Obedience is one of the criteria for a good protection dog, but ultimately, it comes down to actually confronting a threat and being able to withstand the punishment that comes along with it. Alot of "protection dogs" lack aggression and usually back up once they have been punched or kicked or, worse, hit with a metal bar. Most protection dogs are just sport dogs with obedience, which is useless in a real confrontation.

Most are worked in prey drive. I work my dogs in defensive drive during agitation and muzzle work.
