I would guess that's just because Infra isn't a popular game and so TH-cam recommends it less than the games he plays that have larger overall audiences. 30K people watching your video in a few hours isn't bad.

We had green mushrooms for ages, and how golden ones? Also, given the entire series, feels like a bunch of companies coalesced together to make a self-sufficient underground network. Everything is connected to either sources of water, food and even mines, PLUS a metallurgic industry. It is bonkers!
Easily one of my favorite series along with timberborners. My wife keeps asking me if I'm ever going to play any of these games or if I'll just watch someone else play... I have no intention of playing them. It's the dry humor and banter that I'm here for! 😁
I don't know what impresses me most about this games main character. His parkour skills or his sheer dedication to document derelict constructions even when a literal explosion goes off around him.
I'm an electrical engineer in America and when I was watching this I was about to have a stroke seeing the generators at 49Hz and you not seeing there was a massive problem. I keep forgetting you're on a 50 Hz system and only less than 1 Hert off instead of 11!
It took me a bit to realize that one, too, and why 3000rpm was the target both in the power plant and way back at the dam. 50Hz * 60sec = 3000rpm, duh.
Maybe not comparitavely but this has over 30K already in a matter of hours. 30K people is alot if you stop and imagine them all being in one place. I think that it's just the way the algorithm works, i bet you if you look at the stats a lot of the views on this series are subscribers, and the ones with a silly amount of views are mostly randoms that got it in their recommended. This game isn't as popular in general so YouTuble recommends it less.
Infra is a great game, and RCE is always entertaining... but I don't agree with how he edits this series. Cutting out most of the in-game voices and lore only to replace it with a brief summary that gives little detail. He could have simply had more videos in the series, he already had the footage recorded anyway.

Before beginning I have to point out a error on my part, Part 3 begins AFTER the power plant (at the moment of 'SHIT BROKE!' to be precise) 1. That is not the FIRST bomb in the game, that is the SECOND (the first s in Part 1 prior to entering the Dam in the 'neighborhood') 2. If you watch the water flow out you will find Captain Teddy B. manning his pleasure yacht 3. Robin being trapped in a room is one of those 'split decision' moments. You COULD go save him, or you can take him at his word that he's 'OK' and leave him to die. It affects certain things later on
I was hesitant to watch your infra series at first, thinking that it would just be another cheaply-made unity game. But damn this is a very detailed game, and the suspense is killing me
It's probably because these videos are part of a series that you can't really start watching the newest video and understand what's happening (at least if you haven't played the game), so you have to watch the whole series, which could put people off. Meanwhile the other videos, even the timbeborners ones, you are able to watch it in basically any order.

But my point was that this is more of a story driven series, and so if people want to follow the story, it's recommended that they start at the beginning, and that could be what puts people off. Or maybe they're waiting for the series to be finished so they can watch the whole thing without interruptions in the middle while they wait for new videos.

This series is my favorite. The game is fun, has some funny moments, and your injection of real world facts and experience makes it even the more entertaining. I found you for the Beavers and stayed for the falling elevators. This series earned my subscription.

I really enjoy this series. I'd consider playing the game but I don't have a lot of time/energy. Watching you play in 20-30 minute chunks is easily digestible though
This is the series that got me to subscribe to you. I PLAYED this game to completion, and started a second run (got about 2/3s of the way through) to try and grab all the achievements. It really is an insanely big game, and so much storytelling. Glad you saved Robin too, he helps you out later (when things get REALLY crazy. Yes it gets even more insane).
I bought this game after watching a couple of your videos and don't regret it at all, in fact I played through it over the span of a couple weeks and enjoy the pace that it has although had a rough time with some of the puzzles. It is a 20+ hour play through if you like taking your time and I would say you are about 2/3 of the way through where you left off. I was excited to see you at this part of the game because I completely lost my mind when those generators blew up... oh but it gets so much worse and nothing can prepare you for what happens at the end so I won't spoil it since there are two endings which was a nice touch. Oh and you don't have to save Robin... but good on you :)

This is INSANE that this doesn't do as well as other videos. I discovered your channel about 4 months ago with Freeways (random algorithm offering and i liked the thumbnail lol). Finally all catched up with INFRA. This game is incredible, I love the level design and the overarching plot/lore. It's interesting how you can repeatedly "almost" reach the outside world and other people before finding yourself in another forgotten place underground. There is this ever present feeling of being lost and disconnected and ti gives you a sense of dread the whole time. Good stuff! I hope you'll eventually make it back to the office and ask Doris out. Fingers crossed :D
I seriously love this series. I probably wouldn't have looked twice at this game if I hadn't seen you play it; turns out it is incredibly detailed, and I'm seriously considering buying it someday. Please do finish the game! I understand longer series with progression might get lower results, though.
fun fact! few days ago i found rebar poking out of the second floor well floor in my works building. thing is the place has been open for less than a year!! also i can see the texture of rebar underneath the surface around 200sqft area around it as well super fun!

At 10 Hz slow, it would likely stop spinning altogether. Ar 17:45, the speed didn't go up when you opened both valves because the unit was synchronized to the grid, and the grid frequency was steady. If you noticed, the power output went from 0 at synchronization to 30 MW when you fully opened both valves and then you could turn on the automatic generation controller for the boiler
Exactly! Also at 17:45 the frequency alarm was still on because the total power generated was still 60 MW, the same as before. The two turbines were each getting half steam from the single operating boiler, so each generator was running at half power. When the second boiler came on, both turbines got full steam and drove their generators at full power. So total power increased to 120 MW, the grid frequency increased to nearly the normal 50 Hz, and the alarm stopped. (Then everything exploded. But I'm pretty sure it was due to the bomb in the coal, and I don't think there was any way in the game to avoid it?)
@@Kumquat_Lord Both are possible, but much harder to pull off as certain mechanics like climbing were rewritten by the devs. So although it's the same engine, the player mechanics are different (you can climb ledges, ladders are no longer as heinous to climb etc.). B-hopping is possible, although it's a bit harder to pull off and doesn't seem to give you crazy speeds.
@@LordDragox412 i dont know why people complain about ladders in Source, they are intuitive and satisfying. the ladders in GoldSrc were a bit worse but still reasonably usable
I guess these generators have automatic synchronization since RCE didn't have to watch the scope for correct phase... but in one of the early episodes (ep 2 I think) at a different location, it was fully manual including closing the breaker as the phase passed zero. I was genuinely impressed that he managed it given the incomplete instructions in-game!

My subconscious read the game as infrared. For a couple reasons, mainly because that’s the closest word with infra in that I know, but also because I’m doing a thermal physics module at uni, and also also because as I read the title, I glanced at my wall, and thought “red” cuz my light bulb was red. Love it

I think the unexploded ww2 bomb on the coal conveyor belt was pulled into the fire when you started up the other generator which could be why it blew up... Just a guess.

I'm pretty impressed with the technical knowledge the developers have with the systems in this game. The problem in the turbine generators is not far off from what would happen in the real world if you brought a second generator on line that wasn't phase synchronized to the first generator. The explosions that can happen are from massive power surges in the windings of the generators because when out of phase, you basically short the two generators together. Even in a "protected" system, the fuses that protect each phase of the generator(s) are about the size of a man's forearm, and in an extreme short would blow up like a stick of dynamite.
i thought the explosion had something to do with the undetonated warhead he found earlier in the coal hopper. the warhead was on the conveyor system that fed the boiler. so when the boiler was turned on, the conveyers were started to supply the coal and the warhead was chucked into it.
@@MasterOfTruckIn most power plants the furnace and boiler are separated from the turbines. In this one, the furnace fuel hopper is the large round chamber where Matt jumped from the conveyer to the center hub with the circular stair. It's not easy to tell how big the separation is by watching Matt twist and turn through the building, but there is some distance between the two. Now whether the devs did it intentionally or not, notice that the explosion happens in the turbine room AND the flash is bright blue - that would be from an electrical arc explosion ... in the real world. It's the switch labels and the procedure that is questionable.
I'm surprised to hear these aren't getting views, they're probably my favorite series on the channel! That said I think YT doesn't like to recommend them for some reason. Maybe you need to add them to a playlist or something?
I only stopped watching your playthrough because I knew I needed to finish the game myself first. What a nifty game--It's funny how 'walking simulators' can end up being such interesting experiences.
Spalling. Where the concrete has fallen off the rebar it's known as spalling. The concrete has spalled off the rebar. I've watched all the videos in this series and I finally have to say something, I've been holding on since episode 1 of Infra... :p Water damage in the concrete expands during the freeze-thaw cycle breaking the concrete and exposing the rebar to the elements, which can then corrode and then the whole structure loses the tensile strength of the steel rebar.

I seriously love this series. I probably wouldn't have looked twice at this game if I hadn't seen you play it; turns out it is incredibly detailed, and I'm seriously considering buying it someday.
Please do finish the game! I understand longer series with progression might get lower results, though.

fun fact! few days ago i found rebar poking out of the second floor well floor in my works building. thing is the place has been open for less than a year!! also i can see the texture of rebar underneath the surface around 200sqft area around it as well super fun!

Also that synchroscope at 13:28 is actually accurate to a slow frequency. If anything, it's not spinning fast enough. At 10 Hz slow, it would likely stop spinning altogether.
Ar 17:45, the speed didn't go up when you opened both valves because the unit was synchronized to the grid, and the grid frequency was steady. If you noticed, the power output went from 0 at synchronization to 30 MW when you fully opened both valves and then you could turn on the automatic generation controller for the boiler

Also at 17:45 the frequency alarm was still on because the total power generated was still 60 MW, the same as before. The two turbines were each getting half steam from the single operating boiler, so each generator was running at half power.
When the second boiler came on, both turbines got full steam and drove their generators at full power. So total power increased to 120 MW, the grid frequency increased to nearly the normal 50 Hz, and the alarm stopped.
(Then everything exploded. But I'm pretty sure it was due to the bomb in the coal, and I don't think there was any way in the game to avoid it?)
I haven't seen the whole series but this game certainly is interesting and I hope to see it through to the end
YES! A synchroscope! My study days return back! Would have been even more fun if you had to manually synchronize the generators with the synchroscope

@@Kumquat_Lord Both are possible, but much harder to pull off as certain mechanics like climbing were rewritten by the devs. So although it's the same engine, the player mechanics are different (you can climb ledges, ladders are no longer as heinous to climb etc.). B-hopping is possible, although it's a bit harder to pull off and doesn't seem to give you crazy speeds.
@@LordDragox412 i dont know why people complain about ladders in Source, they are intuitive and satisfying. the ladders in GoldSrc were a bit worse but still reasonably usable
This game has a functional synchroscope?!?! Holy hell the attention to detail is amazing
I guess these generators have automatic synchronization since RCE didn't have to watch the scope for correct phase... but in one of the early episodes (ep 2 I think) at a different location, it was fully manual including closing the breaker as the phase passed zero. I was genuinely impressed that he managed it given the incomplete instructions in-game!
Was literally thinking to myself: haven't seen Infra in a while. Wonder if he uploaded yet. And BOOM, there it is. My favorite ongoing series of RCE. 💯

My subconscious read the game as infrared. For a couple reasons, mainly because that’s the closest word with infra in that I know, but also because I’m doing a thermal physics module at uni, and also also because as I read the title, I glanced at my wall, and thought “red” cuz my light bulb was red. Love it

I think the unexploded ww2 bomb on the coal conveyor belt was pulled into the fire when you started up the other generator which could be why it blew up...

I love how seemingly open world infra is, yet it still guides you through the main storyline without you knowing
I'm pretty impressed with the technical knowledge the developers have with the systems in this game. The problem in the turbine generators is not far off from what would happen in the real world if you brought a second generator on line that wasn't phase synchronized to the first generator. The explosions that can happen are from massive power surges in the windings of the generators because when out of phase, you basically short the two generators together. Even in a "protected" system, the fuses that protect each phase of the generator(s) are about the size of a man's forearm, and in an extreme short would blow up like a stick of dynamite.
i thought the explosion had something to do with the undetonated warhead he found earlier in the coal hopper. the warhead was on the conveyor system that fed the boiler. so when the boiler was turned on, the conveyers were started to supply the coal and the warhead was chucked into it.
@@MasterOfTruckIn most power plants the furnace and boiler are separated from the turbines. In this one, the furnace fuel hopper is the large round chamber where Matt jumped from the conveyer to the center hub with the circular stair. It's not easy to tell how big the separation is by watching Matt twist and turn through the building, but there is some distance between the two. Now whether the devs did it intentionally or not, notice that the explosion happens in the turbine room AND the flash is bright blue - that would be from an electrical arc explosion ... in the real world. It's the switch labels and the procedure that is questionable.

Spalling. Where the concrete has fallen off the rebar it's known as spalling. The concrete has spalled off the rebar. I've watched all the videos in this series and I finally have to say something, I've been holding on since episode 1 of Infra... :p
Water damage in the concrete expands during the freeze-thaw cycle breaking the concrete and exposing the rebar to the elements, which can then corrode and then the whole structure loses the tensile strength of the steel rebar.
