Thanks everyone for your lovely, encouraging comments. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many views on a video before, despite having had another channel, @BearingAwayUK , for much longer than this one. I will try to get some more long form videos up, but it takes me forever to edit them, so please bear with me!

I Have been to Saltaire two or three times and have never heard of the tramway. It's now on my to do list this coming summer.
    Thanks.

Growing up in Bradford, Shipley Glen was a brilliant local day out for my family, full of attractions, including boat rides on the waterway, funfair, mini zoo & pop in glass bottles from the cafe, before a walk on the Glen playing on the rocks, happy memories.

Great video of a part of the world I've never visited. I was born in Barnoldswick but left at the age of 1 although I love to travel to my homeland after 50 years in Australia - if only via TH-cam. Thanks for the privilege.

I visited the top station in the 1980's, and there was still the relics of the small amusement park there, all derelict including dodgems!

I used to live in Saltaire on Mary Street. I then moved to Denholme, then Bridlington and I now live on the Wolds at North Cave. Subscribed as I'm a born and bred Yorkshireman.

Just found the channel and it's delightful. I grew up in Bradford and worked at Salt's Mill in the weaving shed for a time and it was huge. The Tramway at Shiply Glen was always an element of a day out and it was the only place way back in the late 60s and early 70s where I saw Red squirrels and just wondering if they still exist?

Helped with the maintenance there for a while until we moved sarf! Great bunch of people running it, I miss being there on Tuesdays, always something interesting to do ( apart from the bloody sleepers).

Very interesting and well produced video, not just about Saltaire and its Shipley Glen tramway ( I have seen a photo of it before, but never visited or seen a video).
I was very impressed by your guide dog, negotiating the station so calmly. I think that your video has highlighted a problem with station signage and directions for people with limited sight. Modern station (and airport) designs seem to have increased the complexity and distance of actually getting to trains (for everyone) so perhaps some low level signs, perhaps with Braile would help.
We have had several holidays in Yorkshire over the years with our dogs, and if we manage to go again, after watching this, we will have to include Saltaire

Wow. I can’t believe how quickly you get about with your dog. I don’t move that fast and I can see clearly where I’m going. I last did this train trip just before Christmas 2019 and I think it was when I caught what I now realise was Covid! Saltaire is a very interesting place to visit.

Lovely tram.....pity about the dreadful purple interior of the First Bus during the first few seconds! So few people seem to know about the Shipley Glen Tramway - such classic Victorian entertainment.....how wonderful to have originally had a toboggan ride too.

Well done with your companion. I am partially sighted and get around on the bus but Yorkshire is off the radar for me.

Yes, York station is great. Leeds City is NOT, except for the art deco bit connecting with City Square, which used to be entire station concourse, but is now just shops giving onto a car park, not railway lines. How were all the lines running to or through Leeds accommodated on so few platforms? Leeds Central was then operating, just down the road in Wellington Street. I remember it only as dingy, poorly maintained and unloved.
The original Saltaire "model village" was built not only with superior, comfortable housing, but nurseries, good schools two libraries, a theatre and all sorts of worthy amenities. But NO PUBS -they were BANNED. As you point out, Titus Salt deemed "the use of alcohol as a beverage" to be the road to perdition, but just for the working class, not for him. He wasn't actually teetotal himself, and enjoyed fine wines. What sort of crite did you say? The name of the pub you went to is not the only thing taken in vain. I haven't been there for many years, but I'm told there is now a fashionable (i.e. probably expensive) bar called 'Don't Tell Titus'. I hope it continues under that name.
