I spent my teenage years dreaming that one day Donny would see me and fall in love with me and sing "Go away little girl" to me- it never happened and I'm nearly sixty now. But even now when hear the beautiful songs sung by Donny I'm transported back to that innocent time of an overwhelming and unrequited love !!! Please don't laugh- I can still remember how heartbroken I was when he got married. Mind you I think his wife is lovely !!!
@@cathynel You'll never believe this- but I went to The Union chapel concert in February 2019- with Jay and Merril. During the meet and greet which took place as the sound check was going on Merril said they were having problems with the system. Big mouth that I am - I said as long as you sing "Let me in" (my favourite all time song) I don't mind if you dont sing anything else and do you not what? He said shall I sing it for you? And I still have to pinch myself to realize that he actually did sing it whilst the sound check was going on. It's the nearest thing to Donny singing for me. I still think of it is the best day of my life. But then The Osmonds are all such lovely and decent human beings. I will always love them.
Same here! Wasn't he just the cutest thing in this video? I loved him in his earliest years and now. I'll be 60 next year. I saw him and the brothers in 1975 in Detroit at the state fair. It was the most thrilling time for a 12 year old! I was crushed when he got married as well. I'm glad that he found a good woman though.

By this time in history the majority of teenage and preteen girls were so obsessed with Donny we didn't care if he could hit the high notes or not! If only I had been there to 'help' him! ;-)
They really needed to retire that song because his voice just couldn't go there anymore and it was damaging to his vocal chords they should have had more respect for him.I mean it my dad was a vocal coach and that would have been a huge no-no that on top of the fact that his voice was already worn out from all of the other songs that they had performed during this concert.But your right Teresa,those girls were not there to listen to how perfectly he hit each note..They just wanted Donny that's all ..Lol

I'm going to casually pretend that I didn't spend my entire childhood crying and obsessing over this kid because, in reality, he was already in his forties by the time I hopped on Captain Purple's back....still, I cannot even wrap my head around the amount of tears I cried listening to this song, it's hysterical hahaha

Never say never! It took 30 years to meet Donny and another 9 until he sang "Go Away Little Girll" to me, but it happened.
