Zoro is indeed voiced by Christopher Sabat, who also voices Picollo, Vegeta, Yamcha, and also All Might in My Hero Acadamia! I've watched over 1000 eps of the dub- I love it! People are always gonna say the sub is superior, and the One Piece japanese voice actors ARE legendary and incredible, but I do think the English cast also does a fantastic job, especially getting further into the series. They really grow into their roles! Also yeah, a lot of people think the animation style is goofy... cause it is xD the show is so serious and unserious at the same time! Just wait till it gets you in the feels and you're sobbing at a goofy pirate show 😂
as someone who was an avid naruto fan, and an AVID one piece hater, i watched one piece to prove that naruto was better. i was HUMBLED. one piece is the greatest story ever told. by far. by FAR.
As for you hatin' on One Piece because you were a Narutard, that is perfectly understandable. Pirates versus Ninja has always been a thing, from before the Beginning of Time. The story "gets good" pretty much straight away, bit it's different for everyone on just how good. I'll just say this... The more you keep going, the better it keeps getting. It will creep up on you, but before you know it, you'll fall in love with our crew. Just wanted to respond to your intro. Going to watch now, and see if I wanna keep watching. If I like, I'll comment on the next video! [EDIT] Oh... Yikes. Sorry man, I can't handle the English voice acting, hahaha. Still, if you like it that way and it gets you into the story, welcome aboard! (I'm not trying to complain, I just can't listen to the dub, it hurts my ears.)
Your friend sounds like one of those people who doesn't pay attention to story too much, don't listen to him, just form your own opinions. Maybe you could give your thoughts after each arc, these are the episodes for each arc: 1-4, end of 4-8, 9-17, 18, 19-30, 31-44, 45, (46 - 47 is an animated manga cover story in between, same for 18), 48 - 53 (50 - 51 = anime canon, you can look it up), 54 - middle of 61 are filler episodes. That's it for the first saga.
One Piece is good right from the beginning. Every 50 episodes things level up and it gets way better. 200 episodes is where it gets HYPE, top tier. Some of the episodes they really slowed things down with either filler, early episode flashbacks, or people just staring at each other. Luffy is like if Naruto had the attitude of Goku, but a crackhead.
And also! Don't know what your friend on, OP is good since the beginning, the thing is it gets out of this world amazing in some arcs, like I said: a million to a billion. But only for people that enjoy really good storytelling and world building though, if you watch it just for fight scenes, then I'm not sure the story is gonna be for you. There are some pretty amazing fights, but in it's core it's an ***adventure***, treasure hunting mistery about dreams and freedom, so...
I *really* liked AoT, until that ass ending, then I started to just feel disappointed with it. Then I read one piece, and now I full on find AoT just really bad lmfaoooo which is honestly sad! I'm saying this as someone that was obsessed with AoT for like 3 years, and accompanied the ending before it was even animated. In retrospective, it had everything to be an amazing story, and Isayama just fucked everything up because he doesn't know how or didn't care to develop themes to a good ending and message. In Portuguese, there's a saying that goes "You had the bread, the butter and the knife" which means you had everything to make a perfect and easy snack, but somehow still fucked it up. And that's AoT for me. Ngl it had signs... Like how not one character is truly well developed besides Reiner, Gabi and (before the end) Eren. They're mostly just shells of a concept. That's why when someone died I was always like "welp that's too bad I guess, anyways...". Because no one was ever truly well developed enough for me to feel anything with their deaths. There's also strong military propaganda that I thought would be better developed (lol) as to show that even though they're in that situation, not everything is black and white, the military aren't always saviours, and I'm sorry, but having Eren just full on genocide a nation is not how you do it. And it's not like it's the worst problem in the story anyways. There's the badly handled "cycle of violence" utilizing holocaust symbolism to do it poorly. The lack of explanations for a multitude of things that happen, that sure could be left to our imagination, but for a story that prides itself so much in how intrinsic and well thought out it is, it's funny how it chooses to leave it up to the audience to guess what happened/happens. How Eren's idea of freedom is broken, and even if someone says "that's the point!", well it isn't because Isayama fucked this up by making him not own up to the mess he made, he didn't believe in that shit, and did it because... a girl rejected him. Lol. Imo Isayama was just tired and done with it, and rushed the ending because of it, then we got what we got, and most of what we got just messed with the whole story, not just the end, because he decided to play with time travel. If we ignore the ending, it's really good up to end of season 3, just pretend the rest doesn't exist though 👍🏽 )Also, I'mma say, if we have to compare, I didn't really have much confidence in Isayama, even while still an AoT fan, because I was scared at how he would handle certain themes (rightfully so) and didn't know if he would be able to write a good ending, already only based on what was happening during the end of season 3. I have full confidence in Oda though, he has proved time and time again to know how to deal with heavy themes, eons better than Isayama, and One Piece isn't even a dark story, just has dark themes in it. Every new arc I'm blown away, every new arc I have no worries about anything being left without an explanation or that the ending will be bad, because I didn't read a bad arc. For sure, there were some more lacking than others, but it's like comparing 1million dollars to a billion. When you have the billion, of course the million is gonna feel lacking. Still one million dollars though. That's how I feel with One Piece.
There are no people who hate One Piece; there are only people who haven't watched it.

Really happy this series is actually happening. I think the dub is pretty good, but the sub is definitely better.

32:16 fun fact luffy in the manga has never shown a thought bubble he just acts
2:25 it’s good for my episode one bro and the first hundred is kind of a preview to what the rest is going to be like
I always say the first hundred is like the prologue
13:58 my fav mc after Lelouch
I personally prefer subbed. Luffy’s dub VA annoys me. But glad you watching regardless
There are definitely a few great moments in dub, however, even the most irrelevant side characters have incredible voice actors in the sub.
I can't watch the dubbed
Sub is def better
Letsssss gooooooooooo
2:35 if the pacing is too slow, please try one Pace before dropping anything
Hope for more

i get what people are saying about dub but I’m gonna miss being able to listen to these vids like a podcast 😅
