Lily James joins BBC Radio 1's film critic Ali Plumb to talk about her new TV show The Pursuit of Love, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Sunday 9th May. They also look back on Cinderella, working with Meryl Streep on Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and how Baby Driver is probably the coolest film she'll ever star in. But then she reveals that everyone still just remembers her from Downton Abbey!

I can't be the only person who thinks Cinderella is the best live action Disney adaptation ever! So glad Emma Watson didn't take the role, Lily was perfect and amazing as Cinderella

I think as far as casting goes, all live action Disney movies are awesome. The only complaint people have with them is that they are the same which is quite literally the meaning of a reboot.
@@averagestudent1158Well it's a live action adaptation, it has to follow everything how the animated movie works. People are concern about how they would do justice to the animated movie and how Disney will tell the story in live action in a different way that will still capture the magic of the animated movie. If they failed on that, then people can complain about that. Also on judging the technical aspect of the live action movie and the performances. Plus Disney like to add some new stuff to the live action movie that didn't exists in the animated movie. Some were good addition, some were unnecessary
The Lion King was the least and the worst of all Disney live action adaptation tbh. The visuals were great however its soulless, the personality is empty and its literally a copy and paste movie. There is no reason why The Lion King live action adaptation should exists, it is just a piece of cash grab. So NOT all Disney live action adaptation movie are awesome, some are great, some are average or even ok, some deserved a live action adaptation, some should just stay animated, some Disney animated movie you could easily picture it in real life. Lion King is the movie that should've never been remake into a live action adaptation, its pointless. For me, the live action adaptation of Aladdin was average, Beauty and the Beast was ok, The Jungle Book was great, Lady and The Tramp was average, Dumbo was good, The Lion King and Mulan was dissapointing and Cinderella was amazing and by far my favorite Disney live action adaptation, you could easily picture Cinderella as a live action movie. My opinion, Cinderella is the best of all live action Disney adaptation. It truly captures the heart and the magic of the original animated film
And again, not all Disney animated movie needed a live action, if it does, then its just a piece of cash grab, cuz you know how Disney works. It's all just money these days

So good to know that Cinderella still has a big place in Lily’s heart, the way she became emotional while talking about it made me tear up too, since 2015’s Cinderella is also my favorite live action adaptation from Disney 🥺
So glad that she is still very much thankful for the chance given to her to portray a now iconic role, coz to be honestly speaking I rarely see big stars now acknowledging the films that made them a household name in Hollywood (Looking at you Zac Efron and Jacob Elordi). She really is Cinderella, the epitome of beauty with a kind heart 💖

From all Disney live action adaptation, Cinderella is my favorite and that's the only Disney adaptation that I could watch all over again. Love the movie and Lily as Cinderella. She was amazing and perfect as Cinderella 🙌🙌
Is there anything she can’t do? She is funny, energetic, elegant, serious, beautiful and she can SING and DANCE. She can do any role! And the roles she played! Donna, Cinderella and Lady Rose! I think every actor is so jealous of her, but she deserves it!

LesMisCye I wouldn’t say she’s grounded, a lot of smaller actors/ extras who’s worked with her on set said she was a nightmare, total diva, didn’t give anyone the time of day and was very rude to the crew on set! Not to mention her having affairs on married men.
I notice that when a man in Hollie cheats on his wife nobody brings it up to downplay his career or they say is part of his personal life, but when a women in Hollywood does something similar it gets brought up every time. Regardless of the situation, Lily is a beautiful & amazing actress that played the perfect Cinderella ❤️

Lily James is by far such an amazing and humble actress who really gives her all in every movie and show she does. She truly morphs into every character she plays and you can to help but be totally swept away. I truly adore her in nearly every role. I hope that people will get over the personal snuff pieces in media and really see how talented she is and dedicated to her craft. So good.
She’s a lovely actress, there’s so many timeless roles she’s given us already! So many hours of happy entertainment that wouldn’t have been as fun or inspiring without her contribution to the craft. I honestly wish we could give back even a part of some of what she’s already given us. If by any chance you ever read this, Lily James, all I want to say is, Thank You.

@Felizya Desjarlais she didn’t make out with him. It only appears that way in the photo. If you look closely, though, it shows Dominic kissing her neck. In another one he’s rubbing her back. She was on her phone and looking off in the distance during their scooter ride. Essentially, Dominic put her in an uncomfortable position while married. Then he went back to his wife and acted like nothing happened. He basically played both of them and the blame was placed on Lily via the media. But he’s the problem, not her.
