- Motorcycle ride from Black Forest in Germany to France
Riding from our campsite in the Black forest, Germany heading into France towards Luxembourg.
Great roads and views and we even get some sunshine for a change!
you come round here with yer sunny days and gloveless riding in petrol stations, mcdonalds and posh coke glasses, anyone would think you're on yer jollies, Vive la France !
Sunshine though! i was starting to think the sun had gone forever lol
Had to abandon the real glass, but did feel bad about it….
The next person might have been given 2, imagine the joy you bring 🤣@@jonathanwild2211
After suffering so much rain i felt relieved for you watching this episode. Well done for sticking it out for days on end, had to be hard to endure!
I was lucky my gear didn't let me down and kept me dry and warm (apart from the day i didn't put my waterproof over jacket on! user error)
The weather did spoil the views and our pit stops were rushed, but looking back the whole thing its was still good and i enjoyed it 👍
Finally ! The summer jacket comes into its own. Great vid…. I love driving in France, but I’ve never gone on a bike…
France is great, we want to go to Luxembourg then a war museum in Mons, Belgium then we are heading back into France to camp near Dunkirk beach.
Feeling more confident about having sunshine now 👍
You should do it on a bike ;)
Good stuff Barnoe, Sun at last 🌞 Jazbee 👍
It's been a long time coming 👍
Some nice riding this episode , but seriously McDonald for lunch ! Some lovely French cafes . Well done on the video again .
MacDonald's just because we past right by just after saying were hungry.
Your right though, would have been nice to try out a roadside cafe like we did in Germany. 👍
@@MotoTripTV Food at McDonald´s is not the same all over the world. It's much better in Europe than in the USA. They are not allowed to stuff anything in our food here in Europe. Even in the UK it's better than in the USA but of course best in France. For Brits junkfood anywhere is an improvement I guess. I once got food poisened in southern England somewhat close to Southampton in a posh restaurant later getting a Michelin star. I never tried that anywhere in Europe before or since.
At last some sunshine for a change, make sure you don't get too sunburnt you know how pale us northerners are, looking forward to the next instalment 👍
Sunshine its the future lol
Really enjoyable video.
Keep up man🔥🔥
Thank you 😎
Really enjoyed the video, mate and your bang on about how good that camp site was. It's 🎉not that difficult or expensive to provide some basic facilities 😂
A few sites in Europe have gone the extra mile, fair play to them 👍
So easy, but so neglected. All it takes to keep campers for another night or two is a little shelter and some chairs! Campsite owners take note!
We made sure that we arrived mid week to ride the b500 roads where empty, no police so had a good fast ride
Lots of speed cameras now though sadly
It’s strange that you felt there was a big change when you crossed the Rhein into France because you crossed into Alsace. Alsace has swapped between being part of Germany and part of France many times over the years. The place names, local good and the architecture all have a very German feel.
I only commented because Germany, Austria and Switzerland all felt the same.
As we travelled further into France it was noticeably different that the French have their own design on things.
Its not a complaint, its actually nice to see, i like the subtle differences each country has with things 😁
Hi been watch the series great trip you guys had apart from all the dam rain
Would you recommend the camp site to use as a base to explore the Black Forest if so what the name of the place please? then we go on down to Croatia 😊
Thanks
The campsite was called "Campingplatz Graesselmuehle" Blumberg 1, 77880 Sasbach, Germany
I was ok, there may be better in the area, i would definitely plan before arriving, as most of the places we saw are for motorhomes only.
So you find yourself riding around at the end of your ride trying to find a place for the night.
Once you do, the roads around the black forest are great, not just the B500 but others too.
@@MotoTripTV That’s great thanks for the advice, we are trying to plan well ahead so that we have a good idea of where we want to be each day till we get to Black Forest spend a few days or so there then make our way slowly down to Croatia
Yeh I saw and you said that so many were just for camper vans which is not good
Thanks again
An happy new year to you
At last hear comes the sun!! Yeeee Haaaa.
Oh it felt so good :)
Don't apologize for your video and audio. They're both OK.
OMG! What the Donald Duck is going on?? No rain, dry roads and sunny. I thought I had the wrong video on😃, it's about time you two had a decent day👍. I did the B500 in August this year, NO-ONE was keeping to the 50kph speed limits, we did it at UK national speed, didn't see a single cop, or camera🤞. Anyway, you definitely deserve some decent weather, fingers crossed for the rest of your trip 🤞🏍.
Haha i know hard to believe we stayed dry!
I did see a camera but strangely enough it was on the middle of a bend?
So a fair bit of rain on this tour then?
More than i expected to be fair 🤣
I know this isnt about Dorsoduro 750 and that bike is also a twin, but I got an offer and I am wondering if you would think it would work for 10-12 hours touring. 80% of my riding is twisties in the mountains of Norway. But I also do long touring to Sweden and down to Europe. I want something light and nibble but also kind of stable. Is the air protection bad?
It depends on the person, the more you ride the more you get comfortable on the bike.
Most bikes are similar these days, i find standing on the pegs for a couple of minutes every couple of hours helps a lot.
Well just to contradict your statement that the big M is the same all over the world well that is not true for in thailand I thought the same but when we got the food it burned the adenoids for it was all spice like most foods in thailand.and in China well I can not describe what that was like.
I'm ok with Spices usually.
Noted though if i ever go my diet will change considerably, which seeing as i'm supposed to be on a diet would be a good thing 😁
The typical comment about the B500 speed limits from Brits - you and others - is that it is not fun and exciting anymore. It was not fun before. The route is particularly dangerous for bikers. A "Kilometer of Silence" was marked with biker salute signs on the B500. In six years alone, six bikers died on this little one km stretch of the B500. Think about all the bikers that have died on the entire stretch and the ones rescued by the constantly flying helicopters and maybe disabled for the rest of their lives. Stop complaining. The road is not a racing track.
