Originally a b-side from country legend Buck Owens, “Crying Time" ultimately became a massive hit for Ray Charles. Released in 1965 from the album of same title, the song reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, #5 on the R&B Chart, and won two Grammy Awards for Best R&B Recording and Best R&B Solo Performance in 1967. It is a prefect representation of Ray Charles’ unique take on country music that would forever change the genre. This is the first time this track has been made officially available in over a decade.

Reminds me of childhood with my father playing this song. Listening to it now with tears streaming down my face. He died exactly 6months ago on Aug 5 2021 from COVID complications. My Mom used to place RC records in the evening on the weekends, and this song brings back so many memories of my dearly departed Mom. We both attended a live concert of RC in 1968, when I was a kid, at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, California, and I remember it as if it were yesterday. For those of you that are lucky to still have your parents, don't waste a second, and please tell them how much you love an appreciate them as I did.

I was stationed at China Lake NWC, CA in 77/78. There were only a handful of us there. The Great Mr Ray Charles came and played for us in a small theater. I say by myself, front row, not 50 feet away. It was amazing. I will always love him for coming there. He was the only one that did.

I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was a little girl. I loved it then and I love it now. Filled with so much love and sadness. Very emotional ❣️ It really touches your heart. And of course my parents come to mind. My Dad loved and played this kind of music on his guitar.
This was playing on the plane when we were leaving Fairbanks, Alaska and my Dad was flying out for declimatization in Hawaii then on to Vietnam. Febuary, 1966.

I can't believe all this comments, most of you correlate this song with childhood, same as I. I guess we are special kind of people since there was a lot of other music at that time, but this song stuck in our minds.
We used to sit around my mother's piano. While she played we'd all sing this all the time back in the 60s through the 80s.
So many good memories with my grandparents my grandfather played this everytime the family got together Good Times miss you pop so much 😇🙏
I remember this song we used to sing when we were just small, we used to sing this song while collecting crabs and shellfishes along the sea shore during low tide in this part of Fiji. I am 60 now, and this reminds me of those precious times.

I was a late kid. The youngest of five but 17 years younger than my oldest sibling in 13 years younger than my next oldest. So my parents were world war II era people. And I remember my dad and my uncle playing this song when I was really little and I still remember that to this day. It was probably the early '70s. So I might have been 6 years old. I've always loved Ray. Charles
