For some reason this movie gets to me more than My Girl. One that is similar to this is Dancing on the Moon. Not many people seem to know about it but it is so good! Highly recommend it.

When I was little I always believed that Leslie never died, that she was just caught in Terebithia due to the flood and was kidnapped by the evil thing, then there'd be a sequel where Jesse would save her from the wind chime palace where she was trapped, and she'd come back and they would rule Terebithia together...

As a kid that had very little friends my entire childhood and that struggled a lot to connect to others, bridge to therabitia was very special for me as a movie i wanted someone to trust and love, i wanted a friend. I used to watch the movie on repeat. So the friendship of the two main kids was very important to me. I heard this song from my brothers room and it immediately made me cry. Now im 20 and i still feel the same sometimes, but im learning to be my own best friend.

its not unrealistic. my music class was veery much like this, everyone singing, with our sir playing his guitar and singing along. and we used to play along with sir, guitar, drums, violin, keyboard. you name it!
honestly the best times of my life were in our music room, with friends.

This has been my favorite book/movie/story since I first read it when I was nine and sobbed all night and thus fell asleep during my uncle and aunt's wedding the next day. Hehe. Miss Edmund was always the reason I wanted to become a music teacher. I'm on my second year of studying now, and though the teens I'm working with would rather play Justin Bieber and Coldplay, I plan to include "Why Can't We Be Friends?" and "Someday" in some my lessons. They need some good old songs too, you know :) Oooohyes, this is going to be so awesome.
Someday by Steve Early. The class sing it twice in the movie. The first time everyone is super happy and they all play rythm instruments and smile. The next time is right after the big sad thing that happens (trying to avoid spoiling that one for anyone who hasn't seen the movie but I'm guessing you know what I mean :P) and in that scene they're all sitting still and singing the same song, only a big slower and without cheery rythm and it's all sad. Very good for contrast, though. Before and after. Same song, different tone and feeling.
