David Friedman nailed it: there WAS something special about Ratt's guitars on the first two records. NO other Sunset Strip band sounded as good. This is why I'm here!!

Yup….and it’s incredible how many people don’t understand how much Beau had to do with that. Just like Ted Templemen had an enormous amount to do with EVH’s Fair Warning tone.

Absolutely loved this interview.. i have watch the In bloom interviews with Beau and just love hearing the stories and secrets.. I absolutely loved the Ratt albums. I was 15 when Round and Round came on the radio 83-84 and was blown away how cool that was to hear.. Bands like this made me into the guitar player I am today.. not to their level but a level of total appreciation. Great channel as well !

I loved Beau’s work with Gary Moore. I wish they would’ve done an entire album together.
On another note, Stand Back is the tune Prince played synth on (2/8/83 was the session). Stevie said it took him an hour and he was gone.

The remixed version of Blow My Fuse is awesome! Wish more of those 80s bands would do that. Sounds massive!

Beau, that is an incredible story brother. I first listened to Ratt and was blown away. But, when I heard their mix tapes they sounded like average bar bands. They have their own very interesting back story, by the way, but the things you did to bring that uncaged lion into the studio and made something so refined is, well, genius! Although, as humble as you are, you might might say coincidence. Thank you for sharing this to the world.

Awesome show. I am really glad somebody brought up Robin Crosby, he was an amazing guitarist. But couldn't shine under the shadow of Warren. Very sad about what happened to him towards the end of his life.

I’m here because of Warrant’s “Machine Gun” - guitars sound great and wanted to know more about the recording/producing of Warrant’s music back in the day. Should have recognized Beau Hill’s style since I’m a big Ratt fan. Beau also mentions Kansas - another fabulous band in another interview I listened
to before finding this one. Thank you for doing this video.

I have always maintained the same of Warren in that I always was both enamored and in awe of his syntax, the way he phrased his riffs was so novel and unique. I mean no one sounded like him in the way that he said things with the guitar. No one I ever knew thought or said that about him. It was always the same old cliches that he's so fast or he's so melodic, which are true and are things that I always liked about Warrens technique but, to hear Beau say it too is very vindicating for me ''

I’m so sorry I missed this interview. I would’ve ended up dropping $20K asking Beau question about recording. UGH! Anyway….Kee Marcelo was an incredible singer as well. His solo cd was amazing…

I’m sure Stephen evan knows he’s not a good singer. With that said. He has a great unique stingy type of voice that just makes you feel so dirty. In a great way. Haha.
