    If you spin your drill bit in reverse, it won’t chew up the carpet. Hit the spinning bit with a propane torch just before you use it and it melts the carpet as it goes through so it won’t unravel later. Just like burning the ends of freshly cut rope.

      I have found when drilling through carpet I use my soldering iron to melt a small hole in the carpet before I drill

    Jay perfect timing! I just bought that same charger on prime days for my Yamaha

      Awesome! Hopefully this helps out with mounting ideas. I bought this charger and then it went on sale like a week later. I was pretty bummed out about that.

    I did a 12 volt solar charger for this exact same issue. Running my amp and 10 speakers would lead to some low battery situations after a full day of music on the water.

      I have the solar panel that it came with, but I don't think it charges a whole lot.

    I have no clue what I am doing... can you add a short video of what batteries you use or add a comment? I would be similar to your situation, short run but want the tunes all day.... Do you have dual purpose batteries, or is there one starting and a deepcycle battery for the tunes/electronics all day? Add Yamaha and your boat model to your titles, to hopefully get more views. I am a guy searching specifically Yamaha boats....I'm sure there is more like me. Keep it up. TH-cam is hard, I enjoy your videos....even though you are from Wisconsin! :) I am from MN.
    Was there a specific reason you went with Yamaha? I just love the idea of my kids not being in danger of a prop...that is my main reason. What was yours? Again like your videos and the quality of work you do, no hack jobs. Guns, Boats, and cars....Love the channel!

      My boat came standard with dual batteries, one starting and one deep cycle. That is what I'm running.
      I went with Yamaha for several reasons (I'll be doing a video on that in the near future so I don't want to spoil it) but the #1 reasons was their integrated swim platform.

    Seems like the fire extinguisher should be located in a spot without electrical and where a fire would not potentially start? I ordered my first boat so I'm researching things I want to do. Great choice not to drill through your hull...lol, I'm going to do exactly what you did. Great Video!

      Thank for watching.
      This is the factory location for the fire extinguisher, I didn't move it there. But you're right, probably not the ideal location. My old Yamaha had it right behind the throttles, which was probably a lot better.

    Did you build that box, or did it come like that? I need to install my fire extinguisher and on-board charger.

      That box came in it. By ballast bag is inside of it.

    Could you have just lifted the seat and plug it in

    • @SmoknJaysGarage
      @SmoknJaysGarage 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I could have. The reason I did this is because I typically trailer the boat with the cover on. So I wanted to be able to plug/unplug it without crawling under the cover.
