Morgana was the best character of the show..Merlin had all those powers, all that support but he was weak...he watched all his kind die..he couldn't even save his friends..and supported those who did that..Morgana stood up for them..even when she didnot know her powers..I admire her..because she was not the only person who killed innocent people..everyone did..she just stood against royalty..and was betrayed by her own kind..
i liked how this showed Morgana's character evolution. When we first meet Morgana she is kind, compassionate, and loyal to those she called friends. Morgana has persistently been strongly opposed to Uther's ruthlessness towards magic and protests his decisions because she believe magic is an inherent quality rather than an choice. We first see her upset at the execution of the man guilty only of using magic. She tells Uther of her sympathy for the devastated mother and her abhorrence for all of the lives lost in the Great Purge to accomplish Uther's goal of wiping out magic showing her compassion. Uther bans Arthur from finding an antidote for the poison Merlin took she convinces Arthur to go against his father to save the life of a servant, in her words, "Sometimes you've got to do what you think is right and damn the consequences." Morgana immediately confronts Sophia with a threat of not hurting Arthur because she would find Sophia no matter how long it takes when she dreams of Arthur drowning showing her loyalty to him. When Uther wants to throw Gaius aside for a younger court physician she stands up for him. She saves Mordred's life risking her life for a boy she just met showing her kindness. She goes with Merlin to save his village Ealdor even though it seems hopeless. When Gwen's father gets arrested she shows nothing but support and kindness for her maid even telling Uther if he executes Tom she will never forgive him. When it is realized Tom was doomed from the start she helps him escape unfortunately leading to his death. She tells Uther "only a madman hears the truth as treason" (a sad thing is that something she said describing Uther, ruthless, cold-hearted, and mad with power is later a description of her) to which Uther throws her in the dungeons. After spending the night in a cell her bitterness evolves into hatred and Morgana goes on Gwen's behalf to talk to Tauren a sworn enemy of Camelot. She plots with Tauren to put an end to Uther but at the last minute after Uther talks of what a great man her father was and apologizes for killing Tom she stops the assassination. Morgana always had magic and the only person who knew was Gaius who kept it a secret to shield her from Uther which I understand but sooner or later her power would manifest itself in more ways than just dreams and drugging her which never actually seemed to do anything was not the answer. Her magic first started coming alive when she was scared because i think she did know about herself subconsciously. Gaius should have told her rather than her figuring it out herself and being so scared of her guardian finding out and sentencing her to death that when merlin offers her another option she takes it. She finally feels at peace and accepted with the druids but once again that's shattered when the man who healed her is killed, i'm not saying that is arthur's fault because he was only trying to save someone he thought had been kidnapped but she has to go back with her growing powers to a kingdom that executes sorcerers, harmful or not. Morgause makes quite an impression on Morgana from the start and leaves her with a healing bracelet to help her sleep, something that no doubt helps her trust Morgause. Mordred returns with Alvarr another sorcerer to see Morgana who agrees to their request of stealing a powerful crystal in the vaults. Morgana opens up to Alvarr telling him, "I don't want to be brave. I just want to be myself. I don't want to be alone anymore." It's clear all she wants is acceptance, she has no one in Camelot. When Alvarr is sentenced to death, she realizes Uther will never change his ways and she hates what he has become which she tells to Morgause. Morgause puts Morgana under a spell that’s kind of a reverse Sleeping Beauty deal; everyone in Camelot comes down with a sickness that puts them to sleep, except Morgana. Even though Morgana agreed to help bring down Uther, Morgause cast a spell on her without her consent and she seemed lost and horrified by how everything was going on. Merlin's decision to poison Morgana. He was exhausted, out of options, and had been told to do so by the dragon, but the act has far-reaching consequences. I think Gaius had a lot of opportunities to help Morgana and it is partly his fault. Gaius tells Merlin that he didn’t really have a choice about poisoning Morganna but maybe Morgana wouldn’t be turning to dark magic if someone had been supportive of her the way Gaius was all, "whatever-she-got-what-she-deserved" and said she choose to use her magic for evil pissed me off. If he hadn't spent the first few seasons lying to her about her abilities and making her think she was crazy and that no one cared maybe it wouldn't have happened. I feel this is where Morgana's character turns completely. In this episode she shows she thinks of merlin as a friend and care about Arthur. But after this episode and being with Morgause for a year, she becomes completely different when we next see her. Morgause could have used magic to gain Morgana's full allegiance. I'm not saying that Morgana is not evil and mad but i'm saying she didn't start out that way and it wasn't a conscious choice to just be evil. Sorry this is way too long.
wow you really remember every little detail, don't you? You're right though, her choices could have been different if only someone (except morgause) had been supportive of her
Jami S. Thank you verry much, I think you're right. Things could have been different. Merlin could have helped her, gaius... it's sad to see how not love she must have felt. I think her biggest mistake was to let her pain and bitterness devoring her and it's sad but things could have been different wich is why merlin told Morgana he blamed himself for what she became. He knew how much he could've helped her.
So true, if merlin just trusted her like she trusted him and told her about him having magic, she wouldn't have to go to druids, she could stay in Camelot and teach how to use magic from merlin and gaius, the whole turning evil would never happened and everyone would still be happy in Camelot - if merlin would be the friend she thought he was
No no don't apologize fpr the people who hates her for being 'evil' may see this and begin ti see her side of the story which many like u people, made me realize As a kid i didn't know that many evil people are made, not born But now as a teenager i can understand people and their emotions by just seeing how somebody cares for one another, the movie showing how much they care about someone Or how much somebody hates someone How much grief they go through After learning all these i stopped judging Thanks to people like you So don't apologize I know i'm fairly late but LONG LIVE THE MERLIN FANDOM❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏🥰
The fandom will live forever, even when our numbers are dwindled we will not die, even when most have forgotten Merlin we will not die, even if just one of us stays loyal to the fandom WE WILL NOT DIE! I know that was a bit over the top but I love this show.
It is a story of vengeance...a story that clearly portrays how the thirst for revenge turned the kindest person into what she hated the most..and your vids are amazing...❤
After seeing Katie in Supergirl, watching a few interviews and vids with her and falling in love with her, I also wanted to know Morgana so I watched all seasons of merlin and no video did that better than actual show
I don't agree with everything she did and I think she is responsible for choosing hate despite all she've been through, but her story is sooo sad. I'm still sad for her, for all the sadness and pain she felt.. Thank you for the amazing video♡
Thank You :) The truth is that the fact she grew up watching innocent people die combined with the fact that she was betrayed by her father and a friend, made her so angry about everything. However, as her younger self has said she could have chosen to use her power as a force for good and not become what she hated her father for.
InJupiter you're welcome :) Yes she could have choosen to use magic for good. To be honest I don't blame her for wanting the throne and making war to Arthur. I understand her reasons but not the means she used to achieve her goal. As mordred once told her, such hatred could never triomph. It's sad how merlin could have helped her. She trusted him so much.
It's been a year since I first found this, and here I am, sitting in this same spot, watching it again, for the 7th time. I think I have some serious issues. This video is so AMAZING though! No matter how long I resist I always end upcoming back! (I made it 3 months this time woo hoo!)
I feel sorry for Morgana honestly she was passed over for her brother and it's not fair Melissa Fox used to be that way even Jessica Wakefield and me ,Denishea Bates we were once consumed by bitterness and anger

Muka katie mcgrath itu mirip banget sama kiera knightley bahkan aksennya juga sama british kadang suka ketuker kalau liat meraka😅
❤❤❤2024
Merlin was dragged out of history. I last seen him in 2006 in Brentwood north glenside hospital psychiatric ward. He was after some green.
