to be experienced as a whole in order to appreciate the songs singularly.
35:24 if you listen to his earlier albums like goblin, bastard, and even wolf to some extent they were very much "juvenile" and i can see where your view of Tyler came from
If you were wondering where the "aggressive Tyler" idea came from, just listen to either Goblin or Bastard, the latter of which is only available on Spotify via podcasts as it is not a studio album. Be warned though, there are slurs and offensive things galore, as well as some triggering topics which I will not state(these were released 2009 and 2011). Awesome vid, glad to have found your channel!
Hi, this is the first reaction video I’ve seen from you and it definitely won’t be my last. I usually only skip through the reaction videos, but I watched the whole video this time. I just love the way you talk. Very calm, clear and comfortable. You give of a really good vibe and you seem like a good dude. Best of luck in the future.
hi, loved your reaction! i recommend you listen to flower boy, and call me if you get lost and frank ocean’s blonde, tyler also has a new album called chromakopia coming out scheduled on october 28
The way I got semi-doxxed after the recording of this stream 🤣 This album is so fucking sad lmao. I still love how Igor's theme is really all over the whole album's production DNA. IGOR STOP FALLING FOR YOUR STRAIGHT/CLOSETED HOMIES. PICK YOURSELF UP, BESTIE.
you should def listen to boyfriend! which replaces the interlude "exactly what you run from you end up chasing" and its so good also CMIYGL is a def next listen too imo, its so good and has so many good songs
Loved this reaction for one of my favorite albums!! I cannot listen to this without shedding a tear or 2. Obviously I agree with the comments that you should definitely hear flower boy next, but I also think you’d love Juno by remi wolf. It’s also one of my all time favorites.
Knowing that this album can be looped from start to end due to the starting deep synth sound in Igor's theme and the same deep synth sound in are we still friends? Matches up adds another layer of hurt 🤕
looove your video style, this is my all time fave 😭🫶 would love to see you react to JID's the forever story, absolute cult favorite modern rap album! just make sure you get the extended version for the track 2007, it wasn't cleared for the original. would also love to see you get into kendrick if you haven't already, so much stuff to dig into and analyze there. keep up the good work!
This has been one of my favorite albums for a while, so i was pretty surprised when a different artist that that i love released an album that felt somewhat reminiscent of igor. Its not the same (obviously), but "right place wrong person" by RM is probably my favorite album this year. Hes from the group BTS, but you really cant judge a book by its cover when it comes to them. If you do decide to do a reaction to it i would recommend using lyric videos on youtube since it is partially english and partially korean. (p.s. this is the first vidoe of yours ive watched and i really enjoyed it. Ill be checking out more videos for sure :)
As someone recently getting into Tyler via Igor, ive been looking for every reaction possible. This one is great! You provide great reactions and make it entertaining. Looking forward to more!
I'd love for you to react to WOLF, that album still feels like he's a rebellious teen but that one feels like a movie moreso then any of his albums I think (Tyler was literally planning on making a movie out of it)
That’s the amazing thing about Tyler his music is heavily introspective and story driven but his ability to produce and write makes it an easy listen if you don’t want to think
Wait till he finds out the album is a loop because he did not truly get over him so the loop of friends to potential lovers to the other guy hiding his true sexuality is a cycle he can’t get out of because he never fell out of love with him and the other guy doesn’t want to show his true self (according to Tyler’s character)
The albums you most likely heard were goblin, and wolf because those were when he was pretty young and those albums are really loud and up in your face.
28:07 If you like that type of stuff, I very highly suggest I Didn't Mean To Haunt You and Scrapyard, by Quadeca. The amount of layers and sound is amazing. I'm not much of a Tyler fan, but A Boy Is A Gun specifically reminds me of Quadecas production/layers (which he doesn't entirely himself)
The only past 3 albums by Tyler haven’t been aggressive, but listen to cherry bomb, wolf, goblin or bastard (all much earlier projects than Igor) and you’ll know why you expected more harsh music. 😙 My personal favorite is wolf with how the album sounds more classical and synth at times but I’d definitely recommend listening to Flower Boy or Call me if you get lost: The estate sale next since you started out with Igor ☺️
Pleaseeee do “Swimming” or “Circles” by Mac Miller they were both recorded within the final stages of his life and are so beautiful to listen to and experience if you ever need to clear your mind and really think about things
With this being my first experience with Tyler the Creator, I didn't know what to expect. I especially didn't expect an album with such a strong and heart-wrenching narrative. Oh yeah and you NEED to listen to born to die by Lana del Rey or Ultraviolence if u haven’t already
@@graceconley9869 Lana is on my list. We'll get to it eventually!
He loves chords as much as Stevie Wonder does
Listen to Goblin or Bastard 💀💀🙏🙏
Who’s gonna tell bro that it loops and IGOR is a cycle that continues…
i really thought chromakopia would do this too when i heard the end, but it starts with his mother talking
As "one of the crazy Tyler fans", all his albums stand out amongst the others.

I feel you heavy on that one. Front to back It's just stellar

Appreciate the love, I'll keep at it!
Don't wanna push you towards anything, but hip hop calls for you
More hip hop is on the menu, believe me!
Igor is my Devilman. It's sad, it's hopeless, it's disappointing, it repeats, I'm there at the corner crying to it every time.

A Frank Ocean reaction WILL happen one day I promise

That’s crazy! I also just started listening to Tyler, I think I started listening to him about 2 months ago.
I have this album on vinyl and can confirm it does sound amazing.
it really does, and it has BOYFRIEND, which is an amazing track and i’m sad it isn’t on spotify
The way I got semi-doxxed after the recording of this stream 🤣

I second a JID reaction.
If you really want another album focused on story by Tyler you should check out Wolf! It actually has 2 main characters that each song can focus on

I really do recommend cmiygl or flower boy! Though they’re more rap, i still think you’ll enjoy them if you like igor!
the more aggresive albums are like cherry bomb or goblin maybe. The older allbums are often more aggresive some times.

As an “insane tyler fan” it’s all different. Everything is different.
TYLER'S BACK BABY

In the first note of the album, it starts with (BB). In the end of the album, the final note is (EB). In the same synth. He left changed.
